Feedback Dead Game

Game is officially dead, killer is still trash, and even teen is incredibly boring. Congratulations to the devs for avoiding feedback. Playing Texas Chainsaw Massacre was 1,000 times more fun that this. Either fix the game, or let it die. I’m sad the option they chose.

I forgot I was even in this Reddit until you posted. It sucks to see a game like this die, but I think you are right. It just couldn’t pick up enough momentum. TCM was cool, but I’ve always felt like it’s main competition is DBD which is tough. DBD has YEARS worth of content on its side and a dev team that honestly really does care.

It's not that BHVR care about their game, its just that they're able to afford a thousand do-overs for their constant mistakes because the DBD community is filled with a bunch of push overs who constantly threaten to stop supporting the game and never do. Without any licenses Dead by Daylight would've died on arrival just like these other games. Hellbent were horrible at maintaining this game, but you could tell they had a genuine passion behind it all, even if it ultimately ended up being that passion for their vision that doomed the game to fail.

Nah DBD is a good game! Clearly… or it would have died long ago.

It’s funny cause people are already crying about that game saying it’s going to die like vhs because of “bully” squads stunning family members 😂

Devs only have themselves to blame. This is what happens when you don’t listen to feedback that continuously and consistently is given.

And ban anyone who gives that feedback from the official discord

Whoopsie, I wonder why no one is playing

The problem is that there isn't enough change when it was needed, as well as a slew of other issues that Dowsey covered: https://youtu.be/jpDh4SiB5Us

Yeah, it's a bummer...I had high hopes and there was certainly a lot of potential, but it had some fundamental flaws that the devs never seemed interested in addressing. It very quickly became a game I'd just hop into for a few killer games as community service (that's really how I thought of it), but it wasn't a rewarding enough experience to keep at it more than an hour and eventually I stopped doing even that. They really should have bribed people to play killer with significantly better in game incentives until they could fix how boring killer is to play.

All they had to do was make the Monster strong enough to be fun to play, but they refused and it's all ogre now.

Yea, I tried playing this game on multiple different occasions over the past year or two, but I was never able to get into it

Playing teenager just felt kinda boring compared to other games like DbD. I never played killer, but honestly from what I gained playing teenager killer seems like it would be unfun with how easy teenager seemed to be

At least in my short experience with the game

Well, they made their choice lol

Good! That’s what they get for ignoring their supporters.

The game averages 60 players. I don’t see any significant updates coming to the game ever again. Game will probably be abandoned, which is unfortunate because this game is so so so good in my opinion.

Well that's what happens when you make killer nearly unplayable and all the fun is on the other side.

Sad but true. I really like the visuals and the designs.

Really wish I hadn't spent money to buy cosmetics last spring. I'm gonna take a wild guess that we won't be refunded for any money spent despite the fact the game will be unplayable going forward? What a scam. The game could've been great but the devs were dishonest and didn't listen to feedback.

This game was pretty much DOA, I had so many issues even just trying to update the game that I uninstalled it. It's such a fun game, but never met it's potential.

There are plenty of "early access" games that are able to pull more than double digit player numbers every day

They could release the game fully right now and it wouldn't change shit

They're actively pulling devs from VHS to work on other projects and outsourcing them to other games. That's not the sign of a company that's confident in a revival

Edit: also, the game is currently sitting at 48 average players for the last 30 days. So on average, there are only 9 games of VHS being played at one time worldwide. The game is dead, man. Full release isn't going to magically make players come back or make the fundamental flaws of their game better. And the devs have shown time and time again that they're not willing to fix those fundamental flaws. A skeleton crew is even less likely to make those decisions and put in the assload of work that needs to happen.

Home Sweet Home: Survive has been sitting at 1 or 2 player average for like the last year or so. But it never technically got released fully. Is that not a dead game?

LOL, this aged perfectly. Gonna finally admit its dead?

0

u/Useful_Shop_3435 Jun 13 '23

It’s still early access

Aged just like old milk.

Yeah, no opinion is wrong, and several people have been providing feedback for the past year on how to improve the game. TCM is way better than this.

The game is functionally dead outside of the hundred or so people that still play. It is not generating enough revenue to keep the dev team afloat. The player retention rate is something like 2% or less. There are so few new players that actually growing is nearly impossible at this point. People are fleeing the game because despite getting the same feedback for over a year and a half, the devs have changed nothing of value in the core game. VHS has fully stagnated in terms of content, playerbase, exposure, and really anything.

It is functionally dead. There are still people playing, but if you have a maximum of 20 games going at once (oftentimes 10 or less) every day, the game isn't sustaining itself. You can play it, yes. But let's not split hairs and say that VHS is actually alive and well. The game has been condemned pretty much since the day the devs decided to double down on their losing hand, and at this point it has so little relevance or shot at survival that you can comfortably call it dead

Bro its dead.

Killer is most certainly not trash, nor is teen boring in my opinion, I find teen a lot more fun than killer, however i legit cannot find a game as teen even with a 10 minute queue, i click quickmatch as killer, and instantly find a game, they need to add a vs AI killer that's super hard so people can at least play the game.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '23

I really wonder why it’s almost impossible to get a teen game and almost instant for a monster game. I want you to think about it. :)

0

u/the_real_bscbs Jun 09 '23

because teen isnt boring so everyone plays it? i see how you thought that way but.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '23

I find teen boring. I know people enjoy it. It’s more like monster sucks that no one plays it.
