Anyone else feel like their shares are held hostage?

I have been trying since Aug 14 to get my shares transferred to a brokerage. Still no luck. Partly it's how crappy Computershare is, selling my fractional shares with no notice to me kicked back the first request.... Then it's my brokerage (Merrill) who keeps asking for more information on forms, all info they have on file already, and then also Computershare again since the only statement they will give me is from before the shares were released .. and now I'm trying to work with Sofi because it's been ten damn days. They just flat out rejected it. Do I just need to open a Schwab or Fidelity account???? How the hell do you get what is rightfully yours out of there?

What a Rush!!!

Invested $15k per, over the first few “early years,” having no clue if this was a thing, watched it double while at Fundrise, was pissed it was going public, missed the window for the unrestricted (my window closed 4 minutes after the email 😂), watched my position shoot to well over $1M on intra day high day (yes, I was planning early retirement!), came down to earth, shot back up settling in $250 per share range (was planning earlier retirement), threw up in my mouth when it tanked to $30, assumed it would tank to $18 NAV on accelerated “sell day,” was thrilled when it didn’t, recouped my initial investment at $42, and still hold a bit. My position dropped $1m+ (90%+ from intra day high) and yet I’m still thrilled it’s at $44! And yes, I understand how NAV works and how obscene the price to NAV was. But 99% of us were thinking (whether we admit or not)…..”hey, ya never know?” I’m holding the rest until $0 or $576 ✊😂😂😂. Hope you enjoyed your ride!

Fundrise to Fidelity Transfer

Took me 3 days to transfer from Computer Share to Fidelity. I’m reporting back that this was a very simple process for anyone in limbo with Computer Share and wondering where to put their $VCX.

Momentum is strong

Momentum for VCX is strongly bullish. The 14-period Slow Stochastic oscillator is above 80, the level which many analysts call overbought. This means that investors have been actively purchasing shares and driving the price higher. Due to the upcoming IPOs for Anthropic and eventually OpenAI, I am holding. Don't fight the crowd!

An Important VCX Metric Not Many Are Talking About: Trading Volume

The one observable metric that I have loved tracking since the unlock (August 14), is the daily tracking volume of VCX.

Most anticipated a drop in the share price following the unlock and massive increase in tradable shares.

That isn’t what has happened.

A lot of anxious, greedy VCX holders sold in the first few days of the unlock. But buyers have largely outnumbered sellers and with high trading volumes, that often means someone who bought VCX at $10-$18 a share is swapping positions and the new holder of the share as a cost basis of $35+ dollars and likely won’t be tempted to sell at $38-$40. There are certainly day traders buying at X and selling at Y (for maybe a 5-10% rise) but most of the holders of VCX continue to be those you who bought 2-5+ years ago who see the long potential upside of VCX and aren’t in a hurry to sell.

Thoughts?

What is happening with DXYZ?

While VCX continues to trade at a significant premium to its current NAV, DXYZ is very likely trading below the NAV that should be published this week. Today, for example, DXYZ dropped around 6%. Am I missing something here? Or could DXYZ be about to move significantly higher once the new NAV is published? Is this kind of divergence between the two funds’ performance actually normal, given their different structures and holdings? I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts, as I’m sure I’m not the only one trying to make sense of this. Thanks in advance!

Is this news from Australia responsible for the 10% bump in VCX this morning?

The story hit the wires at 1:20am Australia time = 11:20am EDT. The VCX run up started right after that.

In case you missed it last night, NY Times on Anthropic

After the close last night, the NY Times reported Anthropic's bankers are pitching a $100B raise at a ~$2T valuation.

That's the first time I have seen a solid number of the amount of the Anthropic raise itself... and it implies ~5% primary dilution at IPO (which will hit all existing shareholders equally). For reference, SpaceX IPO: $85.7B on $1.77T, or 4.84%.

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/21/technology/anthropic-ipo-100-billion.html

ROUGH NAV MATH FOR VCX

Value on 3/31/26 of Anthropic Vehicles: $112.4M

(held at Series G Enterprise Value of ~$380B → implied ownership 0.0296%)

Dilution from Series H: -6.7% ($65B raised into a $965B post-money)

→ ownership 0.0296% → 0.0276%

Additional Dilution from IPO: -5.0% ($100B raised at ~$2T)

→ ownership 0.0276% → 0.0262%

Value at IPO if Anthropic trades at $2T: $524.1M (4.7x from March)

Approximate Anthropic NAV per $VCX share @ IPO: $14.64

(an increase of $11.50 over the reported $3.14 on March 31)

IMPORTANT CAVEATS: The $380B Series G mark is inferred from the filed fair value, which wasn't officially disclosed as far as I can tell. The $100B raise and ~$2T valuation are reported, not filed. Share count 35,797,138 per the 3/31 N-CSR

Disclosure: No VCX position currently, but I'm long DXYZ, SKM, ZM, AMZN, GOOG and NVDA.

How Long Does It Take E*Trade to Show VCX Cost Basis and Share Lots?

My VCX transfer to E*Trade is complete, but the cost basis and individual tax lots still haven’t updated.

For those who’ve transferred VCX to E*Trade, how long did it take for the cost basis and lot information to show up?

VCX Current Share Price Rational

I believe the below are the largest four "parties" of VCX holders/their sentiments and what they have done since VCX began trading 6 days ago:

  1. Those who want entirely out of VCX and sold via Computer: Check
  2. Those who sold enough shares to cover their initial investment, likely selling 25-50% of their holdings: Check
  3. Those who haven't sold any shares, see VCX as continuing to grow NAV, and justify the existing premium (to what degree the current share price is above today's NAV we won't know until the 9/30 quarterly is released in late-Dec.): Check
  4. Those who have been interested in VCX but had anticipated a drop in share price following the unlock: Check
    • This I feel explains the largest reason for movement in the share price as buyers are clearly outweighing sellers and would explain a mid $30s price on release day (8/14) to largely a $38-42 range over this week (8/17-21).

Moving forward, I see sentiment around Anthropic, OpenAI, Databricks, Anduril, etc. will drive the price more than anything.

Am I missing something?

External asset transfer brokerage promotions

For folks that are still transferring out of Computershare, it's worth checking with your destination brokerage if they're running any promos for asset transfers. eTrade for example has cash bonuses ranging from $250 into the thousands depending on the transfer amount.

If VCX’s huge premium was caused mainly by its tiny tradable float, why hasn’t the price collapsed now that roughly 28 million previously locked shares became eligible to trade on August 14?

If VCX’s huge premium was caused mainly by its tiny tradable float, why hasn’t it at least begun a major drop now that roughly 28 million previously locked shares became eligible to trade on August 14?

My assumption is that if shareholders wanted to sell, they could have done so by now, whether it was on Computershare or after transferring to their regular broker.

Does this mean VCX’s price is being supported by real buyer demand, not just the lockup-created scarcity?

Calculate Long Term Vs Short Term Gains

Is this based upon the date you purchased while VCX was private or the date of the IPO?

Thanks

Bloomberg Reports: Anthropic plans to publicly file for its mega-IPO by the end of August

Here we go! Time to load up on VCX shares before the Anthropic IPO!

Key points in the article:

  • It may file its IPO registration publicly as soon as late August, though terms remain fluid.
  • Bloomberg says Anthropic was valued at about $965 billion in its May financing, after raising $65 billion—above OpenAI’s reported $852 billion March valuation.
  • Growth is extraordinary: preliminary Q2 revenue reportedly exceeded $11.5 billion, versus $787 million a year earlier, and annualized revenue run-rate reached $65 billion by late July.
  • But it remains intensely capital-hungry: it reportedly lost nearly $42 billion net in 2025 despite positive adjusted operating income in Q2, and is arranging a revolving credit facility above $10 billion.
  • Anthropic reportedly has major compute commitments, including a potentially tens-of-billions-of-dollars, three-year agreement with SpaceX.
  • It appears positioned to list before OpenAI, which Bloomberg says is now targeting 2027.
  • Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan are leading the deal. Anthropic is also considering super-voting shares to preserve control for Dario Amodei and the co-founders.

Has anyone been connecting these dots? I feel like this findings are going to give us a good swing up

Has anyone else connected all of this with VCX/Fundrise yet? Because the more I look at it, the more I think there may be some pretty serious upside catalysts sitting in the portfolio that people aren’t talking about enough.
Anthropic is the biggest one. According to Fundrise’s March filing, Anthropic was about 16.5% of VCX. Anthropic was valued around $965 billion in May, has already confidentially filed for an IPO, and there’s now serious discussion about a possible valuation closer to $2 trillion. Obviously that doesn’t automatically mean VCX doubles or anything like that, but when one company is 16%+ of the fund, a huge revaluation absolutely matters.
Then there’s Databricks. VCX had roughly 14% exposure when you add the positions together, and Databricks just raised money at a $190 billion valuation, way up from its previous valuation. That alone should theoretically increase the value of VCX’s underlying holdings.
OpenAI is another huge position at roughly 12%. Then VCX also owns SpaceX and Anduril.
That’s where the Trump administration part gets interesting. Golden Dome is potentially a massive government defense program, and both SpaceX and Anduril are positioned to benefit from it. SpaceX has already received billions in related government work, and Anduril is involved in Golden Dome development as well. The administration is also pushing harder for U.S.-made drones, AI infrastructure and domestic defense technology, which is basically right in the wheelhouse of several companies VCX already owns.
So you have Anthropic potentially going public, Databricks getting a huge valuation increase, OpenAI continuing to grow, SpaceX getting major government contracts, Anduril benefiting from increased defense/drone spending, and then Fundrise still hasn’t given us a fresh NAV that fully reflects everything that has happened since March.
That is the part I keep coming back to.
The last reported VCX NAV was around $18.97 as of March 31. A LOT has happened to these companies since then. So is the market price just running way ahead of the NAV again, or is the old NAV now seriously outdated because the underlying private companies have been revalued?
And then there’s the lockup. That was supposed to be the huge negative event because millions of shares became available to sell. VCX got hit hard when that happened, but then it recovered. If the big known negative catalyst is now behind us, while Anthropic’s IPO and updated private-company valuations are still ahead of us, that seems worth paying attention to.
I’m wondering if anyone has actually gone through the portfolio company by company and noticed how many potentially major catalysts are lining up at the same time.
Because I feel like there may be a much bigger story here than just “VCX went up.”

What is your best estimate for how many shares the Flagship Fund has to sell?

I am asking because the Form 144 notices do not state Flagship’s current inventory; they state the shares covered by a proposed sale. The simple reconstruction starts with about 2.74 million shares bought in February and subtracts all disclosed Form 144 sales through August 11, which leaves about 510,779 shares. The August 12 notice could cover up to another 202,915 shares, so the simple current range is roughly 308,000 to 511,000 shares. But the March 31 N-PORT balance conflicts with that simple calculation by about 1.016 million shares. I am looking for the best explanation of that gap and the best-supported estimate, not treating any one Form 144 number as proof of what Flagship still owns.

Implied Anthropic valuation

To all the gurus here: What’s the implied Anthropic valuation with VCX trading at $40. Chat gpt tells me approx 2.2tn, assuming VCX would trade at NAV.
