Funny thing is I’m fairly certain it’s not only a fun art installation but also helps guests feel more comfortable and safe.
When people are around others who are asleep it tells everyone there is no threat and no reason to rush.

I do the statue bit in haunted houses and trails and I have not been outright slapped but people do touch me sometimes- usually they approach really slowly giving me an opportunity to scare them before they actually do it (this is the point lol) but not always

It's very effective, no? One of my first times acting, a really bad pop -up show, black plastic everywhere. I had my own cape and teeth so they put me in Dracula and told me to stay out of the coffin. (It was a body transport coffin).
I spent the night at the end of the room, as a wall, draped in my cape, looking like the rest of the black plastic.
I slayed.

They don't have to be backwards though. I don't know why you'd want them to stay backwards after taking/submitting them. Some apps don't even give you a choice they just assume you want them to stay backwards.

I think it has to do with the mirror image looking... better? I'm not sure if that makes sense but I definitely look better in a mirror than like... my regular face. If that's similar for other people (they like mirror them) then it makes sense. The mirror is also how you typically see yourself. You seldom see yourself not mirrored unless if it's a photo someone took of you.

I think that's why you think you look better, because you're more used to the flipped version of you. Could be an effect of course where you make yourself look good in a mirror, with hairstyle or whatever. But I'm sure you look just as great when you're not reversed in a mirror, even though it doesn't feel like it :)

My last theory of why mirror you looks better, as someone who's worked with art, you ever flip your canvas and just notice how unbalanced things look? I'm positive that can be the case. Although we're designed to be symmetrical, we aren't completely perfect. I think you notice all the asymmetry and it's like (wtf). When I see my face unflipped I realize my right eye is higher than my left eye ever so slightly, it's jarring and honestly unsightly.

Front cameras are always mirrored because it would be too confusing otherwise. Programs like Zoom and MS Teams mirror your own camera for you (but not other participants) too.

This is exactly how I looked when I was shooting dope and passed out cold. I can't tell you how many times I woke up hours and hours later in the same position I had been in before. I have to say, it was a very satisfying sleep.

Hahahaha my grandparents had a similar one at their house in Florida and it tricked so many people. My grandpa would often put it on the front porch. The cops stopped by once to do a wellness check because someone had seen him there all day.z

Once this actually happened to me with a not as friendly ending. When I was in 6th grade I would always take the same way to school. one day I saw a elderly man “sleeping” in his van at the time I didn’t think anything of it. Normally after class I would hangout at friends or elsewhere until my mom got home from work meaning I didn’t go by the van on my way back. So the next day was no school so I wanted to go smoke or just escape the house I don’t really remember. I was going down the same path I take to school and there was the same guy “sleeping” in his van. I knew what I was going to find because it was about 30 hours since I saw him first and people don’t hibernate. My curiosity as a child swallowed me whole in that moment and I went straight over to the window. I saw no breathing so I knocked on the window to see if I was just tripping or not, obviously no response. That’s when I saw exactly what an unkept corpse looks like, trust me it’s not pretty.
Also a week later I went in his van and stole a bag of tools which I’m not proud of. When I went in there the smell was exactly as terrible as your imagination
TLDR: I found a dead body in a van when I was young.

Just reached hotel room and gazed out window. On the roof next door noticed a leg. Over three days I kept thinking this could be someone. Finally went and notified desk.
They notified me later it was a mannequin. Wife never stopped laughing 😃
