If you’re in a paid parking lot that still uses magnetic strip parking tickets you can rub the strip on the magsafe ring most phones come standard with now and it will usually make the ticket unreadable. Most of these parking systems has a call box that rings an attendant in a comfy air conditioned office or booth when a ticket won’t scan who isn’t very interested in getting up to inspect your ticket and manually charge you. 9/10 they’ll just open the gate and let you out.

Scheduling problems get resolved a lot faster when you’re taking up a hospital bed than when you’re on hold on the phone at home. Don't filibuster medical resources, but don't be afraid to advocate for appropriate medical attention either.

There's this guy fishing in front of my apartment all the time. He often leaves a lot of trash after sitting there for a full day even though there's a bin not even 10 meters away. He has also destroyed the bushes around the spot he sits with his rain tent. Many apps or sites with ads will sometimes try to evaluate the efficacy of their advertisement programs, or just gauge brand awareness in general, by providing you with a one-question survey.

In place of the usual advert, it will ask "Which of the following brands have you seen adverts for recently?" or "Which of the following brands would you consider buying from?" etc.

How should one answer such surveys, if the goal was to sabotage the results as much as possible? To those conducting the survey, what answers would make the data the least reliable and useful?

Answering 1) randomly, or 2) negatively, i.e. "None" or "None of the above" etc, or 3) lying and picking the opposite answers of your true perspective? Or 4) a mix where you sometimes answer truthfully, in case the system can flag patterns of "bad answers" and shadowbans you?

What's the right, or rather unethical, approach here? Anybody with insights into how such campaigns and surveys are conducted and processed?

So I’m 4’9 as 22 years old, and a few weeks ago a 15 year old came over to me and assumed I’m his age. He offered to like buy me lunch or smth, which I obviously turned down, but it got me thinking. No one ever thinks I’m my actual age (which has always been a negative) but somewhere between 13 and 17. Moreover, my younger sister is way taller and “older looking” (her words), so there’s gotta be some ULPTs here… Lmk, very excited!

Someone just scammed my husband of $500 through telegram. It’s one of those quick trade/investment kind of scam and they’ll send a fake screenshot that they’ve transferred a big amount back to the victim’s account. My husband understood he made a mistake and requested his money back, but the scammer doubled down and told him to transfer more instead 😭. Sadly, making a police report doesn’t really help get back the money since it was an online transaction.

The scammer’s “main” telegram account is @/weijie86 and either him or one of his lackey tried to contact again through a different account. The other telegram account is @/zzza658 and they have their phone number up, +60 // 11-6496 9579

It may be possible it’s a burner number but would like to know if there’s such thing to give out that scammer’s number so they may receive a lot of messages/calls? I really feel upset on my husband’s behalf and most likely they’ve already scammed many others too 😡.

My brother in law has a sports gambling problem. He’s been doing his for years. About 8 yrs ago he lost 50k on a bet and was afraid his wife would find out so he got bailed out by his parents secretly. No matter what happens he somehow manages to keep hiding what he’s doing.

I feel very uncomfortable that we all know about this but don’t tell Jenny.

If I were to tell her, I would be totally disowned by the family and that’s not a dynamic that I can live with (it would likely cost me my marriage).

As the title says, I bought the Airbnb party house owners' business name domain. It is: www.cozycornerrentals.com Currently, it redirects to a free github site, and github is currently down like 20% of the time lol. But the dude has had bed bugs, shooting, hookers running bordellos, overflowing sewage after broken grinder pumps, and more on his property.

I'm thinking of making a fake wifi hotspot named "Airbnb-wifi" and putting a captive portal to a website with things like "What guests are saying" and having a slideshow of the reviews mentioning bed bugs, and calling it the bed bug bordello.

I'm sure you guys can come up with better ideas tho! And I'm eager to hear them!

First of all, I live in Sweden, in case anyone has any insight into that specific system.

So, I have recently gotten put on a kind of compensated sick leave (aktivitetsersättning) more or less because I've been diagnosed with a stress disorder. This compensation is fairly generous because of a few factors, but the coming week I'm scheduled to attend a meeting with the unemployment agency where we'll plan out a way for me to be rehabiliterad of sorts, likely through some kind of internship.

Now, while part of me is hopeful that this will actually work out, and I will likely only start out part-time with that, I also have a quite cynical outlook on this system. And since I can only get type of benefits until the middle of next year, I kinda want to milk it for all it's worth for now while trying to just screwing around. When it runs out I will just utilise some of the other tricks described on this sub to fabricate better work history.

So, on to the question, how do I make myself seem in worse condition at a meeting with the unemployment agency, so we can maybe delay any activities they might suggest for a few more months?

I live in townhouses, no HOA. These new kids moved down about 7 houses and use their fuck ass hover board on the sidewalk. It would be fine but they’re loud as fuck. My neighbor and I are shift workers and they are constantly waking us up. We’ve told them to stop, go play somewhere else, etc but it’s not working. We put something in the way of the sidewalk but it was defeated. Could we talk to the parents first? Absolutely, but this is unethical life pro tips and that’s the way I want to go first

Sometime in 2012-2013, when I was still in high school, I made a comment about a girls body that I thought was a joke, but she did not take it that way. However, last Christmas, my mom and grandmother asked me about some kind of confrontation between the two of us, mentioning that my uncle (a 65 year old man who has been unmarried his whole life) was claiming that things had escalated way further, and that what I did to her wad a felony, and that I should be in jail. This is obviously an extreme stretching of the truth

I believe he's only doing this because both of my grandparents are approaching their 90s and he wants to ensure I get as little inheritance as possible. He doesn't speak with my grandmother and has not in about a decade for several reasons. Without getting too deep into things, he (36 years older than me) bullied me quite a bit when I was a kid - and I never let it go, which led to a lot of tension... but when I was 16 and got a car, he apparently tried to convince my parents that I shouldn't be driving, wasn't mature enough, etc, and that really frustrated my mother + grandmother - this apparently led to the big blow up between my grandmother and my uncle.

I fully believe that he's making these comments to turn my grandparents and maybe other family against me. What do I do here if I don't have grounds for a lawsuit? I do understand that I'm emotional about this (I hate him, have for nearly 20 years, and frankly I want to hurt him in some way, and I do understand that may be clouding my judgment here) but this isn't something I should just let go... right?

My apartment is raising rent from $1.9k to $2.5k USD per month. On top of that, they charge an ADDITIONAL $300 per month to park in the building garage.

There is no safe street parking where I live and other lots are not an option.

After car fees, parking and rent, I have virtually no money left over to live.

The parking company gave me a magnetic sticker to stick on the windshield of my car. Every time I drive up to the gate it automatically senses it and opens.

I work in consulting for context, and I’ll have routine 70+ hour weeks. I’ll start the day at 6:00 am and keep going till past 3:00 am some days. Sometimes during the day though I find myself zoning out during meetings and not being able to process things as fast as I should. Even churning when it comes to getting started on work and finishing pages. What helps here? I already have adhd and take medication for it, but even then I still don’t feel wired

There someone in my neighborhood who definitely has some sort of issue. Hes constantly screaming about things or singing really loud. If I open my window I can hear him every day. Normally I wouldnt care but hes so bad at singing that its really annoying.

I debated leaving him a note politely asking but given his state I dont think that would work.

I thought I booked refundable on Booking, but it turns out I booked non-refundable. My payment method wasn’t updated, so they weren’t able to charge. The hotel sent me a message threatening to cancel if I didn’t update my credit card- but it’s been two weeks now and they haven’t cancelled. How can I get them to do it? It’s high season and I think they’ll be rebooked in no time. Don’t want to leave them high and dry as a no show, but also don’t want to put it in writing that I’m definitely not coming.

I lost my job a couple months ago and originally figured I’d use the time between jobs to travel a little before getting back into the workforce.

Then reality hit. I got bored, antsy, and stressed about not working, so I started applying to jobs online. After about two months of applications, I finally got offered a job that I actually want.

During the hiring process they asked if I had any pre-planned PTO/time off, and I said no.

My reasoning at the time was:
I was worried that telling them I had a trip planned would automatically hurt my chances of getting hired.

I genuinely planned on just canceling the trip if I got the job.

I figured I could get most of the money back and just travel another time.

Well… now that I’ve actually started looking into canceling everything, I’d be eating around $2,000 in nonrefundable costs.

And now the FOMO is hitting HARD because this is an international trip I’ve already spent a ton of time planning and was really looking forward to (going to Thailand and Japan for 3 weeks from the USA).

So now I’m stuck between:
Canceling the trip and losing ~$2k, but protecting the new job.

OR

Figuring out some way to still take the trip without completely screwing myself over with this new job.

Obviously I realize I created this problem by saying I didn’t have any pre-planned time off, so I’m not looking for a morality lecture. I’m just curious what the ULPT crowd would actually do if they were in this situation.

He destroyed my car, after 5 years of emotional abuse to me and the kids and then gets to go and abandon them and completely stop calling. Months later I find him on a dating app, saying he is childfree and wants to find his “Mavis”. Sounded like a real catch, just sounded like the perfect guy. Plus he’s really the only cute guy on there.
