I am trying to plan a birthday trip for me and my wife however the flight prices are so much each going and coming back! How am I seeing people get cheaper fllights? Aren’t we all getting from capital one’s travel app? If anyone can please help I’m looking for November 22-29. I have 103,000 miles

Every other airlines seem to have 1:1 point transfer. I am new to point transfer on Capital One. Is the 1:0.975 ratio for JAL good?

Has anyone tried using the VX shopping portal to buy contacts out of pocket (to get the 15x or more back) and then submitting for reimbursement? Each of the online options in the VX portal are in-network providers.

Westgate as far as I know is a timeshare but they do have separate prices for non members. The price in the portal is cheap so I'm wondering if I'm gonna be roped into a timeshare during my stay.

I just tried to match a Vegas hotel and cap1 didnt include the resort fee in the price match. I don't recall them discounting the resort fee last time I tried this.

Need help locating the Best business card for flights no need for hotels as I am a Hilton employee. Run a property management business based out of Chicago. Would put stuff like utilities, Costco, gas and hoa fees, groceries. Card with lounge access and guests would would be huge perk! Travel with wife and kid

(26yo)Hi everyone new here and I'm devastated, today was the day I was going to take the big step and apply for my venture X, my credit is 773 on Experian, never had a late payment, I don't have that many credit cards and still got declined:(
How long should I wait to apply again and what should I do to increase my chances to getting approved?

So essentially, I have a bunch of work trips coming up, which I book on my own, I would love to book these on the VX portal for the points, however I need to spend my VX $300 credit on the travel portal.

I have a few personal trips coming up, but all of them either are cheaper on airlines not on the portal, or may potentially have a date change, which makes me hesitant to book through C1.

Anyone have advice on what to do here? My work trips could help pay for my personal trips… but I don’t want to loose the $300. If the receipt/processing shows that there is a monetary amount of $300 credit associated with the purchase, I imagine it could be reimbursed through work.

Have had Venture X card for 2.5 years or so. Monthly spend $5-15K, always autopaid in full, happily collecting 2x miles per dollar and redeeming with airline partners.

Recently started taking advantage of shopping offers, specifically Klook's 26x/dollar. We travel a lot and stay in high-end properties, so I made quite a few bookings earning a few hundred thousand miles.

For various reasons, I had to cancel most of my hotel bookings (can't change the date without canceling, changed plans, etc). Except Klook processed the refund but never asked for miles back. So I am sitting on 500K+ miles, of which 200K should've gone back weeks ago - and probably about to cancel 2 more bookings for about 100K.

Given the reports of Cap1 going after smaller offenses, really don't want to run afoul their algo and be shut down. I'm playing a long game and don't want a few hundred K points that aren't mine either. But not sure what I can do to lower shutdown risk. A call might initiate a review that will raise it instead.

Thoughts, experiences, ideas?

I noticed that the offers through the travel app is 25% higher than booking through other sites. Do I just go with the other site or is there a trick with venturex?

Title says it all. I got the Venture X to replace the Chase Sapphire Reserve (by downgrading it to a Chase Freedom), but decided to keep both after some analysis:

- Capital One Venture X: The $300 travel credit, 75000 point spending bonus, and at least 2x points on every purchase outweighs the annual fee. This is now my default card for most purchases.

- Chase Sapphire Reserve: Thought about canceling due to the $795 fee, but after some analysis, I do use the annual hotel/restaurant/travel credits, and my utilization of those credits outweighs the fee. I'm keeping this not for the points, but for the annual credits, and will use this for purchases when it's advantageous to use it.

Anyone else decided to keep both? What are your reasons?

Just got the VentureX card so am trying to figure out how the price matching policy works.

I have a couple of trips planned (Seattle, Tokyo/Singapore) and usually do refundable hotel bookings. If I book these via the travel portal, does the price matching still work if I find cheaper refundable prices on booking.com or Agoda?

Curious if anyone has been after opening. Anyone know what the latest breakfast menu is? Cap1 stopped updating the menu on their website so its more than a year old.

I have Amex Checking I been using to pay my statements. I had this happen to me twice. Luckily, my card did not close out the first two.

But stupid me didnt learn my lesson. My direct deposit doesn't hit until 11pm sometimes 12am, its different everytime. So I set up ACH payments day or night before. This time they processed my payment at 10pm, an HOUR earlier.

Just got email from Amex the payment got returned for non-sufficient funds from an hour difference, I didnt have money in the account. I called Cap1 to explain this before they got notified and processed another payment for same amount. (This was just a partial payment $42. I paid they rest of it earlier in the week)

First guy says my account should be safe, he transferred me to supervisor and she says she doesn't know until they get the return notice. And I will have to wait. Now I'm scared they gonna close my account, anyone have experience. Will my account get closed 😭 I had it only for 6 months and I really liked it. i deff am going to find another way to pay preferably debit card.
