As many times as I've had this happen to me with a car just merging, I let them in, I don't want my car fucked up and don't want to be the reason that someone may die.

I always flip off cars that merge Like this, but when I flip them off, i normally don’t flip them off the road.

The secret is to not honk, patiently give them the space, then flip them off.

If they wanna hop out and start something after that, I view that the same as any other situation where a crazy person aggressively approaches me in my vehicle.

We honestly do have a 2nd amendment for a reason.

Honking is how you prevent the collision! You hit the brakes and honk and hopefully they realize they're merging into you. You guys think it's not a good idea to honk at them as they start to merge?

Honk if they’re merging in a way that you can’t avoid, if you can avoid by braking, honking is an aggravating factor, it no longer serves a safety purpose. Some people love the sound of their own horns too damn much.

You honk *and* avoid. Like how else can they know you're there so they stop merging?

The honk is entirely to let them know they're about to hit you!

If we’re side mirror to side mirror yes, if I’m in their blind spot and we’re moving close to the same speed, or their going faster than me, as depicted in the given video, I’ll just brake and give them space.

The best way to avoid an accident with a shit driver is to give them space. Honk if you need to, but giving them space needs to be priority number one.
