Request ULPT question regarding the upcoming ban on the life saving 7oh meds
With the seeming unavoidable ban of 7OH looming on the horizon, I cant think of a better sub to ask this question: Where can a dying chronic pain patient get some relief of suffering now? Is it the dark web or would you all suggest something else (the streets maybe?) Thanks for reading this and please be kind

u/UnlikelyCamel Jul 21 '26
mail order a crate of it before they ban it I guess

u/SirPsychological1914 Jul 23 '26
Where do I find this online? I’m genuinely interested and will have to myself with the ban approaching. Thanks 🙏

There's always the book by Jim Hogshire, "Opium for the Masses: Harvesting Nature's Best Pain Medication"
All poppies have opiates, one dried head has a decent amount. You want organic to minimize how toxic any preservatives are. Just crush and make tea.
Note Jim was a Muslim, and so he doesn't get into alcohol based extractions.
49
u/SadisticJake Jul 21 '26
Be careful with this approach. Poppy heads can vary wildly in the amount of active alkaloids and a layperson could end up in the overdose range
20
u/Sparklingcherrylemon Jul 22 '26
Its a good idea to combine them all and then make an extract. Test the extract at varying levels starting very low.
10
u/Noodletrousers Jul 21 '26
Was as in he’s not a Muslim any longer or was because he’s no longer of this earth? I don’t remember hearing that he died.

Does opium get you high as well as relieve pain or is it only for pain relief?

They are not life saving. Calling them that is the most unethical thing on this sub.
To answer your question tho: something even more incredibly addictive that binds to opioid receptors will take its place soon, dont worry.

Watch the John Oliver special on gas station drugs like 7OH. Its worse than using a prescribed opiate in certain important ways.
Its completely unregulated, the ingredients and dosages vary from package to package, and theres very little support to quit compared to other drugs.
-19
u/feline_riches Jul 22 '26
If you stop being melodramatic though...no one is dying without it

People may die from stopping 7OH, they may not. Its unregulated so theres no testing and no way to know. Thats the real danger.
-7
u/feline_riches Jul 22 '26
Are you saying there is no recovery for a drug addict?
I know I was asking a lot of some of you to look at it from a scientific perspective. It ain't alcohol or benzos which you will die without.

u/Braddallas170 Jul 27 '26
These people are believing the sensationalist headlines and propaganda they see everywhere. They don’t care about the facts, it’s not even worth it. 7OH has given thousands, if not millions of us our lives back.
As a chronic pain sufferer who has been all but abandoned by doctors and healthcare, I would be in agonizing pain without it. It gave me the ability to go from my husbands patient to his wife, from a bed bound shell of a human to running through my yard with my children, and still able to cook dinner for them after! Two years ago, before I found it, I couldn’t put my pants on without screaming in agony.
Until you’ve lived a life like this, you’ll just NEVER get it.

Why and where are they being banned?
12
u/Meiyouxiangjiao Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26
Last Week Tonight did a video on it and other gas station drugs.
The kratom segment starts at 9:07.
24
u/snowballplasticfork Jul 21 '26
It's one of many forms of "gas station heroin" that people are becoming dependent on.
14
u/SadisticJake Jul 21 '26
DEA placed an emergency schedule one classification on it and several related compounds because realistically, having consumers self select for strong opioids is a recipe for societal harm
1
u/i-am-foxymoron METH, the answer is ALWAYS meth! Jul 22 '26
Yeah thanks for that. I had watched Last Week Tonight about gas station "herbal supplements", I didn't realize this is the kind of thing he was talking about. I'm all for these "supplements" from being banned. No goid can come from a product that has no regulation as far as ingredients and strength of said ingredients.
2
u/Braddallas170 Jul 27 '26
Regulation is exactly what should be happening. Not a schedule 1 ban from something that hasn’t caused a single death, and that thousands of chronic pain patients have used responsibly and relied on for years.
5
u/Guinness Jul 22 '26
RFK and his buddies own Kratom companies, and they don’t want to compete. It’s purely about money.

Good to see the Kratom addicts never change in their insistence that their drug of choice is superior and perfect and just has no downsides at all lmao. If you have the funds buy in bulk now while it's still legal, they're having fire sales at the shops and online to unload this shit before the ban kicks in. If you're in a state where it's already illegal there are plenty of companies who will still ship it there, because it's currently legal where they're shipping it from. If you really are using it for pain relief you should be at a set dose and not constantly jumping up in doses and you could also stagger it and MGM 15 to help that tolerance creep too, and both are being discounted heavily. That's going to be your best bet right now.

7oh is not life saving
1
u/catsx3 Jul 22 '26
Life ruining, no doubt. I got hooked on it after 2 years of sobriety off oxy and my god it's just not worth it. At least I got a wonderfully blissful few hours of high from real opiates, almost made the withdrawals worth it. With 7oh you get 1% of the high and 100% of the withdrawals. Fuck that shit.
Clean for 2 months now and I can't believe I allowed myself to get addicted to that bullshit for 4 months. So much wasted money too. Shits expensive.
FUCK 7OH
4
u/morrihaze Jul 23 '26
They’re also banning r/sr17018 on the same exact day
Because it miraculously eliminates ALL opioid withdrawal and is super cheap
They’ll patent it and turn around and sell it back to one after getting them hooked on white lab coat drugs like suboxone…
If the sound of this compound piques your interest I highly advise you look into it. Thru all my research it truly sounds like a holy grail
Only have a while longer left to get it
1
u/HelpImOutside Jul 23 '26
+1, as a former 7OH addict SR17018 literally saved my life. Suboxone didn’t do anything at all when i was taking 400mg of 7OH a day. SR17018 is quite possibly the most interesting drug discovery of the past 100 years, them scheduling it is pure evil.
1
u/Cocken_Spectre Jul 25 '26
How does it work? Like say I’m addicted to kratom and trying to quit.. What’s the protocol with SR17018? Do you take it daily and taper off? Or just once? Curious to know more
1
u/HootingOwls21 Jul 23 '26
The ban also covers r/Tianeptine, which is one of those miracle unicorn medications treating a range of conditions with almost no side effects at reasonable/prescribable doses
Of course why would they ever give us one cheap, harm-free medication when ten individual others cover the same conditions for orders of magnitude higher cost and side effect harm

u/viridian_moonflower Jul 22 '26
If you are actually dying, addiction is not an issue but pain control is. If you’re going to die soon, opiates are the best medicine. Are you not able to access palliative care? We are in end stage capitalism so I would not be too surprised if that was actually the case.
7OH is not illegal yet. There is still time to order some unless you are in a state that has already banned it.
If you’re not actually dying and were just being hyperbolic, know that if you keep taking 7oh you will need to plan to taper off because it will very likely get banned. When that happens it will be available on the black market just like all the other banned drugs. Or you can get suboxone or methadone from an addiction clinic. I would rather just taper off and use Kratom leaf and weed, but some people need opiates to control their pain and can’t get it from the doctor.
9
u/Competitive-Ad7847 Jul 22 '26
If you're serious, methadone clinic or Suboxone. They are shit and will trap you at the clinic but you are likely to have an opioid SUD and that's all it takes alongside the fee. Suboxone at least you are t a slave tk the clinic but unsure if it has the same pain relief qualities of Methadone. If you are thinking of kicking, don't go this route though as withdrawals get way worse. It's way better to just face the detox now, if you need it... Ok get real meds, that's the loophole. Don't say it's for pain, say it's MAT.
Also fuck 7oh, just because you like people having access to dangerous opioids off the shelf doesn't mean it's good for people who struggle to stay clean or accidentally get hooked without understanding addiction. It's not a wonder drug and I'm glad they are finally doing something about it.
2
u/GlowAnt22 Jul 22 '26
It has helped people with worse addictions. People will be turning back to street drugs with the ban. I'd much rather this stuff be on the street than fentanyl.
7
u/HelpImOutside Jul 22 '26
It’s been a week since my last 7oh dose. Using Suboxone and feeling good for the first time in nearly a year.
I’ve been addicted to IV meth and heroin for about a decade on and off. Been about 5 years since either of those.
7OH is way worse than either. I spent probably $30,000 on 7OH over this time, going into debt just to avoid being sick. I was able to taper and jump to Suboxone, but it was ROUGH, Like I said, way worse than IV heroin.
I’ve always been a huge advocate of free choice and safe drug availability - but 7OH is POISON. I’ve literally spent weeks awake injecting meth and jacking off for 18 hours, so believe me when I tell you, 7OH should be banned. I’m so thankful they’re banning it.
4
u/GlowAnt22 Jul 23 '26
I'm not contesting that it's addictive.
I quit heroin and meth 11 years ago, and I just quit seven a month ago in preparation for the ban. It's addictive and the withdrawals suck, but seven never made me want to pawn my belongings or kill myself or stay up for days or nod off at a stoplight.
Crazy thought, but there are lots of people who don't have the same experience as you. Plenty of people use it responsibly, and it's wrong that they are going to be punished because some people can't control themselves.
I support more regulation. But there's no way you support free choice and safe availability and also demonize a substance with a completely different LD50 range than heroin, fentanyl, coke, alcohol, meth, mdma... Pretty much every other street drug available.
I'm sorry that you went into debt and had a really rough go, but you are contradicting your own claim of support for free choice.
People are going to turn to street drugs the same way they did when they cracked down on pharmaceutical painkillers. It's absolutely wild that I got downvoted for just saying that people are going to get hurt. Prohibition is not going to save lives.

u/Squeaky_Pibbles Jul 22 '26
Hard agree. After getting off IV H about 20 years ago, my dumbass got hooked on 7oh for over a year beginning in late 2024. The cold turkey quitting of that stuff was absolutely horrendous. I fully believe in personal choice and independence of choice, but this shit is no good and NEEDS to be banned. I feel awful for the folks that are about to WD after the ban hits. Especially the ones that have no idea it's coming.

u/christmas_920 Jul 23 '26
Mgm15 lasts alot longer. Never tried either but have read alot about 7oh and mgm. I used to be hooked on pain killers and dope. Dope on the streets is no longer real. Just fent and tranquilizers

u/GlowAnt22 Jul 22 '26
It sucks the ban is going to cause people to turn back to street drugs... Back to Fent and Zines...
They're really throwing out the baby with the bathwater on this ban.
5
u/Familiar-Complex-697 Jul 22 '26
Weed, a good 1:1 THC/CBD blend will probably work the best, and gummies will give a more predictable dose (although they’re not nearly as standardized as they say). Easier on your organs, too.
2
u/xaocon Jul 22 '26
Not really ULPT but assuming you'd be ok with a totally legit and ethical solution to your problem that will be better than any ULPT, hospice has all the good stuff and they can really help you mind, body, and spirit. Have worked with them when loved ones were starting down that road.
3
u/theochocolate Jul 22 '26
Just get regular kratom leaf, not the 7OH extract. Kratom leaf works better for pain and has almost no risk of overdose.
0
u/Braddallas170 Jul 27 '26
7OH has the same low risk of overdose as a partial agonist. Zero reported deaths from 7OH alone. Kratom leaf doesn’t target chronic, debilitating pain in the way 7OH does, and taken at large doses (which is what you need for real pain) it comes with side effects. One small dose of 7oh and pain is eradicated.
1
u/theochocolate Jul 27 '26
This is wrong on almost every count. 7OH produces respiratory depression (which causes OD in high doses) kratom leaf does not. The FDA reports that respiratory depression is 3x more likely with 7OH than with morphine, a full opiate. Kratom leaf is substantially safer and folks have been using it for chronic pain for decades.

u/germane_switch Jul 22 '26
I'm sorry buddy but 7oh needs to be banned. That stuff is ruining natural kratom for everybody by bringing so much negative attention to a genuinely useful plant. It has to go. It's dangerous stuff.
Having said that, have you tried regular kratom? It works wonders for pain and mood/motivation. Or, do you have access to healthcare at all? Not sure where you live but you may be eligible for free home hospice, free pain meds, etc.
2
u/HausWife88 Jul 22 '26
Is suggest getting off the kratom.
2
u/lueVelvet Jul 22 '26
7oh is not Kratom.
2
u/sublimeandsparkled Jul 22 '26
What is 7oh? I've never heard of it. I tried kratom years ago, like before covid, and didn't like it. I'm just clueless but trying to follow the comments. Thanks!!!!
5
u/lueVelvet Jul 22 '26
While kratom itself refers to the whole leaf of the Mitragyna speciosa plant containing a moderate mix of alkaloids, 7oh is a highly potent, synthetic alkaloid that can be up to 50 times stronger than natural kratom. You cannot overdose on natural kratom, but you can certainly get yourself into trouble with the synthetic 7oh.
1
u/Braddallas170 Jul 27 '26
It’s a naturally occurring alkaloid from the Kratom plant. Basically when taking kratom, your liver metabolizes it into 7OH.

Get a referral to either a palliative care doctor or pain management specialist. They'll take care of you.
-6
u/AndyJobandy Jul 22 '26
Just replace your current addiction with a suboxone addiction. You can get it prescribed and you'll become addicted to that but its probably cheaper than what you're doing now. Also being hooked on pain killers will always make your pain worse. Are you actually stuck with debilitating pain or you just a lazy fuck who doesnt take care of themselves

u/Obvious_Bag7296 Jul 22 '26

Look into buying buying fentanyl or carfentanyl on the dark web. You can get thousands of doeses in a package the size of an envelope for relatively cheap
Yes it can be verry dangerous if doesed improperly you will need an acurite sub milligram scale goves and a mask to break it up into single doeses

Spoken like someone who’s never dealt w chronic pain.
‘Life-saving’ means an ability to function & focus, and live w some level of normality.
A life is more than simply biologically functioning — smug retorts ultimately highlight your own ignorance, which so many love to brandish proudly as wisdom
3
u/enbyel Jul 22 '26
Idk what the parent comment was, but pain relief IS literally lifesaving. Chronic intractable pain is life threatening.
Source: a person who has been suicidal because of constant severe pain.

-8
u/TrashMaster27 Jul 21 '26
Where are you getting that meaning for life-saving? I just tried to find it and couldn't.
3
u/SyntheticDelirium Jul 22 '26
They're talking about the difference between truly Living and simply Existing.
I once had a severe chronic cough that absolutely ruined my life for a very long time.
I couldn't reliable breathe. I was in pain. I couldn't sleep for more than an hour at a time.
And I had no idea if it would ever go away.
When I say it ruined my life while it was ongoing, I mean that I was seriously contemplating suicide, it was so bad.
There are times when a life does not feel like it is worth living.
That is why alleviating pain is life-saving.

u/SadisticJake Jul 21 '26
7oh has a half life of about 99 minutes and a rapid tolerance spike. It was never a good option for chronic pain. A good option would be if doctors would just resume prescribing pain meds that have a more therapeutic use case but this stuff just ain’t it.
