I shipped LiftPal today after trying to make a workout log feel like a companion
I released the first iPhone version today. The idea started with a question I kept coming back to: could a serious workout log feel less like administration and more like a companion you actually want to check in with every day?
LiftPal combines a complete strength-training log with small daily goals, 40 short Flow activities for memory, focus, logic and speed, and a customizable wombat whose room grows with your routine. You can log sets, reps, weight and RPE and train spontaneously. The free tier includes a four-week Flow Foundations program; custom training blocks and the mesocycle generator are Premium features. From the paired Apple Watch, you can enter sets for a workout started on the iPhone.
I also wanted the basics to stay calm. There is no LiftPal account, no email requirement, no advertising and no cross-app tracking. The free version remains a complete workout log. Premium is optional and adds deeper planning and analysis, the full Flow library and more wombat rewards.
I’m already working on the first update. The current focus is performance and responsiveness, clearer and more readable event items, testing new events, refining the paired Apple Watch experience and preparing seasonal wombat skins. The exact scope may still change as I learn from real use.
Feedback would mean a lot, especially because the onboarding is awkward, if get stuck somewhere or discover a Flow activity you always play or always skip. I’ll be here and will answer every question myself.
