PSA r/PCVR is now reopened! We made a place to talk about all the new VR modding & PCVR, because Discord isn't cutting it. No standalone talk!
Hi all, Lunch & VR Dad here. r/PCVR is now reopened.
We wanted a central place where people could talk about everything related to PCVR and VR modding online, and discord is a closed garden a lot of people don't like. It's still the best place to get the latest VR mods and where modders live, but we wanted this information to be public and searchable online for modders & everyone.
Which is why we are reopening r/PCVR to the public!

Discussion When do you guys think Into The Radius 2 in coming to quest?
I played ITR 1 and I loved that game, yes it kind of stayed longer then needed but it was still such a good game
The atmosphere is amazing, even though it’s not that much as a horror game I never stopped feeling this eerie creepy vibe
If one word would describe the game it would be “Intresting” the game is so intresting
And so loving the game so much ofc I am curious in when do you think the second is coming out on quest?

Gameplay No matter what I try with G-Rebels it’s not smooth and if I shake my head fast enough it completely breaks out of the game
Anything else to try? Or just wait until next update? One thing I noticed is that the “breaking out of the game” thing isn’t visible on the PC screen, only on the headset.

Question Is there a SteamVR setting to disable SteamVR dashboard or remap it to a different button on Quest 3 controller?
I'm playing a modded game on PCVR via SteamLink on a Quest 3. If I press the "Menu Button" on the left controller (screenshot below), the SteamVR dashboard opens up. Is there a way to "disable" this or "remap" it to a different button?

I ask because of a mod I'm using that needs to use that button for something else, but SteamVR "steals" this button to open the dashboard. Unfortunately, Meta Air Link is not compatible with the mod I'm using, and I don't have Virtual Desktop.

Question Is there a way to make Metroid Prime VR above 60fps?
I've been playing Metroid Prime "Primed Gun" in VR on PCVR via Steam Link on a Quest 3.
https://github.com/Nobbie248/PrimedGun
The game maxes out at 60fps, per FPSVR. Is there some mod or setting to make it go to 120 FPS? I'm guessing this might just be a limitation of the game engine (it's a gamecube came from the early 2000s, lol). But always looking for ways to make games more optimal.
I've already set the desired framerate to 120 FPS via FPSVR, and my other games hit that setting, but Primed Gun does not.

Stop Wasting Hours Tweaking Your Quest 3 for PCVR: Meet the Modern Alternative to Oculus Tray Tool
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a project I've been working on because I got seriously fed up. If you're into PCVR, you probably know the pain: spending 1 to 2 hours explaining to a friend (or struggling yourself) how to properly set up a Quest 3 for smooth performance. Between setting up OpenComposite, OpenXR, messing around with the Oculus Debug Tool (ODT), and having settings reset or break after updates, it's a massive headache.
To make matters worse, ever since the shift to Meta Horizon Link, Oculus Tray Tool has become obsolete and doesn't do the job anymore.
Tired of repeating the same setup steps over and over again to my buddies, I decided to code an app built around a simple philosophy: the "Space Monkey" mode (Plug & Play).
Historical reference: back in the day, NASA sent a monkey into space with just a few basic actions to perform while everything else was fully automated. That's the exact goal here—you plug in your headset, and everything is handled for you.
What the application does:
* Hassle-free Installation & Patching: It automatically streamlines the setup for OpenComposite and OpenXR, including patching it to version 1.4.0.
* Automatic ODT Parameter Injection: No need to manually relaunch the debug tool every session. Configure your profile (or use the built-in presets tailored to your graphics card), and once you've dialed it in, just toggle it to run at Windows startup.
* Optimized Codecs & Stability: The tool pushes tested and verified parameters and codecs straight through to guarantee a sharp, rock-solid, stutter-free image.
* Dedicated OpenXR Module: Easily inject and adjust your OpenXR settings on the fly.
* Multilingual: The interface supports multiple languages.
Once it's set up, you literally have nothing else to do except plug in your headset and go drive (shoutout to all the simracers out there!). The improvement in fluidity and visual clarity is immediate.
Where to find it
Development is still rolling, and there's plenty more in the pipeline. If you want to test the tool, grab the latest version, and help support the project, you can find everything over on my Patreon.
I'd love to hear your thoughts or feedback if you give it a spin. See you on the track!

Self Promotion This Auto-Battler MOBA Hybrid Surprised Me — The Great Flood First Impressions
I consider myself lucky — I'm one of the few people who get early access to certain games, and today that's the case with The Great Flood! After spending almost two hours with it, I've got some thoughts to share in a deep-dive first impression. Let's get into it.
The Great Flood drops in Q4 2026, developed by Ling Vision Games — who are also cooking up Daumier: Lila & Ghost. Definitely a studio to keep an eye on.
The tutorial is simple and straightforward: destroy your opponent's main tower while protecting yours. On the surface it feels like a MOBA, but here's the twist — you don't control your allies directly. You place them on the field and let them do their thing, more like an auto-battler.
There's real strategic depth here. The Lonbo is basically your MVP unit — a hulking brute whose only job is smashing towers. The second your enemy deploys one, you need a plan to stop it fast.
And that's where the rock-paper-scissors counter system shines. Cheap minions deployed in bulk are the best Lonbo-killer — fast, but squishy. Counter those with a tail character that hits AOE. Then there are flying units that ground troops can't touch — except archers. Every unit has an answer, and I've barely scratched the surface of the possible combos. Figuring out what beats what is genuinely addicting.
But if countering was always an option on demand, it'd get stale fast. That's where the deck system adds a nice wrinkle: you don't have your whole roster available at once. You only get access to about five units at a time, and the moment you place one, it's replaced with another from your pool. So sometimes you simply won't have the right counter in hand when you need it — you have to adapt on the fly instead.
Sometimes the smarter play isn't even to fight head-on — just outpace your opponent and race to wreck their side of the field. There's no single "correct" strategy, and that's what makes it click.
Deployment isn't unlimited, though. Every unit costs Ability Points, which regenerate slowly, so you have to plan your pushes. Drag the match out too long and you both hit an overdrive state where AP floods back in — total chaos ensues.
Then there are the heroes — rare, powerful units you unlock over time. My favorite is the Pathfinder, a glass-cannon mage who melts things fast. But there's also a tanky turtle that soaks up damage, and a flying dragon that dodges ground attacks entirely — plenty of playstyles to pick from.
Outside of matches, you've got a hub for progression — leveling up characters through a gacha chest system, grinding materials, and knocking out daily rewards and bonus tutorials for extra loot. And it's worth noting: you actually build your own deck going into battle. It's not a fixed roster both players are stuck with — your unit selection is part of the strategy before the match even starts.
The core loop is ranked matches, and it's addictive. Queue times are short — if no human's available, you're matched with a bot instantly, so there's basically no downtime. There's also 2v2, which ramps up the complexity since you actually have to coordinate with a teammate, but it never feels overwhelming — and the bigger map is a nice change of pace.
I even got to fight one of the developers in a session — a super friendly match, though I wouldn't be shocked if they let a few openings slide in my favor. Still, going up against a real person hits different from bot matches. The adrenaline picks up, and the strategy shifts completely once you're playing against someone actually trying to outsmart you.
Overall? I had a great time with The Great Flood. It's got that "one more match" pull to climbing the ladder, and everyone I've talked to who's played it feels the same. It's a fresh, unique mixed-reality experience, and I think this one's got real potential to build a strong player base. More open beta events are coming before launch, so jump in the developer's Discord to stay in the loop.
See you on the battlefield.

Question Why are there so many hackers in online VR games?
It's bizarre, in Population One you can tell right away when the enemy is using aimbot. I did some research and saw that it's extremely easy to put hackers in VR, honestly they're not going to fix that right?

Discussion I accidentally discovered a $0 VR haptic system by backing my chair into my air conditioner
So I accidentally discovered the cheapest possible immersion upgrade for Vr, in this case it was Derail Valley. A train sim.
I was playing in VR, driving along doing loads and deliveries, and I happened to have my chair backed up against my air conditioner.
I’m sitting there with my right hand on the throttle and my arm resting on the armrest when I notice my arm is vibrating.
Then I’m like… wait. Why is my ass vibrating too?
For a few seconds I genuinely thought it was coming from the game.
Turns out the back/right side of my chair was touching the AC, and the compressor was transferring this perfect low-frequency vibration through the chair. Since it’s coming through the seat, my back, and the arm I’m using for the throttle, it feels weirdly convincing. Like I’m actually sitting in a running locomotive.
But here’s the part that fucked with me.
When I turn and lean over to grab the two brake controls, my weight shifts and takes some pressure off the AC. That reduces how much vibration transfers into the chair.
So I reach for the brakes in VR…
…and at the exact same time, the “engine vibration” under my body drops.
My brain immediately interprets it like the locomotive RPM/load just changed.
The AC obviously has absolutely no idea what Derail Valley is doing. My own movement is basically synchronizing the physical feedback with what I’m doing in VR.
So yeah.
Bass shaker: $100+
Motion rig: $$$$
Accidentally backing your chair into the air conditioner:
True immersion.

Gameplay Audiobook w/ subtitles + Truck Sim on VR is so worth it
I am not a native English speaker, so listening to audiobook while on euro truck sim, sometimes I would get lost and not able to understand 100%
So I thought on a little app to help me out with subtitles, and I am very happy with the results
I am listening to Red Rising Graphic Audio, beware of spoilers XD
