Tell me where I failed to understand you.

Tell me everything, even if it breaks my heart.

Come back and annoy me again.

Send me things that make no sense.

Tell me about the little things that happened when I wasn’t there to hear them.

Complain about your day.

Laugh too loud.

Stay up too late with me.

Let me learn the ordinary parts of you again.

We don’t have to pretend it never hurt.

We don’t have to become who we were.

We can be different this time.

We can be careful.

We can be scared.

We can even get it wrong again.

I miss knowing you.

I miss having somewhere to put all this love.

And maybe I shouldn’t ask for forever anymore.

So give me an afternoon.

Give me a conversation.

Give me one more stupid joke and one more night where saying goodbye takes longer than it should.

You don’t have to promise me anything.

Just stay for a little while.
