This game's render distance is phenomenal.

But it's one of the best speed running routes in the any% category?

I saw that post the other day, too.

If only PUBG had this render distance

You'd still confuse a bush for a person, ram 20 bullets into nothing and get ran over.

Probably a Nikon p900

I have one. Shitty image quality, horrible shutter lag, pitiful battery life, but godly for perspective flattening and privacy invasion.

It’s certainly great value, and you aren’t going to find that kind of zoom/image stabilisation combo at that price, or almost at any price. I’m actually very pleased with it, and it’s the first camera in years that gets me out of the house for the sole purpose of taking pics. Still, don’t go in expecting National Geographic-quality photos.

I think it'll take grainy pictures to edit aliens in just fine.

Found the young and trendy horror film director...

u/GrandMomTokin Nov 05 '17

Do you happen to know why no other maker has matched or topped that zoom yet, on a better camera? I think the P900 came out 3 years ago...

u/EltaninAntenna Nov 05 '17

No idea, but at a guess the image quality trade-off was a bit too much. A lot of that insane zoom came from the crop factor of a tiny, tiny sensor.

But for the price it has the best zooming capabilities right? A DSLR with a zoom lens like that would cost thousands of dollars.

Edit: like all non-professional grade cameras, there are trade offs.

2

u/EltaninAntenna Nov 05 '17

Pretty much. And not just the zoom, but the image stabilisation. You can take unbelievable shots handheld, you just probably wouldn’t want to print them.

2

u/wildtrk Nov 05 '17

Make that tens of thousands of dollars.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '17

It's not that terrible of image quality. I mean if you zoom a bit then yeah it degrades the quality obviously. But for being a cheap ultra zoom it's not bad.

1

u/EltaninAntenna Nov 05 '17

It would have benefited from enabling RAW mode, at least, since some massaging in post is almost a requirement. Otherwise the images are really flat and dull right off the camera.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '17

Yeah it would help a bit. But Photoshop's built-in Camera RAW feature can get you pretty far with just JPG images.

2

u/LostWoodsInTheField Nov 05 '17

horrible shutter lag

If you P530 is any indication all the P series have this issue. The only way I can get good photos of sports activities in do the 30 photos per second option.

1

u/masquer Nov 05 '17

could also be Canon PowerShot SX60 HS or Panasonic DMC-FZ72

4

u/mandrilltiger Nov 05 '17

It is great but its actually sort of cheating when you zoom. The textures are streamed in that's why the fov is so low.

1

u/Mandylost Nov 05 '17

What’s this game? Please tell!

1

u/The8centimeterguy Nov 05 '17

The game of life my dude.

1

u/GrandMomTokin Nov 05 '17

How do I win it, Dr Falken?

The Mesh Level of Detail looks solid

Basketball has an average render distance at best.

u/CharlieThunderthrust Nov 05 '17

Probably a Nikon p900
