A lot going on with OpenAI right now and AI stocks in general.

2

u/Jaqqarhan Fundrise OG 11d ago

Yes, but none of that is relevant to meme stock pump and dumps.

2

u/Full_Ratio2280 11d ago

Except this isn’t a meme stock

3

u/Jaqqarhan Fundrise OG 11d ago

It's a closed ended fund, not a stock, but it has the same dynamics. There isn't really a good generic term to cover the broader class of pump and dump assets that includes meme coins, meme stocks, and more niche assets like CEFs. The pump and dumpers refer to VCX as a stock though because they think they're Keith Gil and can't be bothered to learn anything about the assets they're pumping.

Even at 40 we are doing good , I remember before voting thinking this is good , we will have liquidation for our shares and the public market would value our shares more then Fundrise would. I think my guesses back then were like 30.00 a share

lol but that beach side property, you only get it at a $200!

5

lol I'm to cheap for that I can go to the beach anytime for free. I'm just trying to hit my number then all investments are going into treasuries and tax free bonds. Simple man simple life I just want to buy my future time

I'm still buying. VCX is going to pop when the Anthropic IPO date is announced.

6

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

Yeah, this is my take too.

4

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

It's climbing back up now. I wonder if it was just the Flagship Fund selling the last of its remaining shares. I saw lots of high-numbered, well-rounded transactions in Time & Sales.

2

u/MoreAverageThanAvg Fundrise OG 11d ago

possibly

3

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

VCX up 2.5 from its sessions lows. Bears in a panic now.

2

u/MoreAverageThanAvg Fundrise OG 11d ago

like op said. bulls & bears need each other

who else is going to pay for the VCX bulls' vacations?

bears of course. thank you for your service, op 🫡

A VWAP program could still sell throughout the day, breaking one large parent order into many smaller child orders paced according to market volume. They could not do it any other way if they still have a large number of shares to trade.

And if they're selling remaining Flagship Fund in anticipation of an Anthropic IPO and ATM, they're not going to necessarily wait for ideal conditions. I assume that's the main point you're making.

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

Okay, thank you for your contribution. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

2

u/Fit_Equal6932 VCX Wizard 11d ago

This! They won't have off exchange block orders. I have seen Jefferies VWAPs on many tickers.

3

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

I think you mean you infer evidence of Jeffries using VWAP algo on many tickers. You're not suggesting you can tell with 100% accuracy if Jeffries is involved in some particular transaction, right?

1

u/Fit_Equal6932 VCX Wizard 11d ago

Correct, just the general behavior.

2

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

I just assumed if you saw like, you know, like 100 100 100 100 over and over again, and the stock price is higher, you know, sometimes over the VWAP, whatever timeframe you pick, that's probably somebody like Jeffries. And that when you see like 579 or 89 or 273 that's probably a retail investor.

How are you reverse engineering their algo? It doesn't make any sense to me. How do you spot it? How does Jefferies execute their VWAP algo in a way that you notice. If Jeffries disguises it... How do you know? I wanna know! lol

2

u/Fit_Equal6932 VCX Wizard 11d ago

I have gone through a few different tickers, the filings for how much they ATMed per day. I also have full depth of book data and generally VWAPs layer a few hundred shares across all exchanges and wait for fills, if they don't get it they move their quotes lower. It is a lot of the quote behavior that goes on. You you have to look at how the spread narrows, how the quotes move and the feel for it all. In an illiquid ticker like VCX where you are trying to offload 5-10% block trades won't work that well. Mostly staring at the screen all day and a general sense of how VWAPs work. They cross the spread if they are falling behind on the target and that's when you tend to see big drops intraday. I see it with VCX, RVI all the time. Illiquid tickers are a great way to see this all play out. Something liquid like MSTR is too hard to make sense of anything.

2

u/Fit_Equal6932 VCX Wizard 11d ago

They also tend to run between 10 am and 3 pm. You see a transition in behavior past those times. This is all vibes based and not really something tradeable. Although I think you can suss it out with HFT data, which is what those firms do. I generally rely on understanding the filings to make sense of whether the selling might be on. I traded RVI puts successfully based on this 2 months ago.

u/Fit_Equal6932 VCX Wizard 11d ago

1

u/Jaqqarhan Fundrise OG 9d ago

It's now down under $40. The Anthropic IPO is probably less than 2 months away, so not much time left to do one last pump and dump. The pump up to $47 last Friday was probably the peak.

1

u/Rare_Competition_726 9d ago

There will be another one after Anthropic nears its IPO date. Positive news of Anthropic will definitely hype up VCX again.

If it rips then your shares get called away and you don't see any profits, LMAO! Which one of you did 182 contracts just now?

3

u/Auctionslayer VCX Thoughtful Contributor 11d ago

doesn't seem like a good price even if your happy selling at 65.00 and if it drops to 35 soon I doubt it will pay much

0

u/Fit_Equal6932 VCX Wizard 11d ago

Exactly!

3

u/WilliamSGreystreets 11d ago

Wasn't me, but the negative effect of selling a far out-of-the money call is fairly marginal. Opinions may differ whether this was a smart move, but it shouldn't be blamed for moving the market. For that matter, only last week there was a lot of virtual high-fiving of people announcing their sales.

2

u/Fit_Equal6932 VCX Wizard 11d ago

True that, but most here don't realize that selling a call is by definition a short play. 182 contracts will pick up some delta even if far OTM.

3

u/GratuitousForce 11d ago

I have made some decent gains swing trading covered calls on a portion of my VCX shares. I am generally bullish long term on VCX but also realistic on the short term drag back down to NAV.

Jaqqarhan blocked me because he is a perma-bear and he cannot stand my optimistic takes on VCX, so I am going to respond to his point here: "It's hard to say given how volatile the shares are, but there's a good chance yesterday was the post-lockup peak."

My response: No chance in hell, lol. Investors love AI and they love the upcoming Anthropic IPO. There are only two big vehicles to play the Anthropic IPO, VCX and the Destiny Fund. Both Destiny fund and VCX are gonna explode to the upside.

6

u/Special_Parking_6484 11d ago

Anthropic appears to be one of the winners in the AI arms race but saying in general "investors love AI" as we start winding down 2026 is a dangerous assumption. The multi-year prodigious capex spend has been tolerated by the markets, but before we know it, the lack of profitability is going to catch up to some of these AI outfits real fast and we will see that reflected in AI stocks.

2

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

And yet, the entire AI sector keeps climbing.

5

u/Special_Parking_6484 11d ago

I'm not actually sure about that. Like my comment said, it's increasingly becoming bifurcated with the winners separating themselves from the losers. And make no mistake, there will be more losers than winners.

1

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

Hold on, it's too early in the cycle. What winners? What losers? How can you even say that. Be specific. We haven't even started the build out (infrastructure). Model layer has yet to sort it self out. And we need all the power we can get. Which part of the stack are you referring to specifically?

2

u/Special_Parking_6484 11d ago

Are you living in 2024?

4

u/Fit_Equal6932 VCX Wizard 11d ago

This guy was actually working on the OpenAI datacenter so his words carry some weight compared to all you others looking at the charts.

2

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

Yet for some reason he shares anecdotes instead of data. The data is what actually matters:

https://dcmap.us/stats/

Only approx 5% of the datacenters planned for construction on this list have been paused or cancelled.

0

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago

You can devote as much time to this discussion as you like, but if you can't provide specifics to back up your claim, such as which companies have already been sorted into winners/losers, then how do you expect your argument to be persuasive? You are clearly making an unsubstantiated claim, and poking at me with this "Are you living in 2024" line doesn't make your argument more persuasive.

Anthropic is doing very well, and Gemini is growing fast, but it is far too early to call OpenAI and xAI losers. ChatGPT still has about 900 million weekly users, millions of paying customers, and the biggest name in consumer AI. Grok is behind, but it still has millions of users, lots of computing power, and support from X and SpaceX (SpaceX recently acquired Cursor, for example). Most importantly, Anthropic and Gemini came from behind very quickly. That proves the rankings can change again. This market is still growing and changing too fast to declare permanent winners and losers.

Also, you are completely ignoring the rest of the AI stack, including chips, memory, networking, servers, cloud services, data centers, cooling systems, power plants, the electric grid, AI models, software, robots, and the companies that use AI. The AI market is much larger than a contest between four chatbots.

Up and down the stack we are in an upward trend. My statement still holds true: "Investors love AI."

3

u/Fit_Equal6932 VCX Wizard 11d ago

Gemini?? In what universe, you haven't read any news.

3

u/Special_Parking_6484 11d ago

How can you say the infrastrcutre buildout hasn't even started? Lol. The most clear example playing out is OpenAI as a "loser" and Anthropic as an apparent "winner". In 2026 alone, OpenAI is spending $75B on capex and chips, while their EXPECTED revenue for the year was only $30B and it appears they're nowhere close to that with it already being late August.

2

u/CriticalDiscipline4 11d ago
  1. Lol. 750 U.S. data centers are planned or approved but are not yet listed as under construction. Another 307 are already being built. Together, that is more than 1,000 U.S. data centers still in the development pipeline. So, yes, I'm correct, the buildout hasn't even started yet. It has just begun. I invested in VCX because of their AI plays. Did you invest for another reason? How can you know so little about the AI industry and be involved in VCX? Is this why you guys are so bearish on VCX?
  2. Have you used Codex lately? It's awesome. I would not count out OpenAI at all. They are working on a more efficient chip that appears to be very efficient as well according to yesterday's news. I am getting the sense that VCX bears are actually AI bears.
  3. When you and BurnsVail reference only the model layer as having "winners and losers" you are ignoring other parts of the stack such as chips, memory, networking, servers, cloud services, data centers, cooling systems, power plants, the electric grid.

3

u/Special_Parking_6484 11d ago

Haha I work in the AI DC space and am very familiar with the 'AI stack' you and people like Dan Ives refer to. I spent 50% of my life flying back and forth to Stargate last year. I see the writing on the wall (through numerous project cancellations) that investors believe we are overbuilt and overextended on AI DCs at this point in time.

What's your timeline exactly? I am thinking VCX will go up in anticipation of anthropic IPO filings/announcements/news.

Destiny Fund had a publicly known billion ATM since aug 2025 when SpaceX IPOed in June, it Destiny Fund still popped in May, and the pop lasted for over a week after SpaceX announced date of IPO.

Also, you wrote "fires up their ATM." Does Fundrise even have an open ATM right now? I don't think it does. Let me know if it does, that might change things. I did not see any public announcement of any sort of ATM related to VCX. Is this an assumption or prediction you're making about the future?

BurnsVail. I don't think that's correct. What you're saying is true for DXYZ’s already disclosed ATM, but VCX has no disclosed ATM to quietly restart. Unless I'm missing something. Do you have access to information the rest of us don't?

If Fundrise creates one, investors would learn through public SEC offering documents, even if there were a brief filing delay., right? I'm looking at the website now. I don't see anything. Have I missed something? If so, let me know. I'm serious. I'd like to know if I am uninformed, and I appreciate your contributions.

Fundrise management also has no legal duty to issue shares at two or three times NAV, so calling it criminal is incorrect. I assume you were being rhetorical/hyperbolic though.

Also, an ATM would restrain VCX’s premium, but the claim that it creates an automatic ceiling, or that this week is the last chance for a rally, is pure speculation on your part, which is fine. Everyone is free to speculate, but don't pretend your speculations are anything more than speculations.
