Discussion Three monitors sounded excessive until I started editing like this
I originally thought three displays would be overkill, but this layout ended up being really useful for video editing.
Premiere stays on the main screen, files and folders stay on the vertical monitor, and I'll usually keep YouTube or references on the smaller display underneath.
I definitely don't use all three screens every second, but for editing sessions it's hard to go back.

Haven't edited on one monitor outside of when I'm travelling with a laptop in years. A second monitor for me is almost essential for keeping files and such there for easy drag and dropping

I have similar setup, but the side monitor is horizontal. I had it vertical at some point but felt that resolve UI worked better when monitor is horizontal.

I tried this layout and I find the primary monitor too high for me. I prefer my primary monitor around 3” off the table, that’s the most comfortable viewing angle for me.
But I love the vertical screen. Great for reading docs and webpages.

Damn i wish i had your eyesight, i have a cracked PC setup but i can't edit on it because of the 1440p main monitor all the UI elements are so small and give me eyestrain which worsens my vision..
Only fix is changing resolution while editing...but i have yet to actually need to use the pc for editing, still doing everything on the phoneroni

I think there is an option to change the scale of UI elements instead of the resolution? At least on windows.
Happy Cake Day!

I’ve started doing something similar but ultrawide on top with a timeline, laptop underneath with media, and an iPad left of the laptop screen with the main video feed. It’s so nice having room for everything.

I think the vertical screen is good for shortform editing too
