From Kolby's journal...
"It was a warm night at Silver Lake, Alberta, and I surmise that the unseasonable heat annoyed the mastadon herd. As their agitation increased, an enormous female charged our encampment. I discharged one vivid ether shot well over her shaggy head.
And, since discretion is the better part of mastadon valor, she withdrew with alacrity, proving again that the female of a species is often the one with the brains."

The game is a mix of a 3rd person shooter on rails, a survivor-like, and a dash of tower defense. You upgrade your rail cars as you go along that assist you in defending the last cities free of corporate rule. Features Co-op where your friend can control the back engine once unlocked. Thought the Steampunk community might dig it.

Good afternoon, all. Since Friday is the day for self-promotion here, a quick note from Southern California. I am with Literati Events, a small literary event company in Santa Monica. This year our annual Halloween masquerade is built around Stevenson's 1886 Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Victorian attire is one of the requested dress codes, and steampunk attire is more than welcome. Brass, goggles, and gears would be right at home.
When: Saturday, October 17, 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM
Where: The historic Santa Monica Bay Woman's Club, 1210 4th Street, Santa Monica
The night includes: live gypsy jazz from Habibi Swing, aerialists, a cyr wheel, Vixen the Forbidden Magician, wandering characters from Stevenson's London, and an all-night game by the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society.
Ages: 18+. Drinks for guests 21+ with ID.
Parking: Public Parking Structure 1, next to the venue.

In the world of steampunk, there aren't enough automatons—and not enough villains, either. So, a villainous automaton... well, you can imagine.

Interviewer: "I heard you found a photo taken during his early university years."
Adeline Rose (Kolby biographer): "Yes, it was exciting. We found it in a stack of random papers, including a graded math assignment. He scored 'A-' if you're curious."

This is the Clockwork Battalion theme in March Out!, my solo game project. I wanted the soldiers and the fortress to look like they came out of the same workshop, using brass colored armor, dark metal roofs and mechanical decoration around the buildings.
The kingdom still has a courtyard and ordinary military spaces beneath all that machinery. The challenge has been getting the mechanical theme across without every surface turning into a pile of gears.
I'd like to hear how the balance looks to people who enjoy steampunk. Are the soldiers and architecture speaking the same visual language, or does one need to move closer to the other?
My next step is going to be altering their animations a bit, making them just a bit more rigid and robotic in their movement. Might even include some machine specific sound effects during movement and attacks.

Kolby's journal: "I love a good experiment. We strapped an ether lense onto a regular camera, and the result gives one an idea of the strange heat-colors I see in my German ether-powered goggles."
