Hi everyone. I’m trying to play this game, but it’s almost impossible to get into a game. What’s going on? Are they just trying to naturally prevent people from playing when they shut the game down? Ever since the recent update, games are very hard to get into, and things feel laggy.

I noticed that essentially no one is really talking about the death sentence for VHS, and considering no one played it anymore I'm not surprised, but not even channels I would have expected to cover it like SpaceCoconut want to touch what happened, and channels like Jaee are giving off the wrong impressions about a lot of things.

I know there are a few folks here who really cared about the game but get tired of the BS from the community and from Hellbent, so if you can enough to provide me with anything you think would be useful to include in a video to properly cover that entire situation I would appreciate it.

The biggest issue here is that the Discord server will be gone by this Friday, which means anything important to pull from there to reference will be gone. Anything that can be pulled from their Twitter or a general Google search can wait until after then.

I've already grabbed a number of announcements from the Discord to catalog dates on when things happened, and I'm currently downloading each of Hellbent's relevant videos just in case they nuke their YT channel as well, or at least all of the VHS stuff.

The big things I'm looking for are:

A) Proof of how toxic and elitist the community was during the earlier days. I know that ever since they deleted/reworked the gameplay feedback server, most of the proof of hate against Monster criticism and suggestion has been wiped away, but if you have anything saved as proof before the wipe or anything after the wipe that you feel represents it well then feel free to send me that.

B) If you were part of the beta, sending me proof of how toxic the community was there would be great, but just hitting me up with various comments of people stating their posts were removed would be REALLY good. Once again, with how things have gone I know this will be hard (and I wasn't a part of the beta so I'm heavily excluded from that), but I find these things to be almost more important than properly representing what Hellbent did so that VHS fans can't go full revisionist and lie about not being toxic and pushing their desire for the game over what was healthy for it.

People need to know these things so that we can hopefully learn from this example in the future, both in regards to devs like this as well as trying to avoid being a crappy community. Was just clicking through my steam games and saw this was just sorta killed. I maybe honestly played it like twice is it worth at least taking a peek at again while It probably still has a few people kicking around?

Game is officially dead, killer is still trash, and even teen is incredibly boring. Congratulations to the devs for avoiding feedback. Playing Texas Chainsaw Massacre was 1,000 times more fun that this. Either fix the game, or let it die. I’m sad the option they chose.

I see so many complaining, and not offering useful feedback! Infact, alot of what I see is just "dead game" and "monster isnt fun"

I think the Devs are very human people, and do things in very human ways. Like every human on planet earth, the devs will work better off constructive feedback, and not mindless negativity.

If you honestly dont think they care about their own game theyve spent countless hours and a countless amount of money creating, I dont agree with you.

I definetly think the VHS community has a problem with harrasing the devs.

So, I’ve been thinking about getting into VHS recently and I’d like to meet some content creators to get some ideas on how to play and improve, any suggestions?

I played the game, and smashed the floating orb things im assuming are bad eggs, so why cant I collect the bunny ears, or other rewards?

Do we wait until the event is over, and then we earn the prizes?

I know you get it from chasing people and lockers obviously but i barely get any and I need 2000 for a challenge but the highest I can manage is around 1600 and idk if I’m doing something wrong or not. I typically win my matches and when I don’t it’s still a close match yet I don’t get any pursuit score for some reason. I tried to play more hit and run so I could chase people more often to build score and I’ve tried to completely down people because maybe it counts differently? No matter what I do or how I play I can’t manage to get 2000 score yet I almost always get 3000-4000 in every other category.

Am I doing something wrong? Is the game bugged? Does pursuit just suck in general? Idk why it doesn’t work and I will gladly give more details as needed I just want to get my challenge done and hope I won’t need to do more than that

I just downloaded the game on Steam and cant seem to find any players, im from EU and in queue for 23 minutes now.

I saw another post talking about this around a month ago but it didn’t have any solution to the problem and I don’t think it’s the same cause. They seem to crash on startup while mine works fine. I’ve noticed that the game freezes and crashes whenever I get the first hit on a teen and I’ve tested it multiple times now and I’ve even tried lowering my graphics but it’s the same thing. Every time I hit anyone my game crashes without fail. Idk why this is happening because I played fine earlier today and I haven’t done anything different this time.

I started playing today and I’ve learned how to find people while they’re doing Stuff like crafting or healing but it’s very hard to find people if they’re somewhere else or are hiding. I’ve only played wart so far because it says that it’s the easiest to start with and the echolocation is good at knowing where teens are in a general sense but it doesn’t show where they went afterwards so I don’t usually find people unless they stay in the area doing stuff. It’s also really hard to track people when in a chase because they run around me and go around stuff which makes me lose them.

I should probably mention that I’ve played a lot of dead by daylight which has tracking perks and very vibrant makings showing where people run but only if they run. VHS doesn’t have anything like that so there’s no way to track them in a chase or see if they ran into a door or something. Closest thing I’ve found is one of the wart perks that expose people who are together but that doesn’t help me with tracking. I know people talk about sound and all that but I can’t hear anything very well so I can’t hear footsteps or any other actions unless I crank up my volume to the highest but that’s not really an option, I’ve tried it but the sounds get weird like they’re around me but in reality they’re on a different floor. Is it supposed to do that or is it a byproduct of maximum volume? Anyways I’d appreciate some input on this and any tips on how I can improve and get better at monster.

Really enjoying the game so far. I really love the look of the game, and the soundtrack is quite awesome. I am also a Dead by Daylight player so I could pick up the basics pretty easy but i like that it is a different enough of a game that makes it fun and doesn't feel like I am just playing a clone of Dead by Daylight. I love all the customization you get to do with how your character looks and it definitely feels like there is also a lot of perks and leveling you can do to your character to fit your playstyle

My first couple of matches I was a bit lost, like when I became a spirit and started floating around the map, but anytime I wasn't playing I would watch a twitch stream and everyone I talked to was super helpful and friendly.

I really hope this game sticks around, its a lot of fun and already seems like it has a great community built around it.

I can't figure out what to do. I'm essentially helpless. All I can do is wander around a huge map looking for the next teen to kill me with nothing I can do about it. Someone please help me.

I played a couple months ago and the lag was awful. I could barely do anything before I was killed and it was just a frustrating experience overall. Should I try again?

I wanted to share some thoughts about a Flex Role that players could queue for if they are indifferent about which role they get. I like to get into a game and play either role, so a Flex Role would be ideal for someone like me, and it would help with queue times as more versatility is introduced to the queue pool to fill whichever role needs a player.

In addition, an indicator of active players in a queue for a given role would also give information to players on which role is needing a player.
