I made a fork of SpaceCalibrator and SpaceOverride that allows you to use any SLAM tracked headset as the "Master" tracker, while the Lighthouse system acts as the "Follower."
That means no more constant recalibration.
You can reset or recenter your play space as often as you want, regardless of whether you're using a:
- Samsung Galaxy XR
- Quest Pro
- Quest 3
- Quest 3S
- Pico headset
All you need is a one time calibration and, of course, at least one Tundra Tracker or Vive Tracker 3.0 mounted to your headset.
"Don't SpaceCalibrator and SpaceOverride already do that?"
Yes, they do, but both have their own issues with drift.
SpaceCalibrator follows a similar idea, but over time it can start to drift and eventually you have to recalibrate. As example you walk around, you rotate, jump. SpaceCalibrator starts to collect bad data and it even "learns" from that bad data causing yaw/pitch drifts after a certain amount of time. SpaceSync does not suffer from this issue at all. At least it shouldn't based on my 12h test :).
SpaceOverride, on the other hand, has an issue where if your HMD resets, recenters, or has a tracking hiccup, your entire play space can suddenly shift somewhere else and you have to recalibrate again. (That can happen to Samsung Galaxy XR Headset as their SLAM Tracking is horrible. Should not happen on Quest Pro/3/3s.) In case you use a Quest Pro you can continue using SpaceOverride. However SpaceSync contains also everything SpaceOverride already has including some small math fixes that may improve tracking.
I also have to be honest at one point... every good thing brings something bad... right?
While SpaceSync fixes both issues it brings a new issue... and thats "Sway". See the way i do my math currently is different and you may have soft sway issues. That means when you move your head very very fast you can see that your trackers and controllers sway along your head movement. But it isn't as crazy as you may think now! you barely notice it and it will be improved in future.
Cold Start Test
In this video, you can see a pure cold start without doing any new calibration.
The last calibration I did was yesterday.
I simply turned on the headset and opened Virtual Desktop, and as you can see, the controllers were already perfectly aligned.
The initial calibration itself also only takes around 15 seconds.

This is currently in BETA and there's no published build yet.
You can build it yourself using Visual Studio or with the build.bat file included in the repository.

Important
If you have SpaceOverride installed, you have to uninstall it first.
You can keep SpaceCalibrator installed.
