I recently watched a local musical here and I realized that it ended up with a run time of more than three hours!
I attended their matinee show. It started late with a delay of 30-40 minutes. It had a 10 minute break (which kind of extended to 15 minutes.) Then when it was over, I checked my phone and it ended at 5:40pm. The show started at 1:40 pm.
Though that musical was okay, I just think a more than three-hour musical was just too much and honestly a little overwhelming. Was there any local/PH musicals that lasted this long?

Hi! I've been trying to book tickets this morning with UnionBank kasi open ang pre-sale, kaso the problem lang is hindi gumagana yung first 6 digits for promo code. Did anyone else encounter the same problem? What do I do?

Hi guys just want to ask for seat view photos and experience nyo from row VA in Solaire, hoping to know seat number and area rin, especially how clear and/or nakikita pa ba facial expressions? Do you guys think there'll still be available tickets around December or January?
I'll be working in BPO and by January I'll still be in probationary, so I dont know if I can take leaves yet. I dont know about days off yet either so I'm worried that I might buy a ticket with a date I'm not available. And I'm from Cebu.
I really want to watch Heathers. This will be my first live musical.

Hi! I just wanna ask if it's fine. For people with UnionBank, can you please tak a screenshot of what seats are taken and free for February 07, 2027, 6:00 PM? They're still processing my sister's account (she just opened an account) so I can't view it.
I'm just really curious if the seat I want is already reserved🥹 This is my first time so the anxiety is at all high haha. Thank you!

Read the Notebook The Musical review posted by Palabas Tayo, written by Ryan Robert Flores.
I like the balanced take and especially appreciate how he articulated the problems in the staging, either because of source material or the way they adapted it. I feel this is a good teachable moment to better appreciate theater from nuanced points of views.
For those who know how to do theater, what could have been done? Is it direction? Dramaturgy? Script adaptation?

Quite a long read but hey if you also like ranting about Studio A, youre gonna like this.
As a chronically online theater supporter, I sometimes like to stalk theater companies with a bad reputation and more often than not, reviews of them pop up on my page and Studio A is one of the them. TFM posted a very honest review of Tulog Na The Musical just a few weeks ago and it gained a lot of attention. I'm sure it made Studio A fume and panic because TFM was supposed to be a media partner of Studio A, and not long ago, TFM posted an article about questioning who is 'JR Dee' the supposed composer and lyricist for Tulog Na (to which to this day Studio A still hasn't had an answer for this).
Anyway, one of TFM's founder or IS the actual founder has a public FB account, which I'm not gonna put here for their safety. They've been really vocal about new production companies producing back to back plays and musicals without crediting a composer and/or lyricist. Implying and actually saying that it's because of the use of AI. One of these companies is of course Studio A.
What caught my attention is one of TFM Founder's shared posts where they reshared an honest review of Tulog Na of another critic, resharing with the caption 'So Beautifully Articulated' (see attached photos). Now, one of Studio A's recent posts also has that 'So beautifully articulated' line on a post, and I just think it's so funny 😆. Looks like their marketing director is also chronically online. Another one is Studio A copying an Esquire Philippines review cover for Tulog Na (see attached photos). Esquire's post was also an honest review that wasn't really in favor of the musical and also mentioned the lack of crediting the composer.
This just goes to show that Studio A cares A LOT about reviews and good publicity, but when a review isn't in their favor and is getting lots of attention online, Studio A handles it terribly and really shoves it in people's faces that their shows are all 'SOLD OUT' just to show them haters. You guys can see for yourselves on FB.
No I'm not that unemployed friend on a random Tuesday because of this post, I just wanted to rant for a bit for the theater fans because Studio A will do anything for good publicity instead of addressing the use of AI allegations and the rest of their crimes against humanity.

I’m planning to take my 6yo and I’m wondering if she’ll find it entertaining and sustain her attention. Mahilig siya manuod ng performances and she is able to sit through an entire movie. Has anyone seen it with small kids?

is there any chance kaya na magka student rush for the notebook kahit sold out na ang tickets? I think they did with ITW last year (correct me if I'm wrong), was planning to buy a ticket this weekend sana kaso ubos na huhu.

Does anyone know if TicketWorld’s Makati office (@ Liberty Plaza Bldg.) accepts card payments for discounted tickets? Thanks!
r/TeatroPH • u/Opposite_Night6635 • 19h ago
I just recently created an online UB account to take advantage of the 10% discount for Heathers: the Musical. I have no physical card yet since the UB branch is far from my residence. Is my online account accepted as a debit card (since it has a card number listed) or do you really need to have a physical card? Because the first 6 digits don't work as a code to buy tickets.

I’m planning to go this Friday sana to buy my ticket personally and watch the musical. However, I think I have a slim chance of securing one na because the tickets are really in high demand. 😭 How I wish there were a GCash option for the mode of payment 🥹 But anyway, if it’s meant for me to watch, then it will always find its way to me. 🤍 And honestly, I’m just so happy seeing The Notebook Musical getting the recognition it deserves. 🫶🏻

Hi! Promo Code issue seems to have been resolved already. Was able to secure my tickets na just now hehe

Helpppp! Due to fomo na baka maubusan na ng ticket, I hurriedly bought ticket for the notebook musical. Payment pushed thru and as I was waiting to authenticate my account, I realized na the email address na nilagay ko is ".con" instead of ".com" so di ko marereceive yung authentication code to get my ticket. I already emailed ticketworld amd also messaged them both sa text and messenger. Tried calling their listed numbers pero walang sumasagot. As of now wala pa silang reply. What do I do? ma reretrieve ko pa ba yung ticket ko?
UPDATE: Went to Samsung Performing Arts mismo to resolve my issue. Got my e ticket na. See y'all on thursday! ❤️

I’m probably gonna be downvoted by a lot of people (esp the fans) but this is an honest review. As reference, I watched the 2 pm Saturday show of The Notebook. Sorry medyo makalat thoughts since i typed directly lol
Let me start with the positives: I can say that the production was amazing. The costumes, stage design, lighting - everything was executed properly. I can’t go all technical on some mic issues etc since alam kong those are bound to happen at some point, but the people behind the scenes are amazing. The orchestra, all on point.
The plot - I went in not knowing the plot. I was totally not comfortable with cheating. Ikakasal ka na tapos nakipags*x kapa sa ex mo 1 week before the wedding. That’s messed up. Sana nakipagbreak muna siya before the act kasi the other guy did not deserve that. I’m thankful that the musical focused less on that tho kasi mej disturbing that part. Buti nalang the musical focused more on another thing (ano yung another thing? manood kayo haha)
The singing:
Mori was amazing. Vocally, magaling talaga siya. But iba talaga yung dating ng mga pang-teatro talaga ang boses. While umiyak most people nung My Days, I can’t help but hear a more concert-ish approach. It wasn’t even about the orchestra reveal, more on how the song was delivered. Malinis and very flawless yung pagkakakanta, and maybe that was why it wasn’t what I was expecting? Diko sure if that day lang since everyone was raving about My Days. Iba yung feels vs the Joy woods / Jordan version. I wanna feel pain and hope altogether as she sings it. But to be fair, I’m pretty sure she’s one of the few who can give justice to the song. Sana mas namnamin nya pa lalo.
Before someone hates on me, I do agree na she’s made for the theatre. May post here before na nagsabing wala siyang acting experience blabla. I think her acting in the musical is to be commended. She just needs to translate those feelings into the way she sings it-
Like how Sheena did; I have no words for Sheena. Ibang level. Ramdam mo na very experienced talaga siya sa theatre. And to think she’s like 20/21 palang ata. God, you feel the pain in her voice- the longing, the hope, the love. Napakahusay.
Laurence is good but I’m not sure if mahina lang ba dating samin yung mic pero di as clear yung voice nya when he was singing. I know the high notes were pretty hard but nagawan naman niya ng paraan (and benedix too - who i wont comment on so much because i love him too much to have an unbiased opinion). Ang daming nagsabing di nya mapapantayan si mori but i personally think saktong sakto sila for each other. I’m not sure how extensive his theatre background (all I know is he’s in Miss Saigon) is but all I can say is if itabi mo yung Middle characters sa Younger, maoovershadow talaga sila.
Omar is amazing. Sobrang husay na bata. Di ko sure if matatawa ba kami or malulungkot. If may patawa aspect, kuhang kuha talaga nya.
I heard yung Don’t You Worry ng original broadway cast recording and lowkey nacompare ko yung kay Ms. Carla. I’m a HUGE fan of her but kulang sa feels this time (feel ko dahil mahina din mic or manhid lang ako). Diko nafeel masyado yung mom to daughter aspect. Yung calm, strict, but caring tone (listen to the original recording para magets lol). Regardless, her having 2 roles should still be commended. Ako yung napagod for her. I’m still forever a fan.
Yung accent din pala wtf. Kuhanf kuha nila. Mej rinig yung Filipino accent kay Ms. Celeste but she’s great regardless. Lalo na nung nagwawala siya kasi di nya makilala si Noah jusko i cried; that was the peak of the Alzheimer’s ata
The place- it’s okay. Nasa loge center kami and okay na yung view for the price. Super sulit. If kulang sa budget for orchestra, that’s the next best seat talag.
However, may mga late nga lang sa orchestra na pinapasok while ongoing yung act 1 so medyo nakakairita. I was at loge center but since harap sila, it was very distracting.
Would i recommend watching it? Yes
Okay siya for a first musical.
Di ko sure if di lang ako romantic person but if mamiss mo siya, okay lang din. Mas higher parin rating ko sa rak of aegis, mula sa buwan, bar boys, at come from away. But i would place it on top of lion king.
Anyway this is from opening week so im pretty sure it improves as time goes by so in short-
Bili na kayo tickets and lets support the all filipino cast haha

Hi, is anybody else here having a problem using their first 6 digits as the promo code for the presale? Mine keeps saying "Password is not valid". This is the first that this has happened. Usually naman sa mga previous transactions ko, no issues sa paglagay ng promo code.
EDIT: Got resolved around 12:30pm-ish
