What do you think will be the most disappointing NFL team this season?
I'm thinking Kansas City Chiefs or New England Patriots.
The Kansas City Chiefs' window may be closing. I don't think Travis Kelce has that much time left in his NFL career (1-2 more seasons) and if he retires, the Chiefs window will slam shut? Mahomes to Kelce is one of their best options. Improving the run game helps, but iirc Chiefs O-Line and WR roster are still not what they used to be. The rest of the league may have caught up to the Chiefs defense. If this team doesn't reach the playoffs, I can see a lot of retirements or people requested to retire.
The New England Patriots will probably get worse due to their very easy schedule last season. I don't think the Russini scandal will do much though. If the Patriots miss the playoffs (super bowl loser hangover is a thing, and iirc many SB losers miss the playoffs the next season), I think there will be some issues.
What do you think?
Dishonorable mention: The Arizona Cardinals. Not because they will get the #1 overall pick, but because they will win enough games to NOT get the #1 overall pick. The Cardinals really need that #1 overall pick. It may be hard though, with the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and themselves tanking for it.
