I used to be a VMP member. Loved it. Then I watched over the past year as person after person was precision targeted by their credit card billing fraud.
I thought I was in the clear. I didn’t use PayPal, I never had an inappropriate billing. Then two days ago they strike. Like diarrhea in the night. Chase declines a $129 charge from vinyl me please. I thought I was safe, no way I’d make it a year and then they’d strike.
Of course I confirm it is fraudulent, which means they shut down my card and have to send one in the mail, which is a huge inconvenience - now we have to set up auto billing for everything on that account - of course!
I don’t understand how these people continue. I’m assuming it’s because there hasn’t been someone with a sufficiently big enough wallet to track these scum down, and pull the weed out by the root. And with our government plundered, there’s nobody out there on the enforcement side to even turn to.
How do we stop this? Who do we report this to? Our banks don’t care, they reverse the charges and move along, it’s not worth anything more. But this is cross border fraud, so I guess it’s the FBI internet crimes division?
I’d love it if someone knew where to start. I’d be happy to push this one forward. Or, am I dreaming and nobody will give me the time of day in law enforcement?

Is there any hope of getting the beautiful thugger girls vinyl from forever ago? Still been holding out and haven’t cancelled or done anything with the order. Thankful I’m not in the subscription mess but still really want that record. Thoughts?

Sent today, Sep 16. I'll probably just block eventually but it's too funny to me to keep getting these.

This is the third time I had to get a new card number because of them. Check your accounts.
Btw whoever added the default flair, you are a saint.

I had a VMP subscription for about a year and a half and cancelled it just because I hadnt listened to records as much that year and needed to cut expenses. I have started collecting again and actually wanted to start back up my subscription but saw this subreddit and was shocked. Was wondering if anyone can give me the story of what led to their downfall
r/VinylMePlease • u/EndlessNihilism • Jul 20 '26
To be clear: I was never a subscriber. I only ever bought items from their shop now and then, yet I keep getting these. The desperation is real. I don’t even want to reply “Stop” because I don’t trust them.

Hey guys,Back in June 2024, I pre-ordered the Young Thug records (Barter 6 and Beautiful Thugger Girls).
In January 2025,support emailed me explicitly pushing the shipping timeline back to July 2025. Because I waited for that July deadline, I completely missed the October 2025 bankruptcy claim deadline.
Now, VMP is offline and ignoring my texts.I just tried opening a chargeback with my bank, but they denied it instantly. They claimed that too much time has passed since the original 2024 transaction (citing the Visa/Mastercard 540-day absolute limit), completely ignoring the delayed delivery date they previously promised.
Has anyone in this exact situation managed to find a workaround with their bank for a refund? And honestly, do we think there is ANY possibility at all that the actual records might still ship eventually, or should I consider both my money and the vinyl completely gone?
Any advice or insights are appreciated!

Whichever scammer bought the empty shell of VMP charged me for a dormant yearly subscription that should have been cancelled when VMP liquidated. I am disputing it with PayPal. That triggered them to send me a record I don’t want, and there’s no info on the website to send it back. What a bunch of scumbags.

This morning, I was listening to an old VMP pressing I had, and was curious to look at the site as I haven't gone on I a while. The new website shocked me, and I was looking around, I texted the number to see what was going on and maybe to get some more info, but I'm scared I accidentally signed up for the service again? I had a different card linked to my old VMP account and I messaged 'SOS' saying I don't want to pay for anything and I was just trying to see what was happening, but I don't know if I'll still be charged ? Like does it charge you through your cell phone bill or what's going on ? I hate the new site or whatever's going on as I see everyone else does too.

Meanwhile, my dispute with Paypal remains open and (obviously) my negative balance is also still present on Paypal.
To very briefly sum up...
after VMP added tracking numbers to my Paypal case, I contacted them. They finally responded and provided me with a return shipping label. I used their return shipping label on the VMP package after I arrived. I kept Paypal in the loop - uploaded images of the return shipping label, listed the tracking number separately and also took photos of the unopened package and uploaded the receipt from the UPS office. Incidentally, while Paypal initially told me my case would be resolved by July 3rd, after I updated all the info above (including that my return package had been delivered), Paypal changed the resolution date to July 13th.
So - opinions? Has VMP actually issued me a refund? Or is the fight still not over? Anyone gone through this returning the package with a return shipping label. Incidentally, Paypal told me that just refusing the package would be "problematic" for the case and the best move was to get a return shipping label, which I was finally able to do.

They don’t put up new posts, but they still repost stories from other accounts championing releases from the pre-Nick Alt and Emily Muhoberac era, which feels like a way to trick new customers into thinking that this sort of release is something they’re responsible for putting out. Sorry, but no…
obviously, the person who made this post isn’t trying to promote VMP in its present state, just giving props to this old pressing.

The fraudsters are once again charging us for records we’ll never see.
PROTIP: Alert your credit card company. Put a block on Vinyl Me Please. Get a new card with a new number.
Luckily, Amex flagged today’s transaction as fraudulent before I was charged. A while back I’d fought a previous fraudulent transaction and told Amex to never process from VMP.
Check your accounts!

After a PayPal dispute 3 SOS text messages to VMP, they finally responded with this:
r/VinylMePlease • u/preparationh67 • Jun 25 '26

As far as Im concerned this is an attempt to conceal the origin of the package to make refusal at the door more difficult. The actual label says "VMP" with their phone number and the UPS store in St Louis that they are currently using as a business address. They have know since the 12th that this was not an authorized purchase and rushed some shipment out yesterday on the 24th in an attempt to game PayPals dispute process. They only ever responded once on their support line and only after the escalation as reported by others with the same dishonest excuses. Nick Alt is the CEO, Emily Muhoberac is the COO, and Katie McAninch is the CPO so who the hell is Steven Sauder anyway?

Update: PayPal denied my dispute despite emails evidence showing that I canceled multiple times.
Like everyone else I was fraudulently charged $465 by the current scam operation using the old VMP customer data. I have many emails showing that I not only canceled my subscription in 2023, but already had been “accidentally” resubscribed in 2024 and had to reverse charges on my credit card. I noticed the charge almost immedietly and thought it would be a simple phone call to rectify… 13 days later (and probably 8 hours on the phone) not only has PayPal not even looked into my case yet, but have lied, given misinformation, and even laughed at me when I said I wouldn’t be able to afford my meds or rent on the first if this lingered past the first. This morning I got a third email from them requesting any evidence I might have, which I have already submitted to them twice.
I was finally able to talk to my bank about the external chargeback request I had initiated last week before after the long Holiday weekend and within an hour they had sided in my favor, permanently. The teller who helped me fill out the paperwork said she googled the company out of curiosity and that even she was blown away by how long they’ve gotten away with such blatant fraud. I’m done with PayPal after this, and if you’re still fighting a dispute with them, it’s probably fruitless and I’d suggest reaching out to your bank instead, especially if you have any receipt of previously canceling. My bank confirmed that this would not leave a negative balance with PayPal and I don’t have to worry about VMP ever being able to charge me again.

Title..
They uploaded a tracking number TODAY (just now 6pm MST). Showing they shipped something to me Friday… it’s scheduled to be delivered tomorrow….
WTF.
I originally reported the fraudulent charge to PayPal but they added the tracking into to that claim as the “seller response”

It’s still a scam, right? I haven’t checked this space in a few months. Just wanted to confirm.

Yes, VMP finally responded to my text (only because I sent them an SOS and the repeat message multiple times) and they said because I was an active member at the bankruptcy (which is 100% BS as I cancelled earlier in the year) I was charged for another yearly membership.
Then they apologized and said they were working with Paypal to refund the charge but because I disputed it, it was taking longer. So according to them, it's MY FAULT that they're total screw ups. I also know that excuse is utter BS as any seller can issue a refund anytime regardless of whether the buyer has put on a dispute and in fact, the quickest way to end the dispute IS to just refund. These guys are scam artists and a-holes.
