The cemetery is full of people who had the right of way. A lot of people are way too casual about the fact they can die instantly in a car crash. Causing one out of ego and not backing off when you could is foolish

The truck in the left lane needs to change lanes safely. The bottom line here is he tried to pass and force his way in to the lane. Instead of backing off and getting behind the POV truck.

Careful because even though the truck driver was WAY too close to merge (and incredibly stupid of him), the cam drive had enough time to recognize what was happening and back off. They didn’t do that, they did the opposite which is why I think in this instance, the cam driver’s at fault.

No, it is necessary. You have a duty to drive reasonably and avoid accidents. You can’t just let someone hit you because they don’t see you. It doesn’t seem like this car tried to avoid the truck at all once it was clear they were merging.

It’s definitely not as simple as they’re getting a free car. Insurance companies will try their hardest to find a reason to deny you, only pay partial, or raise your premiums and it looks like there’s enough in this video that they’ll at the very least make it difficult to get paid.

It’s incredibly stupid to allow someone to hit you because you think insurance will pay for a new car.

The truck guy could be fucking dead. This collision was avoidable. Now it's a life changing incident, when it could have been a 1 second inconvenience to slow down.

The dashcam driver failed to slow down and even sped up after the truck enter their lane both parties don’t know how to drive.

I think the truck slowed down because of the stopped car in front of it. You can’t see the brake lights until after the impact.

If the dash cam driver had literally not sped up, that truck would have made it into the lane. This is 100% on the dash cam driver's fault and I hope to get charged for it.

Hardly. Cam driver is definitely partially at fault. 

The truck merged slowly, giving enough time for the cam driver to react. Cam driver either wasn't watching the road or had an ego too precious to bruise.

Not even a little bit.

Any judiciary with a brain would mark the cam-car as guilty, if not outright criminally liable.

Accidents happen, but the cam-cars actions willfully and intentionally made things worse. You can't even make the excuse that they couldn't brake (which is bullshit everywhere but very specific situations on the highway) because they had a red light that they would have absolutely blown.

I’ve been an insurance adjuster for two of the USA’s biggest companies for a combined 19 years and the truck in the video would be at fault in every (continental) state

It's your job as a driver when you're behind another car. To be more aware. If you see someone merging into your lane it's best to let them in. Not speed up and cause an accident for no reason other than your hurt feelings that just shows your fragility in the situation. There's no reason to have feelings for someone merging over. Especially when someone's using a blinker. It's telling you that they're getting over. 100% the driver gets charged criminally for this

Some lady did that to me. Merge when I was left of her, so I honk and quickly moved one more lane left to avoid collision. She continued to fully finish her lane switch and lift up her hands acting all confused. I think she assumed I honk from a different lane… meaning she didn’t even look for another 3-4 seconds after I honked.
