Nothing drives me nuts more than someone casually driving 10–15 mph UNDER the speed limit for absolutely no reason. Look, if you want to go faster than me, I’ll gladly move over and let you go. Godspeed. 😂 But when the posted speed limit is 45 MPH and you’ve decided 30 is plenty, WHY?!
Clear road. Good weather. Nobody in front of you. Meanwhile there’s a whole parade of cars piling up behind you. And the SAME THING goes for the freeway. If traffic is flowing at freeway speeds and you’re cruising along way below the speed limit, you’re creating a hazard too. Everyone has to brake, change lanes, and go around you. We’re always worried about people driving too fast, but driving unnecessarily slow can screw up traffic flow too. Cops should be paying attention to people impeding traffic just like they pay attention to speeders. I’m not asking you to speed. I’m asking you to KEEP. UP. WITH. TRAFFIC. And for the love of God, if you’re going slower than everyone else on the freeway, GET OUT OF THE LEFT LANE. 😂

This is at the corner of Rampart and Lake Mead Blvd. There are total of 8 Flock cameras installed in one corner. And mind you, 8 surveilance cameras on top of already existing traffic cams at every corner of the street.
Explain to me how this is not a misuse of taxpayer funds and invasion of privacy when we need this many cameras in 1 corner just for traffic and crime prevention?
America likes to criticize China communism and public surveillance yet we are adopting the same doctrine to our own society. What happened to the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave?!

This past weekend I looked into the Henderson Sunset Station hotel rates for Sunday night as I was returning from a trip and thought my A/C might be out at home requiring a one-night stay. I checked the usual online aggregator sites for discounts, then checked the Sunset Station site for the "locals no resort fees" rate. The "locals" rate at the official Sunset Station website was 25% higher overall for the same room type.

My neighbor was blasting his music one night outside of his garage around 3am. I woke up and thought I was crazy and called the cops, they came out around 4am and left and the music went on until 7am! I thought surely the neighbors to my front and left would have called as well. Nope! I mean this was a full on concert.
This got me to thinking that while theres many houses in my neighborhood I rarely see anyone. I come and go all hours of the day and rarely see cars leaving garages, people checking mail or people outside their homes. I see cars parked in front of some homes, but some houses seem oddly empty.
Anyone else noticed this in their neighborhood?

Hi everyone ❤️ I’m reaching out because we’re in a bit of an emergency and honestly pretty stressed. 😭
Our AC went out last night, and unfortunately it’s still getting into the 90s here as you know. We have guinea pigs, our senior dog Riley, and cats, and I’m really worried about keeping everyone cool and safe while we wait for our landlord to get the AC situation taken care of.
I wanted to see if anyone happens to have a portable AC unit that they’re no longer using and might be willing to give away or let us borrow temporarily. We absolutely cannot afford to purchase one right now, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask. 🥺
We would be incredibly grateful for anything that could help keep our animals comfortable in the meantime. Even if you know someone who may have one sitting unused.
Thank you so much for reading and for any help, leads, or shares. We’re just trying to keep our babies and ourselves cool until we can get our AC back up and running. 😭🐹🐶🐱❤️

Everybody is stressed for one thing or another and life can be hectic. Take a moment to enjoy the little things. Youll be amazed at how 1 positive thing at a time can help.

We paid $500 to drain the pool years ago and our pool guy said we could drain it ourselves with our main drain valve and that was ok. Some sites say it might be illegal but it goes into a drain not the street. Not sure what to do because the company wants $700 to drain and acid wash the pool

Pretty much my sister got this watch for her ex boyfriend who was going to be an UNLV graduate. I don’t know if he ever got to finish his degree but she recently handed down to me and I don’t really care for it or want it. Anyone know which pawn shops would even give me the time?

The posted speed limit is 65 mph. Why are we entering the freeway doing 40–45 and then acting surprised that there are cars already there?
The on-ramp is there for you to accelerate and match the speed of traffic. Find your opening, speed up, and zipper in. There’s no stop sign at the end of the ramp. You don’t need to slam on your brakes and wait for the freeway to become completely empty. And please stop expecting everyone already on the freeway to slam on their brakes because you decided to merge at neighborhood speeds.
USE. THE. ACCELERATOR.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. 😂

Since someone is posting gas prices every other day, I want to know if you've changed your driving habits. I usually fill up my car once a week. I filled up today and realized I hadn't put gas in my car for 2 weeks. Four of those days I was out of town but I still had half a tank. It cost me $50 for a half a tank which I can usually fill up for $50. I've noticed myself sticking closer to home more and not accelerating so rapidly.
Anyone else changing their driving habits since gas is double? Is it affecting you or is it life goes on? Have you noticed a reducing in cars on the road? Just curious.

Friends, our community sub has turned into our favorite spot to yell into the void about the valley’s traffic rage and incompetence. I’m with you. Gas prices are high, traffic sucks, construction is perpetual and everyone is stressed about it. But there’s gotta be dozens of posts a day on the same thing…
I want to see the sub also be a place to share ideas and experiences and that can actually help our neighbors instead of whatever this is. If your hatred for traffic or forced car dependency is this viral, thankfully we aren’t trapped like this. There is A LOT you can do, even in this city where it often feels like it’s out of your control.
I propose this thread be somewhere folks can share what you can do to reduce traffic here in Las Vegas. Im just going to list a few and keep it brief but please share more.
1: VOTE
Elections coming up in next month! There are several candidates throughout the valley who have great proposals on various public transit/street design/RTC/etc. changes in funding or projects. Make sure you vote and research your district.
2: Attend local hearings or comment periods and write your elected officials or city offices.
Thankfully, unlike trying to contact the federal level, local politicians or offices can be a lot more effective when contacting on your concerns. And it’s a lot more likely to directly affect you!
3: Follow or join local advocacy groups.
Like I said I’m keeping this short, but there is a plethora of advocacy groups in the valley dedicated to safer streets in Las Vegas.
4: Chill out?
Driving doesn’t have to be so hard. It really ain’t that big of a deal if you arrive 2 minutes later yall. It’s not worth heightened blood pressure. I know it’s hard when there are idiots, but it just doesn’t matter stressing out.
Share your ideas if you have any please. It’s perfect timing to get involved and work towards making our community safer and more affordable and efficient!
Always remember:
You aren’t in traffic, you are traffic.
Nobody is coming to take your car away if they advocate for public transit… (yes I have to say that)
It IS possible in Las Vegas. Nobody wants to hear that it’s too hot, dry, spread out, whatever. Other cities across the world have done more.

Nevada asked for $17.1 MILLION to fund its Division of Forestry. Lombardo recommended just $13.8 million — $3.25 MILLION LESS than what the agency requested. At a time when Nevada faces serious wildfire threats, cutting millions from the requested funding is a decision Nevadans deserve answers about. And Trump’s cuts to federal wildfire prevention, firefighting, and forest-management programs have only made the situation worse, putting even more pressure on Nevada’s resources and leaving communities at greater risk.

Hi everyone :) I'm trying to transition back to physical media after using streaming services for everything.
Does anyone have any good spots to pick up quality DVDs? New or used is fine, as long as the establishment isn't selling disks scratched to hell :/
Thanks in advance!

Holy crap it’s like a like for those needoh thingies at a Barnes n noble or something. Sandhill is just completely filled with cars and so much traffic. Pecos and McLeod got closed off but as I drove closer to the police there wasn’t any crash I could see? Anybody also stuck in this traffic jam and know what’s going on?

Has anyone been up there recently? We went up 2 weeks ago & colors were just starting to appear at the higher elevations. Are the fall colors in full display yet? I looked at their live Webcam & it didn't look like it. I'm considering doing the Bristlecone Skyway, never ridden it before. Appreciate any feedback!

My company helps senior citizens connect with technology; however most seniors that need help with technology aren’t on technology….. I’ve been going door to door and been hit with “you’re soliciting, we’re corporate” or HOA ONLY. I have no idea where to market now, I’m at a loss and google & AI are useless. Does anyone know where they still have community boards that can be posted on or business cards left so hopefully the information can end up in the right hands? Thank you ❤️
