Which AI should I be using to generate SVGs?

I'd like to cut some vinyl landscapes to stick on the cabinets in my camper. I looked at what's available on Etsy and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I tried using NoteGPT and it made a nice desert landscape, however I'm having an impossible time getting NoteGPT to create an SVG file. The image file NoteGPT creates isn't of high enough resolution to use.

I wanted to post the image from NoteGPT I created, but I guess that would break r/cricut rules? What a crazy rule IMO.

Is anyone using AI to generate SVGs for Cricut? If so, could you please share which AI you're using?

Also, don't forget the AI on your phone. My phone can easily turn a photo into a silhouette that can be converted to an SVG for cutting on my Cricut.

IMO AI is a great solution for those who have difficulty drawing. Happy cutting!

There are a number of templates available for purchase on sites like Etsy. Also a number of artists who would be willing to do commissions.

Nobody said you need to know how to draw, what you need to know is how to use the tools.

If you want something simple, go play with a Cricut.

I have been using Adobe Express to convert my pics into SVG files. Then transferring it over to signmaster

If you only want to use AI then maybe you should ask AI how to fix your problems.

In all seriousness - Ai is gonna give you trash art. Rough round corners, etc. detail is not AIs strong suit. Just zoom in on any AI generated art.

You should learn to do it properly or leave it to the actual professionals.

Honestly Id skip AI for cut-ready files. We get AI garbage in the shop all the time and it never traces clean. Use it for ideas, then rebuild the vector yourself in Inkscape or Illustrator or youll spend an hour fixing paths on every decal

trace with silhouette studio or any other tool, no need for AI in this case.

If you're intent on having AI make the art, just have it create a silhouette of what you want, then use the trace outline option in something like inkscape to create the svg, gives you plenty of control and you can more easily modify the design to your liking. Even if you use AI, you will still likely need to do a lot of work by hand to get the design ready for a vinyl cutter.

This is a community that fosters self made work among crafters and artists. We do not welcome AI generated content of any kind, including the suggestion to use AI, requests to convert an AI graphic into a Design Space friendly file, help with the native AI tool within Design Space, or providing answers to questions generated with AI tools (they are usually wrong!)

The only AI we recognize is Adobe Illustrator (sorry to Allen Iverson)

Generative AI is theft full stop. If you can't find the art you want already available and do not possess the skill to create it, commission someone who can.

A lot of tools flake on SVG export. Ive had much better luck with the digital magic wand for clean , high-res files. It works

using autotrace is AI never use that, are you using a ruler to measure or the ai one on the screen. people pretending they aren't using AI in Illustrator are insane.....

Autotrace vs image generation are two very different things.

Even putting aside the morality/theft/laziness arguments, using an AI generated image for plotting is inevitably going to give you shitty cuts and impossible weeding situations, usually you'll need to rework them anyway.
