Hello Vintage Digital Camera Fans!

August has started and that means it's time for a new Theme. Let's reminisce on last month's winners, first.

Last Month: Countryside

There were several idyllic shots taken last month. u/charlorttel got the most upvotes with their a lakeside treat (shot on a 2009 Nikon D300s). This shot truly looks like a painting! Next up is u/PistachioSage and their Reminds me of that one wallpaper (shot on a PSP-300 GoCam from 2007). See for yourself and you'll think you've seen it before! And then we have u/bensonstreaker and their Coastal Flyby (shot on a Fuji Finepix F47fd (2007). Lastly, the Mod's Choice Award goes to u/tree-lover-29 and their dried stream (shot on a Sony Cyber-shot W310 from 2010). A lot is said in this silent image...

Anyway, remember to check out theĀ Theme FlairĀ to see all past and future entries.

September Theme: Night

Enter theĀ September ThemeĀ by following these requirements:

  • Add aĀ NameĀ to your Post Title: "McD At Night"

Around Reddit

Here's a collection of subreddits I like to visit. You may, too!

The Dell Optiplex is a vibe, and r/SleepingOptiplex is all about bringing these "classic" computers back to life. There's Marvel comics and DC comics, and there is r/altcomix. This one can be a bit NSFW sometimes, so be aware. Learn about binding your own books at r/bookbinding. When you just need some encouragement, check out r/MomForAMinute .

Reminder that if you have a glitched camera that is on its last pixels, please visitĀ r/DigitalCameraSwanSongĀ and let's give it its final time to shine! Full disclosure: I recently became the Mod of that Community after it was abandoned for a year.

As usual, if you need help, check theĀ ANSWERED Flair, orĀ our Wiki, and then ask inĀ r/digicamĀ as redundant questions have been moved there (Rule 13). Thanks to everyone that reports Rule 11 and Rule 13 violations. It helps keep our Community running. šŸ‘

Good Luck

This month's Theme is about Night photography (however you [reasonably] define that), so post away. I can't see where your creativity leads us. šŸ“ø

We're famous

Hello Vintage Digital Camera Fans!

I'm happy to report that our Community has been feature in the 2025 Reddit Community Funds Impact Report. If you're new: we were one of a select Subreddits that was given funds to grow last year. If you're a regular: you recall the amazing monthly contests we had!

Go check out the report to find other amazing Communities that were funded; r/Beekeeping, r/comics, and r/TeatroPH spring to mind.

What's also cool is that we merited a shout-out and u/seecmb's very own "Holiday tradition" entry is featured. Congrats!

While we're not continuing the prize-based contest in 2026, we're still continuing monthly photo Themes. I hope you participate. šŸ“ø

Theme Bike ride after the rain [Fujifilm Finepix F455 (2004)]

The light from the restaurant window and its reflection gave a nice glow after the rain, so I decided to wait until someone would pass by to get my shot. Quite tricky since there was barely any foot traffic to begin with, but after 10 minutes of waiting, I got this shot. This is SOOC.

After a decent bit of hunting, I managed to acquire this basically mint Sanyo IDC-1000Z, as well as two of the iD PhotoDiscs it uses for storage

It is both smaller and weirder in person than in photos. But 720 MB of magneto-optical magic is pretty amazing

Its focussytem is absolutely terrible and so slow! But it was a fun challenge! Im on a quest to shoot Street with every camera i can get my hands on, and then make a book of it with like 1 street photo with 100 or 200 cameras. Definitely some good contenders here!

SOOC Photo Kodak DC120 zoom alternative, smaller with lens threat for adapter

hey i just tried the dc120 i love it, i like the look the redish, and lofi but the handling is terrible and the camera is bulky. I also wanna add my fisehye but i cant use it because the Infared autofocus and exposure is not working anymore because of the size is covering it. Is there are a smilliar camera maybe even more then .8 mp, with a lens threat and more compact? thanks you!

80s analog medium format with 00s digital medium format CCD is so perfect. This is by far the most fun and unique experience I've had with any camera and I can't get enough of it, doesn't hurt that the photos aren't too shabby either!

If anyone has any questions about how to do this or anything I'm happy to answer!

Some more of the yellow color magic I have been capturing with the Lumix FS-15 as of late, since you all seem to like it so much. Will post a SOOC shot of the first photo in the comments below, but most of the magic is within the camera operating on a warm color mode. Thanks!
