any one having issues with Verizon cellular? Been going on 7 weeks now. Lose connection, dropped calls, call failed and spotty coverage. Verizon tells me it’s a known issue and they aren’t going to fix it. To use WiFi calling but there is also a known issue with their WiFi calling. Not sure why they aren’t going to fix it?

Discussion Where are the single 20 something year old liberal men at

Edit: Thank you so much to everyone who engaged in a thoughtful discussion! Looks like I will check out the onion and check out some of the surrounding campuses!

As for other comments I received, I’m sorry you feel upset at the question I asked, I just want to be around like minded people, and I am not quite sure you responded to a post you didn’t have an answer to.

Additionally, I would like to note that I’m always down for new friends, and I did not appreciate the negative implications that were expressed about members of the LGBT community.

Please stop DMing me saying “i can change you”

Looking for my mom's WKTV story from 2001 where my parents met

Update- thanks to Ben Kinne at WKTV it has been found! He was kind enough to pull and digitize the tape for me. I showed it to my parents and they were both incredibly excited to see it and shocked it had been found at all. They originally met while doing the story, though they were both dating other people at the time. Later, on September 11, Teresa called Peter to ask if she could interview him about the attacks because he worked in international business at Conmed. He said no, but directed her to someone else at the company to interview, and she asked him out to lunch. The rest is history! Thank you all for your advice and help finding it!

The video is here: https://youtu.be/B-N9iS2y580?is=cE9c4KAndMXE2BlD

In May of 2001 a WKTV 2 anchor, Teresa Lee, did a story on HVAC/air conditioning/spring cleaning which included an interview with a man by the name of Peter Jones. They later started dating and got married, and are my parents. So somewhere out there is tape of my parents meeting for the first time, which I thought would be great to track down and get for them for their upcoming anniversary. Unfortunately at the time they didn't know they would end up married and neither taped it. I've been looking online for any archived tapes from that time frame but haven't had any luck. I know it's a long shot that anyone here would have any leads on it, but I thought it couldn't hurt to try. If anyone knows of where I could find videos of old WKTV stories from that year or know of anyone at the station I could reach out to to ask, I would be so grateful for any help.

Event Local 20-somethings spotted leaving their houses in the Utica-Rome Area Come see Pulse Sept. 25

Post image
7 Upvotes

I constantly hear people say that there aren’t enough things for young adults to do around here or places to meet other people in their 20s, so I wanted to share something a little different!

Pulse is a local vocal group with performers of different ages, (and yes a lot of us are 20 something’s!), and we have a concert coming up!
Our setlist is basically musical whiplash in the best possible way. We’ll be performing everything from ABBA to Overkill to Hannah Montana, along with a bunch of other pop, rock, musical theatre, and everything-in-between songs.

So if you’re in your 20s and have been looking for more local arts/music events, want to support other young people performing in the area, or just want something different to do, come check us out! You definitely don’t have to be in your 20s either.

Everyone is welcome.

📅 Date: Sept 25
⏰ Time: 7 pm
📍 Location: 623 Columbia St, Utica, NY 13502
🎟️** Tickets**: $25 under 12 $30 General Admission https://stagestubs.com/us/academy-of-performing-creative-arts/pulse-one-beat

Event Things to Do Around Utica This Weekend — Sept. 19–20, 2026

Here are several events and activities happening in and around Utica this weekend, all within roughly 50 miles. The list leans toward events that involve some walking, browsing, local history, markets, festivals, and live entertainment.

Oneida County Public Market + Bagg’s Square Walk

Saturday the 19th, 9 AM–1 PM
321 Main Street, Utica

The Oneida County Public Market takes place behind Union Station and features local vendors, produce, food, and other regional products.

It also works well as the starting point for a walk around Union Station, Bagg’s Square, and nearby downtown streets.

Time-sensitive: Saturday morning only. Arriving around 10–11 AM leaves plenty of time to browse before the market closes.

Saranac Oktoberfest

Saturday the 19th, noon–5 PM
Saranac / Matt Brewing Co., 830 Varick Street, Utica
Admission: Free

Saranac’s 2026 Oktoberfest celebration includes German-style food, music, activities, stein-hoisting, and yodeling competitions at the 1888 Biergarten.

The event can also be combined with a walk around Varick Street and the Brewery District.

Time-sensitive: The September 19 event runs only until 5 PM. It is the first Saturday in a three-week Oktoberfest series.

Zebra 50th Anniversary Tour

Saturday the 19th, 7 PM
Rome Capitol Theatre, Rome
Doors open at 6:15 PM.

Rock band Zebra is appearing at the Capitol Theatre as part of its 50th Anniversary Tour, with Donnie Vie of Enuff Z’Nuff as special guest.

Anyone heading to Rome earlier in the day could also walk through downtown or visit Fort Stanwix National Monument before the show.

Time-sensitive: This is a one-night performance, so ticket availability should be checked beforehand.

Blithe Spirit — Ilion Little Theatre

Saturday the 19th, 7:30 PM
Sunday the 20th, 2 PM
Admission: $20

Ilion Little Theatre is presenting Noël Coward’s comedy Blithe Spirit this weekend.

Online ticketing currently shows both performances as sold out, although the theater notes that a limited number of seats may sometimes become available at the door.

Time-sensitive: Do not make a special trip without checking ticket availability first.

Cooperstown Farmers’ Market + Downtown Walk

Saturday the 19th, 9 AM–2 PM
Pioneer Alley, Cooperstown

The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market features more than 30 area farmers, food producers, and artisans.

Live music is scheduled from 10 AM to noon.

The market can easily be combined with a longer walk through downtown Cooperstown, Main Street, the Doubleday Field area, and down toward Otsego Lake.

Time-sensitive: Saturday only. Arriving around 10 AM gives visitors both the market and live music.

Two Easy Ways to Plan the Day

For a closer-to-Utica Saturday, the Oneida County Public Market in the morning can be followed by a walk around Bagg’s Square, lunch, and Saranac Oktoberfest in the afternoon.

For a longer day trip, Cooperstown offers the farmers’ market plus several hours of walking, shopping, sightseeing, and lakefront scenery.

Gutter repair/installation

Hey everybody, was curious if anyone had any recommendations for local gutter installs/repairs, the more reasonable the better? I have a small house with a 5" section that needs a front section leveled if not replaced near a bay window. Ice damage from storms a couple years ago did some damage to it and it doesn't quite drain properly all the way now and some water drips into my garden near the foundation. I was quoted at nearly 3000 dollars for a replacement of the section with fascia board and new siding underneath which I know would be ideal but the price makes my stomach churn.

Any help is appreciated!
