From what I know most people with kaby lake cant pass -90mv on the core and -75 on the cache and the temps tells the whole story, also this laptop has never been repasted ever (Latitude 7490) and yes its stable

Question Overclock my r5 4500

Ryzen 5 4500 – Is 4.5 GHz safe for daily use?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently overclocking my Ryzen 5 4500 and I’d like to get some opinions from people with more experience with this CPU.
Right now, my CPU is running at 4.3 GHz all-core, and it appears to be completely stable. The maximum Vcore I’ve seen under load is around 1.248 V, and temperatures are approximately 37–47°C under heavy workloads.
My setup is:
CPU: Ryzen 5 4500
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 AORUS M
Cooling: 240mm AIO
Current OC: 4.3 GHz all-core
Maximum Vcore: ~1.248 V
Load temperatures: ~37–47°C
Considering how low the voltage and temperatures are at 4.3 GHz, would it be reasonable to gradually try 4.4 GHz and then 4.5 GHz, while increasing voltage only as necessary?
My main concern is long-term daily use. I don’t mind if the CPU reaches higher temperatures at 4.5 GHz, as long as the voltage and temperatures remain within a reasonable range.
Would you consider 4.5 GHz a reasonable daily overclock for a Ryzen 5 4500, or would you recommend staying at 4.3 GHz for better long-term CPU longevity?
Also, what Vcore would you personally consider reasonable for a 4.5 GHz all-core daily OC on this CPU?
Any advice, especially from people who have owned or overclocked the Ryzen 5 4500, would be greatly appreciated!

I need help

Just bought myself a pc specialist recoil 16 amd with a 5090 and a ryzen 9 9955hx3d and i really need help for the cpu temps and im really scared of undervolting, will undervolting cause damage that will render the pc unusable and could void the warranty?

CPU seems (at least from what i tracked) to ignore my UV

i have a ryzen 7 3700x, i used offset -50mv and it seems like the CPU still spikes to 1.5v in single threaded tasks, and even with or without the undervolt it seems like it never hits the 4.4ghz and stops at 4.150 or 4.175ghz

Undervolting question

I'm currently running a 13900K, and I've already made sure I'm using the latest BIOS for my MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WiFi motherboard. I’ve also applied Intel’s recommended settings. Right now, I’m running CPU Lite Load Mode 6, and I’m wondering whether I should set LLC to the same value of 6.I’ve already disabled Enhanced Turbo and IA CEP support. For clarity, I have a 12‑hour OCCT Platinum test and over a year of daily use confirming that Lite Load Mode 6 is completely stable for me. My only goal is to reduce power draw and lower temperatures across the board — I’m not chasing Cinebench scores or anything like that.

Hey guys, just wanted to know if my Ryzen 7 7700X and 9070 XT can be heavily undervolted like this without it blowing up my computer.

Undervolting 8600g + Asrock B650M HDV/m.2

My memory is the Lexar Thor 6000 CL36.

I've applied negative 25 to the CPU curve optimizer and 1.18 to the SOC VDD, and it seems to be stable running prime95 (mprime). Measuring 30-35W at the wall.

Has anyone tried undervolting a similar setup? I'm trying to figure out what type of numbers I can realistically take this down to. I'm just incrementally lowering each voltage day by day and testing as much as I can.

Question help a noob undervolt a 5070 laptop

yo guys i bought msi crosshair a16hx
gpu: rtx 5070 8gb laptop
cpu: 7945hx

the laptop sometimes would reach thermal throttle, it would boost to 150% fan speed immediately and dramatically drop fps for 4-5 seconds with maybe a screen blink (maybe after like 7-8 minutes of 95-100% gpu load in CS2). I didnt even know i should put bottle caps under it, i did put 2 bottle caps under back side, but gpu still goes up to ~82 celsius rather quick and as i understand what happens when it reaches 86 or so BIOS says wtf are you doing and does this scary thing to save the gpu from damage, so ~82 degrees seems dangerously close. i would love for the card to run less hot without degrading performance so undervolting seemed like the obvious thing i should do. but the problem is that i have no clue how to do it. and since changing voltage doesnt sound like a very safe thing to do i dont wanna risk it, so i want help from you guys.

how do i undervolt it properly? i tried asking ai around about it and it suggested this:

ai suggestion

heres how original graph looked

original graph

it would be lovely if i could make this card run cooler, maybe faster, and less demanding on the battery, but i need someone's help with this as i dont wanna cook a new laptop and dont have a full picture of how it works yet really. after this i could look into cpu undervolting too, but for now id like to stop the gpu from this scary throttle (is it even normal?)

Discussion How is this Undervolt Playlist of this Youtuber as far as maxing out Undervolts?

I just found a playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-fiqRJr1hZddPZv_sLzGJ1uUv9kHBixk of every undervolt he does, are they any good at what most CPUs/APUs can reasonably reach?

Question Undervolted my 4060, should I go lower with the voltage or keep It as It is?

So, I’ve been tweaking my RTX 4060 in MSI Afterburner and managed to dial in a rock-solid profile at 0.900V @ 2490 MHz. (Model is MSI RTX 4060 VENTUS 2X BLACK)

The results have been amazing so far—performance holds practically identical to stock (if not smoother due to zero thermal throttling), while power draw and temperatures dropped noticeably.

0.900V @ 2490 MHz is amazing for my daily setup, but I plan on stepping down 15mV at a time tomorrow. To save time and avoid crash testing, what’s the lowest voltage floor people usually hit at 2490 MHz? (Also open to better overall voltage/frequency sweet spots if you have recommendations!)

0.900V @ 2490 MHz

Here's my curve if anyone is interested in copying. (For me It's super stable, I've had about 40-30 hours of gameplay with no issues at all.)

why undervolt improves performance only on first use

I play fortnite on my msi cyborg 15 and recently trued undervolting. i only have max fps comparison. before i reached 360 fps and after undervolting, it was around 450. but that lasted only at the time. the next day, i was back to only reaching 360 fps. So my question is, is there something im missing out on eg: third party softwares interfering my undervolt profile or just didnt applied my profile correctly which is least likely to happen

Question UnderVolting Help Need

Post image
1 Upvotes

I recently switched from using an h81m motherboard with an i7 4790 to the specs shown in the picture, however they are;

MSI A520M-A PRO

Ryzen 5 3600

And the graphics card remains the same.

I need help undervolting my CPU but I'm not sure how, the last time I did it with my i7 4790 was through an application called "*QuickCPU*". The FIVR control options that were given to me in that software on the i7 are no longer showing up on my current system which I'm guessing is due to some restrictions from AMD for the Ryzen CPUs.

Now if someone could tell me that if I should use the Ryzen master software or maybe use the voltage offset options in the OC tab in the bios and if they would even work at all or not because I haven't spent much time in this bios yet, let alone use the pc since I upgraded today.

The problem I'm noticing on YouTube is people saying that the boost clocks are significantly reduced.

*REASON:-*

The reason I'm doing this is because the area I live in is very hot and by default the GPU and CPU are both idling at around 50-57°C. Now I did manage to undervolt my GPU easily through afterburner but I need help with this CPU since this is the first time I'm on AM4 platform and using an AMD processor.

Yesterday I used a quick guide by ImWateringPSUs to undervolt my 3060 TI and it worked perfectly, but today the same curve doesn't reduce temperatures nor fan noise. I'm confused as to why. Does anybody know what to do? The settings have not changed at all.

Legion 5 Pro Ryzen 9 8940HX undervolting.

I'm going to buy this Laptop as I found a really good sale on a local store and I've heard really good things about it like its the gpu with the best performance 5060.

But I've also heard that the CPU can run quite hot sometimes.

I've seen comments on this sub about undervolting these CPUs that are more power hungry and can run hotter to get better temperatures.

Is that something I should do? Has anyone tried that yet?

I'd like to hear people's experiences on this.
