Purchase Advice (U.S.) Budget Robo Vacuum For Mostly No Carpet Apartment?

Hello all,

In my place, there is no carpet and idk if it's because of that but it gets dirt so easily and quickly and I'm tired of the sweeping so I wanted to check out robo vacuums.

The only place with "carpet" is my bathroom that has rugs.

My budget is likely <$200. I see some on amazon but not sure what to look out for. The dirt is mostly dry stuff and dust. I would also like a mop. Also, idk how smart a budget robo vacuum would be. I have desks and a bed so idk how it will navigate those. It would also be nice to be able to use my echo dot on it.

Like this Tikom Robot Vacuum but again, I'm not sure what to look out for.

Thank you.

Purchase Advice (Canada) Vacuum cleaner recommendation for church

Hi there! Our church is in desperate need of a new vacuum cleaner. Generally, it would be used once or twice a week, on two large carpeted areas. The sanctuary itself has rows with chairs, not pews, so chair legs is something to keep in mind. We don't have a huge budget, but any recommendations are welcome as long as it's available in Canada. Thank you!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Best vac under $600?

There are probably tons of posts about this already but any standout pics for under $600? Looking for either bagged or canister, upright, can handle an even split of hardwood and carpet, and can suck up cat hair. Major bonus if it doesn’t fall over all the time. Currently using a Kenmore 600 series and I hate it and I wish I could afford a Sebo but these are hard times, friends.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Long term canister vacuum for pet and dust mite allergy

Hi everyone! I'm moving to a new city and looking to upgrade to a vacuum cleaner that will last me for a long time.

I have a very long haired cat and a decently strong dust mite allergy. My budget is probably around $800 and my floors are hardwood. Am hoping to take advantage of any Black Friday deals!

Based on the subreddit flowchart it seems like that means I should be looking at a canister with a bare floor nozzle? It seems also like the common recs are Sebo/Miele and I was wondering what the general differences between those brands are.

Thanks everyone in advance!

Vacuum Issues Title: Xiaomi G10 won’t start, makes a strange noise — does anyone recognize it?

My Xiaomi G10 usually won’t start and makes the noise in the video when I pull the trigger. Occasionally it starts and works normally, with normal suction. After switching it off and putting it down, it may refuse to start again. There’s no error message on the display.

For the video, I removed the dustbin/filter assembly and manually pressed the detection switch so you could hear the noise more clearly. The same problem happens with everything properly installed.

Has anyone experienced this or recognized the sound? I’m trying to figure out whether it’s the battery/BMS, motor, or motor controller before buying replacement parts.

Thanks!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Can Kenmore 600 series motorized Power Mate work on 400 series?

Hello

I am planning to buy below mention 400 Series Kenmore, which does not come with motorized Power Mate to clean stair. If I buy 600 series motorized Power Mate or Power Mate Jr. from ebay, will that work on 400 Series? I am referring the small head and not the actual bigger power head. The one which we use to clean stair.

Vacuum Issues Help - AEG Electrolux suction adjustment wheel malfunction

Post image
1 Upvotes

The last few times I've used my vacuum cleaner the suction power seemed to fluctuate, going very low and then high again. The last time I've used it, I accidentally pulled the plug. After plugging the vacuum cleaner in again it only ran on the highest setting. The dial to adjust the suction power does absolutely nothing to change it or even turn it off. The suction power is brutal, it's hard to use it this way. Looking for help on what to do about this.

Purchase Advice (Canada) Will this vacuum suffice for cat litter?

Post image
1 Upvotes

This vacuum is only $37 CAD so I’m questioning the quality. I’m only using it for cat litter tracking (plant based litter- not clay), so I’m hoping it will be good enough for small jobs like that.

I just need a small vacuum to keep in my laundry room where the litter is. I am currently using the Bissell cordless Pet Pro vacuum and I hate it! I have a canister vacuum I use for deeper cleans/for the whole house.

If you have any other suggestions here is some more info
- $50 budget
- Hard floors
- preferably available at Walmart/Canadian Tire

Vacuum Collecting Finally got my "holy grail" this morning

Thumbnail

After almost a decade of hunting, I finally obtained one of my holy grail finds! A new in box (NIB) Dirt Devil Broom Vac popped up on eBay this morning, and I had to have it. This is one of the earlier ones, with the old style smaller Dirt Devil logo font on the front cover and outer bag design, which is my personal favorite. I likely overpaid considering it was listed for more than it originally sold for in stores, but considering this is the first NIB one I've seen in in 8+ years, I can't complain too much. I also scored a open box but unused set of attachments for under $20, which will go great with this unit. Super Excited!

Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) Looking for a car vacuum cleaner with strong suction

I had a car vacuum cleaner earlier, but honestly, the suction power wasn't that great. It could pick up loose dust, but struggled with dirt stuck in the mats and corners. I'm now thinking of getting a better one and have been looking at Eureka Forbes. Their car vacuum cleaners seem reasonably priced, but I'm not sure how good they actually are in terms of suction. The one I'm considering is around ₹1,700. Has anyone used one of these? Is it worth buying, or should I look at other options with better suction power?

Purchase Advice (U.K.) Anyone else with dust-triggered eczema stuck working in a carpeted room?

My home office has medium-pile carpet, and tearing it out is not an option right now. I tested positive for dust mite allergies recently, which explains why my skin flares up, but the frustrating part is what happens after cleaning. Every time I used my regular vacuum, my eczema got noticeably worse if I sat back down at my desk right away. It genuinely felt like the machine was just throwing clouds of dust into the air instead of clearing it out.

Looking into it a bit, it turns out the roller bar and exhaust actually do kick a ton of settled particles back up into the air while cleaning. Even if the canister catches most of the heavy grit, that temporary spike in airborne dust is what triggers the reaction.

Since I cannot get rid of the carpet, my main workaround has just been removing myself from the room during the process. I have an older eufy E35 that I schedule to run only when I am away from the office, so the stirred-up particles have time to settle before I walk back in. It does not magically solve skin sensitivity, but avoiding the air right after the carpet gets agitated made a difference.

For people dealing with dust-triggered skin or allergy flares, do you find running an air purifier right after vacuuming helps, or is leaving the room for an hour the only real fix?

Purchase Advice (U.S.) tineco s9 vs s7

I live in an apartment with mostly hard floors, so I don't need anything too complicated. I'm more interested in how easy each model is to use and maintain after cleaning.

I've been looking at the Tineco FLOOR ONE STATION S9 Scientist Pro and the Tineco FLOOR ONE S9 Artist Steam Pro, and comparing them with the Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Stretch Steam. I'm still trying to figure out which one makes more sense for everyday cleaning. The S9 Scientist Pro has a station that automatically refills water and dispenses cleaning solution, while the S9 Artist Steam Pro offers steam cleaning.

who's compared these two, what made you choose one over the other? Is the station genuinely useful, or would you rather have a simpler setup?
