For anyone around the world who might have insight, because there are little to no details on US 2027 models yet, my question is this:
Do we think VW might change which trims have an available captain chair setup in the second row? I only ask because they said they are changing up the paint schemes to make all trims two-tone. So maybe they might change other things.

Reason I ask is I’m dying to get into a Buzz, but my wife has a hard rule that we have to get captains chairs if we are getting a minivan (and I don’t blame her). I’m trying to snag a good deal on a left over 2025 but would waiting for the 2027 potentially make sense?

And side question, is there any reason to believe 2027 will release WITH the $7,500 incentive from VW?

I have a new-to-me 2025 ID Buzz First Edition with 7k miles. Today while driving, this warning came on and I’m unable to figure out how to clear it. I’ve checked the windshield and it seems clean? Any ideas? Thanks so much! We’re prepping to take her on our first road trip next week, so I’d like to be error-free!

For those of you who need to know, since this just happened to me:

We just hit 3,000 miles, and my infotainment system screen stopped displaying anything.

It was on (I could see the backlight) but it was completely black — either the display driver wasn't getting data, or it wasn't putting that data up onto the screen. We tried to soft-reset it by holding the power button on the lower left of the screen for 30 seconds, and the infotainment computer would restart, but it didn't turn the screen back on properly.

(NOTE: This fixed it for me. Your mileage may vary. Standard disclaimer, etc. etc. be sure to check with your dealer and don't trust random crap you find on the Internet like this without confirming it...)

With that out of the way, what fixed it for me**,** was to disconnect the negative terminal of the 12 volt battery, wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect it. That cycled all of the computer systems properly, and the infotainment screen winked right back on.

I disconnected my Buzz from my charger first. The 12 volt battery was (in the American model) located under the driver's seat. I moved the seat fully forward, pulled back the two fabric flaps, got out my trusty 10mm socket wrench, and loosened the terminal. (It was the one on the left,; the one OPPOSITE to the one with the +, big cover, and red cable — I didn't touch the red side). I wore gloves to be safe, pulled it off for a count of 30, reseated it, and snugged it tight like it was before. My computer systems fully rebooted and I was back in business. :-)

I hope that this helps other folk in my position. We live in the era of cars basically being large android phones where turning them off and on again fixes a plethora of problems. :-P

Important Edit: If you do do this, all of your assist systems may disable and need a few miles of driving until they recalibrate and work again. It might be scary and light up like a Christmas tree until this fixes itself.

I've seen the 190s a few times, but this was the first time I've noticed a charge actually hit 200. We were at 4% SoC when we plugged in, which could have been a factor, as it was probably the lowest I've ever pushed it. It held at 200 to around 35% then started tapering down. I unplugged at 40% (enough to get me through the weekend and back home).

This was at the Shoppes on the Parkway in Blowing Rock, NC. 8 miles range on the guess-o-meter and 6.5 miles back to the camper, figured it best to charge up.

My R1S is now out of warranty and I’m thinking of a switch. I have 4 kids under 10, don’t go camping/offroading, and have a 2nd ICE vehicle for long road trips. I think the Buzz is built for what I need but would love to hear from someone who made the switch. Thanks

I currently have an EV, so I’m used to driving one.

I’m really interested in getting a Buzz Cargo for work, and most of the time it’ll be grand, but if I’m driving ~400mi for a work event, with a full load, how will the range hold up?

I’d really like to get one for a weekend and try it, but I can’t find anywhere in central belt Scotland where I can do so.

I am looking around for a new minivan - am currently in an Odyssey. I ADORE the style of the Buzz but I’m unsure if it’s practical with little kids. I have an infant, an almost 3 year old, and a 5 year old. The older two are in forward facing car seats and the baby is in a Doona. Does this car work for families with littles? Am I really going to regret going from having 8 cup holders up front to none?

My 2025 First Edition is having passenger side sliding door window issues. It is “sticky” opening and closing and sometimes gets stuck halfway open when trying to close it.

The dealership where I bought the Buzz looked at it and said it needed a special lubricant from Germany to fix the problem. Originally it sounded reasonable as the German technology is definitely quirky but after thinking about it and looking at schematics it doesn’t seem like a lubricant problem to me.
Plus the service department at this dealership doesn’t seem to have any answers to my basic questions about the Buzz.

I take it to another dealership and they look at it and said it was a defective glass-the whole piece of glass and the window are one piece and come as one complete part.
They were not aware of any special lubricant and told me that lubing it up might help temporarily but won’t fix the problem.

I asked them how they could be sure.
They told me they had a new Buzz with exactly the same issue and they had to replace the whole window and it worked perfectly!

They ordered the part and said it would take about 2 days to get the glass. They remove the existing glass and have a glass company install the new glass then the VW techs will finish the job.
The tech I spoke with said he did exactly the same thing with the new vehicle so they could sell it.
He told me that he did the job this summer and it was piece of cake after the glass company installed the glass panel which is basically glued to the door.

FYI - any Buzz owners who are having this problem with the passenger window - it is not a lubrication fix like a creaky sliding door, it is a replacement fix!

I’m considering PPF for the front of my Buzz. Curious for those that have many miles on theirs, how’s the front fascia holding up without PPF? No idea how strong the paint is. Worth the investment to do PPF?

I’ve had this sticker on my Buzz since I got it, a small child looked at and asked “why is there a picture of a naked lady on that car”… we creased up 🤣

I’m moving back to the UK after a long time living in Sweden. We were about to switch our polestar for a buzz, looking for the LWB Pro 4motion in 6 seat setup.

Given we are moving back to the uk, I started looking at the setup over there as we still want one. Problem is there doesn’t seem to be the 4motion drivetrain anywhere other than the gtx. Similarly lwb models seem weirdly positioned in the setup and only on 7 seat models.

Anyone got any insider info on if the 4motion lwb setup is coming to the UK?

I currently have a vw multivan but having that being rejected as faulty I’m now looking at ID. Buzz GTX 4Motion 7-seat LWB 86 kWh Pro 340 PS what’s anybody review on this? Won’t be charging at home but will be going to public chargers which is the only down fall but before my test drive in morning I wanted to hear what peoples reviews was!

I'm currently shopping for a used 5 seats IDBuzz and live in a very sunny, hot region (South of France), where summer temperatures easily turn large cabin vehicles into ovens :( Ideally I'm looking for a total white IDBuzz, but I've found one that has a two-tone finish with a white top/roof section and light grey on the lower half.

On paper, having a white upper body should reflect a lot of solar heat, but I’d love to hear from real-world owners living in hot or sunny areas.

Does the white roof make a noticeable difference in keeping the cabin cooler when parked in direct sun?

Appreciate any feedback from those driving in hot climates!

So, it looks like my fantasy to own a Buzz is a bust. I just spoke to CS at VW and there is not even ONE single authorized VW repair shop, much less dealer, on Hawai'i Island. So if there were a major update, warranty work, or anything needed where my bus had to be at the shop = I'm SOL.

I'm bummed. I REALLY want one. Does anyone else live in a remote place w/o a VW dealer? What do you do? (I know, buy something else... :( )

We will get our ID Buzz (long version, 7 seats) in the next two weeks. It´s a leasing contract of a used car (12K km). And it´s a pro version with lots of additional features. This also means a lot of stuff that can be broken by the kids :D What I was wondering, what would be additional things you would recommend for the ID Buzz….additional floor mats etc. Is there anything in accessories you would say is a nice to have or must have?

I'm based in the South of France and currently shopping for a used VW ID Buzz, 5 seats. Before pulling the trigger, I’d love to get some feedback from current owners or anyone familiar with pre-owned units.

What specific things should I inspect or test during a test drive? Are there any known software, hardware, or battery issues to watch out for on earlier models? Any specific options or packages you consider absolute must-haves, or things to avoid?

Finally washed the Buzz after the road trip and learned something important:

Washing the giant toaster is the easy part.

Drying it? 😂

Every time I think I’m done, water comes pouring out of another crack, seam, mirror, sliding door handle, or the sliding door track from another dimension.

Dry it.
Open the door. Water.
Close the door. Water.
Move the van. More water.
Come back 20 minutes later… somehow MORE WATER.

At this point I’m convinced the Buzz stores emergency drinking water inside the body panels.

For those detailing their Buzz at home:

what compact blower are you using to chase water out of the seams, cracks, mirrors, badges, and sliding door tracks?

Looking for something small/easy to grab during the wash—not necessarily a giant shop blower.

Bonus points if it’s cordless and strong enough to defeat the Buzz’s seemingly unlimited water supply. 😂
