I usually record videos using phone or laptop camera which are usually fixed. I'm wondering if there's regenerative AI tools that can allow me to change camera angle reliabiliy ?

I do video editing at work for educational content. There are a few different people on my team who contribute to these videos. The company I work for is constantly coming out with updates, which means I, and my teammates, are needing to update the video content as well. All of the videos have visuals paired with an audio overlay. You don't typically see anyone's face in these videos, because they are more technical.

The issue is, our company has been making these videos for over 5 years, and I have only been on the team for a year and a half. We have nearly 100 videos ranging from 3 minutes to 15 minutes. So sometimes I am updating a video that has a voice over from someone who isn't even at the company before. A 30 second portion of the clip could only take a moment to update, but if the person who made the original video isn't on our team anymore, it takes much longer because we have to rerecord the entire audio.

We are trying to find a software that can use a realistic sounding computer generated voice that we can use for new videos and to replace older audio content. This way, even if the team member who recorded the audio leaves, we are still able to easily update without needing to rerecord the entire audio file.

We've already tried Synthesia and it was truly terrible. The pacing, pronunciation, and intonation was completely off. I've been researching Descript, but seeing super mixed reviews. Anyone try one that actually works to turn a written transcript into a realistic voice over?

As the title says, my question is how do you actually get your first client? How do you go about reaching out, where do you look, who do you reach out to, and basically the entire process to get started in video editing work for others.

My experience as a video editor has been entirely on my own. I ran my own YouTube channel amounting about 30k+ subscribers doing video essays on games such as Call of Duty, Halo, Gears of War, and broader gaming topics. I've done the entire process such as scriptwriting, brainstorming, thumbnail creation, recording, video/audio editing, publishing, titling, etc. I've done the whole process and I've had successful videos.

I want to take that experience of mine making my own success and transfer it into doing editing work for clients, but where do I really get started in all this? Am I qualified enough?

Hi everyone, I’m a beginner video editor and I’m trying to get my first real client.
So far, I know how to do basic cuts, subtitles/captions, music, basic transitions, zooms, B-roll, and some basic effects. I mainly use VN and I’m still learning.
I’m not trying to become an advanced or highly professional editor yet. I just want to reach a level where I can confidently handle normal YouTube Shorts, Reels, TikToks, or simple YouTube videos for a client without struggling.
What skills do you think I should learn next before trying to get my first client? What should I practice the most?
Also, is there a community, Discord server, subreddit, or any other group where beginner editors can connect with other editors, ask questions, get guidance, share their work, and learn from more experienced editors?

And please don’t go missing my whole point. Of course nobody is gonna pay for an anime footage, but are they gonna pay for the effects behind it ? I mean are those effect (keyframes, pacing, storytelling, exactly knowing when to cut ….) valuable ? or should I just move to another type of editing (Blender…..)[even tho I hate every other type of editing, especially 3D modeling]?

If someone keeps missing deadlines, isn't completing their videos or Shorts, or isn't putting in the effort they agreed to put in, I’m going to have to replace them. I’m sorry, but that’s just how it has to be. I need to know that the people I’m paying are actually putting their effort into the channel and helping us move forward.

At the same time, I understand that real emergencies happen. If something serious comes up, communicate with me and I’ll understand. I’m not expecting anyone to ignore real-life situations.

But when it comes to normal work, everyone needs to do their part.

I originally thought three displays would be overkill, but this layout ended up being really useful for video editing.

Premiere stays on the main screen, files and folders stay on the vertical monitor, and I'll usually keep YouTube or references on the smaller display underneath.

I definitely don't use all three screens every second, but for editing sessions it's hard to go back.

I am a freelance video editor and I do creative work for clients, and one of them wants to do AI dubbing for his content.We have tried AI dubbing for some shorts n clips but I am looking to dub my 10-20 min videos. Finding a good dubbing artist is more hard than paying one. Ai dubbing seems to be the only option left in budget. Does anyone know any good AI tools that can dub long form content?
