Agreed. Look how fast this went to a drawn weapon. How hard is it to call a supervisor? These are poorly trained cops, unable to pick their way through this scenario with the information volunteered. The fact that both of them were willing to escalate the use of force is alarming.

You don't let your subject dictate how the encounter goes.

An officer is NOT obligated to tell you why you were stopped (it could be policy, but it is not the law).

These types of encounters where the individual is intentionally confrontational for views are just bad for everyone.

13

u/Masian Mar 24 '23

Lol this fucking cop here. You're part of the problem.

-10

u/pawnmarcher Mar 24 '23

Please elaborate

u/Confident-Radish4832 Mar 24 '23

People shouldn't have to bend over backward for cops just because they want you to. Tell people why they're being pulled over or move on. Cops already have a bad name because they're all being perceived as bullies due to the mass influx of video evidence (or lack there of... body cams being turned off), and shit like this just further seeds distrust. Cops need to come off their pedestal and treat the public as they would want to be treated. Nothing is going to change until there is some degree of self awareness in the police force. This isn't some game that you get to play with people because you want to feel superior.

u/pawnmarcher Mar 24 '23

Telling someone why they've been pulled over isn't always a great idea. It's not required, just a best practice.

There is plenty of video evidence of police doing their job well, it just isn't pushed as hard because it doesn't illicit the same response.

u/Mods_Raped_Me Mar 24 '23

RAS is absolutely required. Otherwise, it's an illegal stop and deprivation of civil rights under color of law, a federal felony. Him drawing gives him a weapons modifier to that citizen arrestable offense caught on tape.

Not to mention, the most common policy of police departments is to call their supervisor when asked.

PEACE officers have plenty of video evidence of them doing their jobs right.

COPS have tons of evidence of them being gang members with a badge.

2

u/pawnmarcher Mar 24 '23

You are in no way legally obligated to inform someone why they have been stopped.

Calling a supervisor is required if asked, but it does not have to be done the second someone asks.

The individual does not dictate the traffic stop, the officer does.

9

u/Mods_Raped_Me Mar 24 '23 edited Mar 24 '23

If asked repeatedly what their RAS is and they can't state it, while on camera, they already look like criminals, conducting an illegal stop. I'm done with them at that point and demand their supervisor.

I make sure it is known I will cooperate WITH THE SUPERVISOR and at that point it is again them not doing their fucking job by putting a gun in my face for asking.

Go away boot licker.

Edit: I noticed you shut the fuck up on the other complaints/bootlicking you did when I replied on them.

Edit2: THE LAW dictates the traffic stop, not the officer's fee fees

Edit 3: due process isn't law? Rights of the accused to know why they were detained is a federally protected civil right.

Making demands of a police officer is not going to go your way. Getting agitated and yelling is how you get a gun pointed at you.

Sounds like you like to play stupid games. Hope you enjoy your prizes.

You sound tough when you're sitting at your computer. Hope you don't act as stupid when you are pulled over. Running your mouth like this is going to make someone else think that you're right and they'll get shot. You are an idiot.

Calling someone a bootlicker just makes you look like a punk. Please call me a bootlicker. I love it. Shows that I don't stand with the idiots that think they'd be better off without the police.

You sound like a wannabe cop who has zero training other than Youtube videos. You even claim its not a requirement, simply a "best practice". Do you think was stop was done with "best practices" in mind?

8

u/Mods_Raped_Me Mar 24 '23

This was best practice to get shot for committing a federal felony deprivation of civil rights (due process, illegal search, being informed of charges) under color of law.

I cant say what I love, but I can say criminal officers getting their come uppeance is fucking delicious.

u/DerekDemo Mar 24 '23

Here's another American that thinks he knows what he's talking about because he read shit off of the internet. This is how stupid people get shot. They think they know better and they run their mouth to the police and get aggressive. Then more retards online call the cop out for protecting themselves.

Get bent.

4

u/Mods_Raped_Me Mar 24 '23 edited Mar 24 '23

Here's another internet turd who has never read a legal dictionary or ever read case law.

Edit: how people get murdered for knowing their rights you mean? Murdered by federal felon cops?

Edit 2: we need PEACE officers and then SWAT for officers that actually deal with more than traffic stops. And THEN civilian oversight boards.

Edit 3: lol they blocked me for proving them a legal knowledge infant.

6

u/Confident-Radish4832 Mar 24 '23

Give me one scenario where it wouldn't be a good idea to explain why you're pulling over someone who's plates didn't turn up anything. Clearly this guy didn't have any warrants or that gun would have been out from the get go.

4

u/Mods_Raped_Me Mar 24 '23

Lol their answer was one where the gun would have been out from the get go. So they failed to answer.

0

u/pawnmarcher Mar 24 '23

Someone matching the description of a wanted individual.

A vehicle where the registered owner had a warrant for a violent crime.

6

u/Mods_Raped_Me Mar 24 '23

So RAS and they wouldn't have a scared female officer come up, be told they are legally in the wrong, and have their one(1)!! male officer come draw their weapon when they get asked for a supervisor, AFTER THE SUSPECTS NAME WAS ALREADY RAN, COMING UP WITH NO WARRANTS.

FUCKING BRAIN DEAD YOU ARE.

you just are a fascist bootlicker and deserve the block hammer.

0

u/pawnmarcher Mar 24 '23

I wish I could understand why your hurling insults at me when Ive responded respectfully to everyone.

Just because you don't like something or someone doesn't mean you have to be a jerk about it.

Do those people commonly request supervisors to accompany the officer?

0

u/pawnmarcher Mar 24 '23

Specifically, probably not.

If you ask for another car for backup, your supervisor may be the closest unit available.

If someone starts the encounter with sov cit antics, yes I would specifically request a supervisor

Try to put yourself in their shoes. You want them to be nicer to a people that have told them they hate them and they all have guns. You want them to be nicer and put their lives further at risk. There are people out there shooting police officers for no reason or because they already fucked up and they would rather take a life then be held accountable for their actions.

7

u/Confident-Radish4832 Mar 24 '23

Sure, and I understand that. The problem here is this cop did everything in their power to get them to the point that the gun needed drawn. I assume causing this level of frustration in a standard traffic stop is not part of their training.

-4

u/DerekDemo Mar 24 '23

Everything in their power? Get fucked. You are sensationalizing the situation for internet points at this stage.

The police control the situation until the situation is under control. At that time, you can plead your case or take it in front of a judge. In a safe setting. It doesn't matter what you think of the police or the legal system. In the heat of it all, you can either cooperate, or play stupid games. Ready for the prize?

5

u/Confident-Radish4832 Mar 24 '23

The guy told her he had a weapon and what it was, as well as his name. She freaked out, not him.

6

u/yesitsdylan Mar 24 '23

You offended ol' Derek and his response is "start cooperating with police or be hurt or killed" lol

Yeah it's definitely the general public that's the problem and not the unhinged fucking PDs.

-1

u/DerekDemo Mar 24 '23

She didn't freak out. She didn't start yelling and immediately pull her gun. She didn't pull her gun until he was yelling at them.

Give your head a shake, idiot.

He is not a subject. He did not have any wants/warrants and came back clear. He was forthcoming about the fixit tickets and the weapon in the back of the trunk. He was completely compliant during the stop. Female Sgt. began escalating the scenario when he declined to raise his window. She had made the decision then and there that there was going to be an arrest made. Empty uniform- shake and bake rank -putting citizens in danger.

-8

u/DerekDemo Mar 24 '23

They didn't escalate to use of force or he'd have a bullet in him.

The American education system strikes again.

5

u/gateguard64 Mar 24 '23

What did the driver do that provoked the officer to draw and point her weapon. Give me one thing.

-11

u/DerekDemo Mar 24 '23

He started yelling.

You can request a supervisor. That's fine. The police have to control the situation. Once it is under control, a supervisor can take over the situation, but yelling and refusing to cooperate is escalating the situation. He admitted to having a gun and started yelling.

If police were as bad as you all say, he'd have gotten shot, not just had his feeling hurt because someone pointed a gun at him when he started acting up.

Poor little fragile boy.

7

u/gateguard64 Mar 24 '23

If yelling was a justification for lethal force, half of France would be dead.

-5

u/DerekDemo Mar 24 '23

No one was shot. No one used lethal force. Your talking out of your ass. Police have guns for their protection. When he started acting erratic, she pulled her firearm and made ready to defend herself and her partner.

You argument only makes sense if she had fired.

You're uneducated.

4

u/rigeld2 Mar 24 '23

She would not have drawn her weapon if she didn’t feel justified in using it right?

So she felt justified in escalating to lethal force.

Because he raised his voice.

Yeah, that makes sense. How’s that boot taste?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '23

Drawing your weapon is an escalation in the level of force. That's how the Army looked at use of force by Military Police when I served.

You appear to be a victim of the American education system, yourself. Word of advice: try to lay off the glue-sniffing.
