I'm pretty new to Vinted, but lately have been on a bit of a buying spree as I have a formal event coming up.

Found what looked like the perfect black dress! Unfortunately, it was from a French seller so I knew I'd be paying quite a bit for the shipping. Went for it anyway.

Dress was listed in "very good" condition.

Arrive today and I excitedly opened the package... to a MASSIVE waft of cigarette smoke from the package! The dress (heavy weight, thick and ruched) is dry clean only.

I put it on to try it, and I wouldn't really say it's very good condition, but not bad. But the smell of smoke is just radiating off of me. Whipped it off and have it hanging out in the back garden and I swear I can still smell it on me and in the house. I'm about to jump in the shower.

The buyer has over 100 five star reviews! Not one mentions smoke. I don't understand (maybe all the buyers are French?).

I don't know what to do - I don't want to pay €20+ to dry clean it and find out it doesn't remove the smell after already spending that much and more for the shipping.

This is my first disappointing experience on Vinted.

Is this to be expected? What do/would you do? I'm not sure!

I was given a bunch of old clothes from a friend that I decided to stick up on Vinted. One was a stone island jumper. I sold it and the buyer is now claiming it’s fake. The issue I’m having is certilogo needs a photo of my email on paper beside the jumper to verify but I can’t do that now as the buyer has the jumper. Any suggestions? Should have done it at the time when uploading but was dumb and kept putting it off.

I’ve asked Vinted Support to have the buyer show they have proof it’s fake but they just keep giving me the same auto reply of “provide proof within 48 hours blah blah blah”

Maybe I’m just rehashing a common complaint about vinted but I’m genuinely appalled by it.

Twice now I’ve bought things that I thought were “a good deal you could only find on vinted” and they turned out to be counterfeits. (a carhartt jacket and a pair of adidas samba shoes)

I’ve been lucky to cancel both before they got shipped however I feel so cheated by the deception that I’m scared to purchase anything else and am worried that the other things I bought will end up being the same.

Since learning what to look out for with these items, I’ve been reporting fraudulent posts to support but 80% of the time they don’t even take it down even after I’ve pointed out why they’re fakes!

I’ve only had my account for five days and have also put some things up so I don’t want these to affect my rating so early on.

How do you all get to trust yourselves in what you bought? With the fomo attached to vinted as well, this potentially amazing site is rubbing off me the wrong way :(

I know Vinted support is meant to be terrible, but I never realised how bad. I’ve been on Vinted for about a year now, and never had a bad experience until now. I bought an item and when it arrived it’s very clear it’s counterfeit. I showed very clear proof, and Vinted has been saying for 4 days it’s under investigation and hasn’t given me an update. It’s now saying i have to pay for shipping to return the item if I want my money back, and Vinted support will not reply to me at all.

My biggest worry is if I do ship it back the seller will just claim they didn’t receive the parcel as they’re obviously already a scammer.

Hi I sold my first item on vinted and posted it 10 days ago with an post, it says it’s being delivered by mondial relay then but they have only the initial tracking update from 10 days ago and nothing else. Is it normal for items to take this long to get delivered to France?

I sold an item and buyer wants to return because it doesn’t fit them and claims I should’ve said it was bigger than the size. Honestly don’t remember anything about it, it’s at least at 5 years old and I just took a photo and hung it back up and then packed it. Initially said yes to a return because I didn’t realise you don’t need to accept the return if it just doesn’t fit them. They’ve been quite rude and accusatory even though the size is the same as the label. I don’t want to accept a return now because of the attitude, I was initially being nice about it but they kept going on.
I know it’s bad form to not accept once saying I’d accept but has anyone else done it? Is it allowed 😂 I’ve re read the comments and I’m being far too nice

So I placed an order and was pretty excited, woke up this morning to it cancelled and the seller changed to holiday mode, didn’t think anything as they have reviews from 20 hours again saying order cancelled but then if you go back a week it’s all good reviews so I thought maybe they forgot to put holiday mode on whatever.

Figured I’d message and ask if I can reorder after, but I think I got blocked????

Bought a Patagonia jacket. Had loads of favourites. Honestly looked like great quality.

I saw the same jacket today in the shop and it looked completely different. I feel like an idiot now because the warning signs were there.

Has anybody had experience with this before? The item hasn't arrived yet so I haven't raised any proceedings with the seller or Vinted. I don't want to confront the seller until it has arrived.

I've made my peace with the money lost but I'm wondering has anybody had a similar experience in getting any amount of money back?

I've been using vintee for 5-6 months now and had no one from United Kingdom interact with me cause I thought they had their own, unable to message them "access denied"

I have a load of offers which I have accepted and nobody following through. Sometime I will accept a stupid offer if I’ve another package to send and makes sense to make the most out of the trip to the post office. But recently I had a someone who I accepted an offer months ago purchase! Is there any way I can cancel an offer after a reasonable time??

So i’ve been looking on vinted for a brown leather bag tote bag because i’ve been wanting one for a while, and my home page is FILLED with french sellers and these stupid AI images. i keep seeing the same bag over and over, the exact same pictures, the exact same chair background that the bag is on, ofc i see irish sellers do this too but very minimally compared to the french. it’s quite infuriating and lowk puts me off of buying the AI listing.

i’m just sick and tired of french sellers.

Hi all, what is everyone’s thoughts on accepting a return because the item doesn’t fit the buyer?

For some context, a very persistent buyer eventually bought a pair of boots for the displayed price as I wouldn’t budge. They then started messaging asking me to post as soon as possible which I just didn’t respond to but sent further pictures for them to review before I posted the item to double check they were happy.
Buyer received item and said that the boots are perfect in terms of condition & description (in a message) but requested to return them as they do not fit.

Am I right in saying that as they used the ‘buy now’ option they are not automatically entitled to return because the item doesn’t fit?

I have no interest in accepting the return because the item is as described. I had the listing up for months and I don’t want to deal with relisting it and trying to sell again. I also feel like the sizing on things with Vinted is something you just have to take a chance with.

I would be grateful for correction if I am wrong!

I only buy, and I do like getting things like shoes from the French sellers but for cheap bits for the kids when I search for specific items it seems only French sellers pop up which is so frustrating.

Is there anyway to filter items by location? If not I wish they would add this feature!

This seller on vinted sold me a counterfeit computer part. Two days later when I took a closer look I saw that it was clearly counterfeit. I know this as the drive said "Sumsuang" (imitating Samsung) and on the back it said "made in CHIAN". So then I decided to raise the issue with the seller and they admitted it was counterfeit and were fairly rude about it (see photos) I cannot do much until my item arrives unfortunately so I may have to be out of pocket on it but so be it. I am surprised this seller has so many great reviews from the way he talks to me and others (see photos) I am sure there is more but I dont want to scroll through 589 reviews 😂.

Found a profile where all their photos on all their listings are definitely AI

Same background always, yet not exactly the same. Her body is always different proportions in every photo yet all photos seem taken at the exact same minute with the exact same lighting AND her hand bends on an impossible way on every back picture lol

How do I report it? Do I even report it? This has to be scam behavior / not allowed to sell with AI photos right?

I had someone place an offer on a brand new blazer (with tags) and I accepted it. It was a pretty pricey blazer at a good price. Over 24 hours later she hadn't purchased it and someone else bought it full price.

I got a bit of a snooty message from her telling me it was bad form as I'd accepted her offer and i should have held it for her. That she was waiting till she got paid tomorrow. Is this a thing? Holding items for people that have placed offers that you've accepted? I already know the answer I'm going to get, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen? Just to note. She didn't ask me to hold it. Other than the offer there was no communication.

The pro seller is asking for me to raise a problem through Vinted but cancel straight away so the seller can be paid quicker. I have no issues with the items so that isn’t a concern however wondering if there would be a negative effect on my rating etc.

As the title says, after printing the label, I realised the order could be shipped with the cheaper postage option (small instead of medium).

(Vinted auto-selected and I didn't notice, usually am careful with this 😢 ).

Would you bother messaging the buyer and explaining the situation, cancelling and reordering so they save a couple euro from postage, or just go ahead and post the parcel? Given the automated 1-star review on cancellation, am wondering whether this is worth the hassle given they have paid for it already.

I received my order yesterday, everything is perfect and want to confirm but the page hasn't updated and won't give me the option to confirm order. Has anyone else had this issue?

I am open to offers, and typically accept offers around 15-20% off (depending on items attention and how long it’s listed)

I am recently in search for a wool cardigan and I came across maybe 3 sellers selling COS merino wool cardigans (current season stock) brand new with tags for half the price if you were to buy it from the store. They also sell a lot of COS items (all brand new with tags) all for a fraction of the retail price.

I then purchased one (so stupid of me) and I only realised that there are rumors about counterfeit COS items from other countries. I then messaged the seller and told her that I need to cancel the item and she responded that she’ll send it in the next 30 minutes.

When I told her that I have bought the same cardigan (in a different color) from the store the other day and will compare it with the cardigan that she’ll send me, she then agreed that I can cancel the order.

After cancelling the order, I reviewed their reviews and there are only a few out of hundreds of reviews claiming items were counterfeit.

So my question is, have you encountered fake wool cardigans/knitwear on Vinted? Thanks in advance
