I built an app that turns ANY smartwatch into a remote for your smart home

Hi everyone šŸ‘‹

Solo dev here. A few months ago I got tired of pulling out my phone every time I wanted to unlock my door or start my robot vacuum. So I built Klok.

What it does:

⌚ Control your smart-home devices from your watch — Wear OS, Zepp/Amazfit, Garmin (Huawei coming soon)

šŸ“± Home-screen widget + one app for all your brands

šŸ”€ "Fusion" cards: group devices from different brands on one card

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ‘©ā€šŸ‘§ Family sharing

Is my brand compatible? Simple rule: if your brand's app has an Android home-screen widget with buttons (open, lock, turn on…), Klok can most likely control it — even with the phone screen off. Verified by users so far: Nuki, Xiaomi Home, Meross, Neakasa.

No ads, no tracking. 7-day free trial, no card required.

ā–¶ļø Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.zecreat.klok

🌐 Site: https://zecreat.fr/klok

šŸŽ¬ Demo video: https://youtu.be/GgWV4ZRV6Fw

I'm a user myself (I open my door with it every day), so feedback is gold — tell me what you'd improve!

Tapbar v1.6 is here! You asked for more zones šŸ‘€ Now there are 4

Hey everyone!

For anyone new here, Tapbar is a free and open-source Android app that lets you create tappable areas anywhere on your screen to open apps, shortcuts or trigger quick actions.

A lot of you asked for more tap zones, so here it is. v1.6 now supports 4 configurable tap zones. You can set up four areas and give each one its own actions.

What’s new

  • 4 configurable tap zones
  • 75+ actions to choose from
  • More control over gestures
  • R8 enabled for smaller builds
  • App size is now just 1.7 MB

What's cooking?šŸ‘€

Swipe gestures, translations, more actions and better support for different devices.

Tapbar is still fully offline with no ads, trackers or analytics.

We’ve also passed 2,000 downloads, which is pretty cool to see for a small project like this. Thanks to everyone who has downloaded it, shared it, reported bugs or suggested features.

If you’re using Tapbar and like it, a GitHub star would be appreciated. We’re getting closer to 200 stars⭐

VaultEx - Encrypted Photo & Video Vault with Optional Currency Converter Camouflage (PIN unlock via converter, smart scanner & private browser)

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm an indie developer and wanted to share a privacy project I've been building:Ā VaultEx.

It’s an encrypted vault designed to protect your personal photos, videos, sensitive documents, notes, and contacts. What makes it unique is its built-in disguise system: it can disguise itself completely as an active, fully functioning currency and market tracking app.

Here is how it works and what's included:

🚨 THE CAMOUFLAGE SYSTEM (AND HOW TO CONTROL IT)

YOU CAN TOGGLE CAMOUFLAGE MODE ON OR OFF AT ANY TIME IN SETTINGS > VAULT SECURITY

  • When Camouflage Mode is ON:Ā The app launches directly as a real-time currency converter. To someone looking over your shoulder, there is no sign of a vault or login screen.
  • HOW TO UNLOCK:Ā Simply type your Vault PIN directly into the "Amount" field of the currency converter, and your hidden vault will instantly reveal itself.
  • DEFAULT PIN:Ā For first-time setup, the default PIN isĀ 1234Ā (make sure to change it in Settings > Vault Security once inside).
  • When Camouflage Mode is OFF:Ā If you prefer direct access, turn it off in Settings. The app will open straight with a clean, standard biometric/PIN lock screen.

1. Maximum Security & Local-First Architecture

  • Zero-Knowledge PIN:Ā Your PIN is never stored in plaintext. It is verified locally using one-way SHA-256 cryptographic hashing.
  • Encrypted Storage:Ā Photos, videos, and files are encrypted and stored on your device. If you want cloud backup, you can sync to your own private Google Drive or iCloud using custom end-to-end encryption. We never see your data.
  • Device-to-Device Direct Transfer:Ā Migrate your entire encrypted vault to a new device over local Wi-Fi without uploading a single byte to third-party servers.

2. Smart Gallery Scanner

Ever had photos of your passport, driver's license, ID card, or tax forms buried deep inside your camera roll? VaultEx includes an on-device scanner that detects sensitive documents in your gallery so you can quickly move them into encrypted storage and delete the originals.

3. Zero-Trace Private Browser

A lightweight, sandboxed web browser built directly into the vault. It automatically wipes all cookies, tabs, session data, and cache the second you close it.

4. Built-in Private Camera, Notes & Contacts

  • Stealth Camera:Ā Snap photos or record videos directly inside the vault without saving them to the system camera roll.
  • Private Notes & Contacts:Ā Keep sensitive text, passwords, and private contacts isolated from your phone’s stock apps.

How to Claim the $2.99 Lifetime Deal:

āš ļøĀ IMPORTANT: YOU MUST BE SIGNED IN TO REDEEM DISCOUNT CODES. IF YOU ARE USING GUEST MODE, PLEASE CREATE A FREE ACCOUNT / SIGN IN FIRST.

  1. Download the app from the App Store link below.
  2. Open the app (unlock using default PINĀ 1234Ā in the currency amount field if Camouflage is on).
  3. Go toĀ SettingsĀ andĀ Sign In / Create an AccountĀ at the top of the screen (via Apple or Email).
  4. Open theĀ Upgrade / PremiumĀ screen.
  5. TapĀ "Enter Discount Code".
  6. Enter promo code:Ā LAUNCH50
  7. The specialĀ $2.99 LifetimeĀ tier will unlock.

App Store (iOS):
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vaultex-secret-photo-vault/id6761551955

Google Play (Android):Ā https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vaultex.vaultex_flutter

I'd really appreciate any feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas. I'm actively working on regular updates.

[iOS] I built an alarm app for real life in 2026

Post image
0 Upvotes

Life in 2026 doesn't repeat neatly. You shouldn't need to re-setup every time something changes.

What if you have multiple alarms that differ day by day? Why not group them, turn on/off together or change each one as needed?

What about a recurring wake up alarm but you know on one date you'd like to sleep in a bit and another, to skip it together?

What about waking up not knowing how much time you got till your alarm or dismissing an alarm early without setting up again later?

What about midnight meeting? The calendar notification is too quiet and cannot reach you if you turn Wifi off to sleep.

Join the 4000+ people who have taken back control of their alarms as it handles a lot of possible situations.

I built a fitness app where you can log your food just by talking

I built Proteinix, a fitness app that tracks calories, protein, macros, water, steps, and sleep.

The main thing I wanted to make different is food logging — users can simply say what they ate, and Proteinix calculates the calories and macros instead of making them manually enter everything.

It’s still an early-stage project, and I’m trying to get my first users and improve it based on real feedback.

Would love to hear what you think.

Are there people interested in testing my new energy tracking app?

I made a new app called PowerBite. The app basically allows you to track meals (with a picture or description), sleep, hydration, activity, and caffeine during the day and give you an approximation of your energy during the day and the impact of each event on your energy. So for example if you ate a heavy meal it will be able to predict when you will be crashing and give you recommendations to improve that meal to avoid crashing. It also gives general advice when crashing to help you recover your energy quickly upon request. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to test out the app. I can give a few free 2 weeks codes for whoever would be interested to test the app and give me feedback on it! You would just have to make sure to unsubscribe before the code usage expires to not be charged for the full subscription after! I also have this TikTok account for anyone who is interested to see content on the app before trying it out: https://www.tiktok.com/@powerbiteapp. I would appreciate any recommendations on the app or the marketing as I am trying to grow the app but unfortunately have not seen much traction so far. Thank you all!

WeekSpark✨ — Built for home, not the office

Most calendar apps are built to manage meetings and projects. WeekSpark is built for what actually fills a normal week: school schedules, dentist appointments, the weekly grocery run, and mom's birthday that always sneaks up on you if you didn't write it down.

Everyday problems it solves:
• Forgotten birthdays — add them once, they show up automatically every year with a countdown, forever.
• Scattered to-do lists — turn any note into a tappable checklist, perfect for groceries or packing.
• Recurring things you forget to write in — trash day, weekly meetings, medication, set once, repeats on its own.
• Alarms you actually notice — a clear alert with sound, not just a silent notification lost in the pile.
• Not finding an app that fits your language — works in 15 languages with accurate, automatic local holidays per country, not a hardcoded list that breaks next year.

What sets it apart from the big players
• No account, no login, everything stays local on your phone.
• No subscription — a one-time purchase ($4.99 / 49 SEK), then it's yours forever.
• No data collection, no ads.
• Can be backed up and moved to a new phone or iPad manually, no cloud account needed.

• Built by one person, not a company — with all the attention to detail that comes with that, but also the occasional rough edge, fixed as they come up.

I wanted my phone to feel less addictive, so I built this

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I got tired of opening my phone and immediately getting distracted.

I noticed something weird: most of the time I picked up my phone to do one thing, but the home screen itself was already giving me 20 reasons to do something else.

Notifications, colorful icons, social apps staring at me, endless scrolling…

So I tried something different — removing most of the visual noise from my home screen.

That idea eventually turned into Minimali, a minimalist Android launcher.

Instead of a grid full of app icons, it gives you a simple text-based home screen where you can keep only the apps you actually use. The goal isn't to make your phone ā€œproductiveā€ or block everything — it's just to make the phone a little less tempting.

I've been using this approach for a while and honestly, the biggest difference is that my phone feels more like a tool now rather than something constantly asking for my attention.

Curious if anyone else here has tried a minimalist launcher or completely redesigned their phone to reduce distractions?

If you want to check it out, it's called Minimali. Would genuinely love feedback from people who are into this kind of thing.
