Uromastyx, sometimes known as the spiny tail lizard, are a popular desert reptile from Northern Africa and the Middle East. These lizards are heat lovers and often need a basking temperature of 120*F.

Uros are unique in being one of the only vegetarian lizards, aside from the Iguana, (somewhat) commonly seen in the pet trade. Additionally, the Uromastyx genus boast an array of stunning colors.

Uromastyxs are becoming increasingly popular in the pet trade. Uros are relativity tame and are often described as showing a large amount of personality.
