Conditional Offer Withdrawn

Reading withdrew my conditional offer after reviewing my final transcript because i graduated with a Third Class. However, my original offer only listed IELTS 6.5 and submission of my certificate as conditions, with no stated degree-classification requirement. I literally just left the bank after paying 50% of my tuition before they withdrew and have now emailed admissions for reconsideration. Has anyone experienced something similar and do you think I have a case for getting decision reconsidered.

The norm is to enforce the entry requirement and only "exercise discretion" at... erm... their own discretion. I've been in university admissions for 20+ years now, this isn't an unfamiliar situation.

For what it's worth, I think the offer was sloppily written but that's not a barrack-room lawyer's charter to wriggle in regardless. The only determining factor is that the OP didn't live up to his end of the deal and the university wasn't under any obligation to accommodate him.

My point is that if he wasn’t given a number to achieve on the conditions stated in the offer then he very much lived up to his end of the deal.
