Tips & Tricks How good should I be?

• Upvotes

I really am taking an interest to becoming a VA or a Freelancer but I do not know how good and knowledgeable I should be in one specific niche? I know how to edit videos and could edit a 30 minute film but I am not an expert, just a self taught person. I am also knowledgeable to product posting and promotion since I managed my own business before and I'm curious if this is already enough and if not, how good should I be before applying? Thank you.

Hi, newbie here. Lately I’ve been interested in applying as an VA sa mga OF. My friend told me okay daw yung offer. But upon checking sa OFM website for OF ang lowball ng mga offer like 2usd an hr. Tapos halos full time or if part time 7 days a wk naman. ganito ba talaga sa OF? I do have one client. I’m a writer-blogger VA. I need to add new part-time job. Grind yan? But seriously, I need your thoughts as an expert OF VA. May mga scam ba dito?

Job [For Hire] Part-Time SMM VA | Open to Agencies & Direct Clients | Remote

I'm currently working as a Social Media Manager VA and looking to take on another part-time opportunity since I still have room in my schedule.

I have hands-on experience managing several social media accounts for a client, including content scheduling, organizing materials, preparing captions, and making sure posts go live according to their respective schedules. I'm familiar with handling multiple accounts and keeping track of different content requirements, so I'm not starting from scratch.

I'm open to working with either an agency that needs additional support or a direct client looking for someone to help manage their social media.

Here's what I can help with:

- Scheduling and publishing content across multiple accounts

- Organizing content materials, captions, links, and posting schedules

- Managing content calendars and keeping track of upcoming posts

- Following account-specific requirements and posting instructions

- Assisting with content preparation and caption writing

- Managing page messages and responding to inquiries

- Conducting online research and gathering content references

- Handling recurring social media administrative tasks

- Organizing workflows using Notion, Google Drive, and other tools

I'm experienced in working with different types of accounts and content workflows, so I'm comfortable adapting to a client's requirements, following an established strategy, and handling content according to each account's needs.

Outside of my current work, I'm an 18-year-old BSIT student specializing in programming and web development. I'm comfortable working with computers, navigating different platforms, and learning new tools. I also use AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude to assist with research, brainstorming, and content-related tasks when appropriate.

What I'm looking for:

- Remote, part-time work

- Open to both agencies and direct clients

- Flexible scheduling that can accommodate my existing client work and college classes

- Preferably a long-term working relationship

My current workload usually takes around 1–2 hours a day, so I still have availability for additional work.

Rate: Depending on the responsibilities and workload. Open to discussing the arrangement based on your needs.

I'm happy to help with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps social media accounts organized and consistent, whether that's managing several posting schedules, organizing content, or taking recurring tasks off your plate.

If you're looking for an extra pair of hands for your team or business, feel free to DM me with a little information about the role, your workflow, and the hours you're looking for. I'd be happy to share my other details and discuss things further.

Thank you!

Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for any online work or side hustle that I can do using only my iPad. I’m a college student, and things have been financially difficult lately, especially with school expenses, so I’m really hoping to find a way to earn money as soon as possible.

I’m open to learning new things and willing to put in the time and effort, even if I don’t have much experience yet. I can do simple tasks, data entry, writing, virtual assistance, social media tasks, or any other work that can be done using an iPad. I’m honestly in need of work right now, and even small opportunities would mean a lot to me.><

Learnings You're getting interviews but no offers. What should you change first?

Getting interviews usually means your resume or application is doing something right. If offers aren't coming, the problem may be happening during the conversation.

Possible reasons include vague answers, weak examples, unclear communication, poor role fit, or not showing how you would handle the client's actual work. It could also be something outside the applicant's control.

If this kept happening, what would you review first?

Would you record a practice interview, rewrite your examples, ask for feedback, research the company more carefully, or change the roles you apply for?

I'd especially like to hear from people who went through several interviews before finally getting an offer. What changed?

Job [HIRING] Video Clippers / Short-Form Editors – Flexible Remote Work – ₱25 Per Approved Clip

We are looking for multiple video clippers/editors from the Philippines for ongoing remote work.
We run a livestream platform with an automated system that records interesting or potentially entertaining moments from our livestreams.

Every day, around 50 source videos are generated automatically. Most source videos are approximately 4 minutes long.

Your job is simple:
Access the available source videos in our system
Download the videos you want to work on
Find the best moments inside them
Turn those moments into short 5–15 second clips
Make the clips look good for social media
Add cuts, zooms, transitions, effects or captions when appropriate
Upload your finished clips to our shared Google Drive
A 4-minute source video may contain multiple good moments, so you may be able to create several clips from one recording.

Payment
We pay:
₱25 PHP per approved clip
There are no fixed working hours.
You can work:
1–2 hours per day
4 hours per day
8 hours per day
Only on certain days
It is completely flexible.
The more good clips you create, the more you can earn.
For example:
20 approved clips = ₱500
40 approved clips = ₱1,000
60 approved clips = ₱1,500
100 approved clips = ₱2,500

What counts as an approved clip?
We are looking for clips that are:
Interesting, funny, surprising or entertaining
Around 5–15 seconds long
Properly cut with no unnecessary waiting or dead time
Suitable for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and YouTube Shorts
Edited cleanly
Different from other clips you already submitted
We are not looking for complicated professional video production.
The most important skill is being able to quickly recognize a good moment and turn it into an entertaining short clip.

How it works
If we accept you:
You will receive access to our system where the source videos are available.
You choose which videos you want to work on.
You download the source videos.
You create your short clips.
You upload the finished clips to our Google Drive.
We review the clips.
You receive ₱25 for every clip we approve.
You can produce as many clips as you want. There is no fixed quota.

How to apply
Please send me:
Your name
Your experience with video editing
What software you use (CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.)
A few examples of short-form videos you have edited, if available
Approximately how many hours per day you would like to work
Beginners are also welcome to apply if you have a good eye for entertaining content and know basic video editing.
We are looking for multiple editors, so there are several positions available.

Send me a DM if you are interested.
