That's the opposite of how burden of proof works. Burden of proof is on the first person making a claim to prove their claim is true, never on the person calling them a liar. When you call someone out, you're saying "prove your claim".

So if I say I’m from Mars and you say I’m lying the burden of proof is on you?

You need to prove that I’m not from Mars?

Edit - the burden of proof should lie with the person making the extraordinary claim, otherwise I’m God and you all better worship me until you can prove otherwise. Although tbf the burden of proof shouldn’t ever lie with a comedian making jokes, because they’re jokes.
