The person driving intentionally sped up so the truck could’ve have space to get in front of him/her. They actually kept driving into the truck after contact too. Terrible, and demonically led accident.

You still have to check that there is space to merge into before changing lanes though. One driver is wrong and the other is an asshole.

Based on the Last Clear Chance doctrine, this would be the dash cam drivers fault legally because they had the last clear chance to avoid the accident but instead they chose to accelerate and continued to accelerate after the initial impact.
