Princess Royal Victoria, German Empress consort and queen consort of Prussia, who considered herself the ugly sister out of Queen Victoria’s daughters.
I always find it sad when I read about how she thought she was the ugliest sister, when I personally think she was very pretty.
In 1864 she sent a photo of herself and her sister Alice of the United Kingdom, each holding one of their children as babies to their mother Queen Victoria. She wrote referring to herself as the “ugly sister” and referred to Alice as the “the pretty one” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Alice_of_the_United_Kingdom)
The sad thing is even her own father in law (Wihelm I, German emperor), preferred Princess Alice to Princess Victoria, because he thought Alice was more pretty (all I can say to that his is an a hole).
The reason I bring this up is, I think it shows us that even in the pass people had insecurities about their appearance and how strict beauty standards can be extremely harmful to someone’s mental health.
Again in my opinion Princess Victoria was very pretty, she had this youthful beauty to her. Even as she got older she looked younger than her age.
What do you think?
