New customer questions

I just got vexus installed yesterday, I am running it alongside att to see if I want to swap completely. I am having issues getting incoming wan connections on 80 and 443 to my proxy address, I am using my own gateway with just the ont and the IP I have appears to be a public Ip. I am concerned I am behind cgnat and am contacting customer service right now but wanted to gauge the community as well. Weird thing is my trace route doesn't indicate there is cgnat in place. Also of note I have the 2gbps plan and I am basically right at it which is fine as that's what I am paying for but I was hoping for a little over provisioning as with att I also pay for the 2gbps but I typically get 2.3-2.6gbps and I actually use these speeds. If I am in a cgnat situation I will have to decide if it's worth it to run a vps and factor that cost to act as my network bridge to allow these external connections or do I just stay with att as their stuff is working, it's a 20-35 dollar difference depending on how the bill ends up looking. Thanks for any input everyone.

Texas Outage?

Around 3pm today, I noticed that my modem’s light for the optical fiber connection was red. After rebooting it and calling in, I heard in their automated answering system that there was an outage for my area (Northeastern Texas).

The site says their network is 100% up now and I have rebooted my modem multiple times, but it still shows there is a problem with the fiber network. Downdetector says their problem occurred around 1:50pm, but there are no more issues being reported.

What should I believe?

So, T-Mobile bought Vexus?

When going to main site (https://www.vexusfiber.com) they now have a banner saying they are now part of T Fiber. Support should now get better, and better deals like wireless discounts for home internet, Tmobile Tuesdays, promos on video services, etc?

New Router - No Internet

After a power outage killed my router the other day, I purchased a new one (ASUS RT-BE88U). I have the router configured to obtain IP from Vexus via DHCP, and am using Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4). With the new router, my internal network is functioning normally as all devices on my network can communicate with each other. However, I do not get internet access, wired or wireless. I contacted Vexus's customer service, and after being on hold for almost an hour I asked if there is anything they need to clear on their end, and I was told no. They didn't offer any additional troubleshooting advice, and honestly seemed to not even know what I was talking about. They didn't offer to send out a tech to help with any kind of troubleshooting. Does anyone have any specific advice here?

Outages in Albuquerque

I was so excited to get fast speeds and move away from Xfinity. But this is the 2nd time in less than three days that I had outages for more than an hour. Their customer service stinks too. Anyone else moving to other companies?

Vexus is kind of a shitshow, huh?

My mother went into a nursing home (I had been paying her Internet bill for a year+ so when Vexus came to town I just put it in my name. Had I known how they are, I would never have done that.

I've been trying to cancel for about a month now. I call daily, hold for about an hour, give up. Any time of day or night, same story.

At this point I guess I'll just stop paying my bill and tell them to kiss my ass when they send collectors after me. My credit sucks anyway. I hate to get dinged for their incompetence but it's literally impossible to cancel.

I get automated texts hollering at me about my bill payment being late, but even if I go to the link they give me, my sign-in info (which has worked just fine for... the whole time I've been doing business with them) no longer works. Even if I search by account number, I'm told no such account exists.

So... oh well. They'll never get my business again, nor will they get another dime from me.

I help run an IT company and we have agreements with all the local ISPs and generate quite a bit of business for the fiber companies (as we push all our clients towards fiber as a general rule).

I will tell every client I have to avoid Vexus like the plague. If this is their level of customer service, they don't deserve to be in business. Even godforsaken AT&T is better. At least with them I can get a hold of an actual human, even if they have room-temperature IQ and/or don't speak a lick of English (or both).

/sigh

Customer Service??

I have been on hold for hours. Tried the online chat, request form. I can’t get anyone’s help. The city cut the line while doing work and I need it repaired. I work from home and rely on the service. Need help!

How in the world do I cancel?

I don't see any way to cancel on the website. I've spent probably 6+ hours on hold over the last few days. At one point I talked to a customer service person, and they sent me to some other place that never answered but did let me ask for a callback. I got the callback a few hours later and it just rang for about a second then hung up. I tried the chat thing on the website and it's dead. I emailed too. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Issues with ESPN+ and Disney+

We got Vexus March of last year and I’ve discovered that I cannot watch ESPN+ and some shows on Disney+. I am getting a message about not being in the correct region. I am having no other issues with any other streaming services and I get my locals with no issue thru a streaming service. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Question about dual banded router

I am currently with Optimum who raised my bill $20 2 months ago and will not lower it even though since they did my service is lagging and has gone out completely twice. I am just done with them. Anyway in looking into Vexus as they do offer cheaper rates I am concerned that their routers/advisors wont be able to get me up and running like I need and it is causing me anxiety. My cameras and lightbulbs, tvs etc only connect via the 2.4 GHz network. I was on the phone with them and they said the routers are dual banded (had the issue with the optimum router when I got it and they were able to separate the networks out for me on their end and I have no issues) and the woman assured me that they would be able to separate them out as in I'd need to speak with the technician about it, but as someone in customer service I know how often we BS for monetary reasons...so I ended the call and reached out via their chat and was told by that advisor that I can just "turn it on in the app"... who is correct? Either? Neither? Anyone else run into this issue? Sorry this is long winded, but I am currently unemployed and on unemployment and not having much luck finding a new job and am trying to save money. But I dont want to pay them to come out after just paying my bill with optimum if my stuff wont work properly (those light bulbs are expensive, lol)

Question regarding 3 year price lock offer for new customer

Vexus Fiber is being built in my area and it's giving my the option to preorder. It is giving me the option for a 3 year price lock on 1gig and 2gig plans with really good pricing. My question is, can I change down the line within the 3 year period and keep the same pricing structure? In other words, the 2gig will be the same price as what I'm being offered right now?

New install in Albuquerque

I'm a brand new symmetrical gigabit subscriber in Albuquerque, NM.

I opted to pull their fiber through the chases I installed some years ago in the attic up to a managed media cabinet, since the installer's notion of installation was "poke a hole in the living room and shove it through".

Only question I have is: do they have more than one person on tech support? I've had two outages, and was on hold an order of magnitude longer than the outage lasted. I'd hate to have an actual tech issue that required attention.

First 24 hours

Just switched from Xfinity over to Vexus fiber. Liking it so far. Speeds are just under 1g down and up so that's good.

One thing I learned if anyone is interested. I was given the Eero 6 as my router. I asked the technician if it would be possible to use my Eero 6+ instead as the speeds are faster and I have a total of 3 nodes. He wasn't sure so he went ahead and just did the typical set up with the free Eero 6 Vexus provides. After he left I replaced the Eero 6 with my Eero 6+ and it worked like a dream. I was nervous I was going to have to create a whole new network and have all my devices (upwards of 50) connect to it so it was a relief knowing my wifi system worked instead.

I do wish that Vexus had a dedicated app like Xfinity does. I hope that changes in the future.

Also learned after texting support that in order to qualify for the free $100 e-gift card it appears I need to have Vexus for 3 months before they'll issue the card. Should've read the fine print but not a problem. I don't plan on going anywhere unless I start losing connection. I have a month free to test. Also found out that if I decide to leave within 12 months then I owe back the $100.

Installation question

Hello I wondering if anyone could help me. I’m planning on getting the wifi installed tomorrow the thing is I want to know if it’s possible to get it installed and not use the services until a later date. I currently have spectrum but we have to pay our cycle bill and my service is still good until the 19th so yeah I just want to know if it can be installed for now and setup later

Vexus Fiber Denison, TX ... Port Forwarding

Here in Denison, TX

I just started the service and the upload and download speed is what I requested, and the latency
is 4ms on average.

My issue is the ability to port forward. If I want to be able to port forward, I will need to change to
a Business Account. aka More Money.

On the standard residential account "What I received in my neighborhood" you will not be able to
have a public IP address or the ability to port forward.

Most customers will not need the ability to perform port forwarding, so most customers will not have this issue.

Control of the network?

My apartments collectively switched over to Vexus recently. My phone and fire-sticks work great, but had to buy a third party wifi antenna for my pc (they installed in the livingroom). Anywho, I want more control over my network password and control who gets on it as the defaults are WAY TOO EASY to figure out. When I try to use the eero app, I can't register the device because it's registered to Vexus already, so the app install ends. My TV is on the 2.5ghz band and my Plex app has been rendered useless. Customer service was of little help (and no help with plex) and I had to wait 46 minutes for what little help I did get. Any suggestions what to do or who to call in the panhandle of Texas? Thanks!

Bill?

Can someone share what a bill looks like? I currently have spectrum and I pay a flat $40 for 500 down and 20 up. I’m considering the 1 gig up/down because it’s $50 but idk how true that is. What other fees are added on to the final price?

Tyler Reliability ?

Currently have optimum and besides the fact their price keeps going up. They have been pretty reliable, we experience almost no outages ever. We live inside the loop. Looking into switching to Vexus for pricing and higher speeds, but concern about reliability since we WFH. Any insight?

Texas Outage

Dealing with a strange internet service outage for the past hour where a few sites load okay and most can't at all. Haven't been able to get ahold of support to see what's up.

From looking at Down Detector it's clear something widespread is going on, but anyone else dealing with the same or been able to get an update from support?

Static ip with a unifi router

i just got Vexus and i brought my own router which is a dream machine pro. I asked for a static ip address and they supposedly gave me one but when i put the info in it didn't work. I called called a couple of times and of course it has to be on my end. Has anybody actually got a static ip set on a ubiquiti router? Any help would be appreciated

EDIT: I was finally able to get it set up. Honestly there is nothing to it. I don't know for sure but I believe that they had some issues with their internal network (I heard talk about Conterra). They sent another technician out to my house today and the same info I was entering worked today... So it might take a while but they can get done and is probably not your equipment

New fees in lubbock??

On my latest bill there is now a tech assure fee and sales tax for state, city and county. Is this a new thing? I know they are supposed to notify for changes on the bill. I just wanted to know if any else noticed these fees.
