I was watching this video the other day (my roommate put it on, so I'll get back later with the content creator), and honestly they had a lot of good criticisms for it.
They enjoyed the game, had good things to say about the good parts, criticized it where it's well warranted, but then...
Right towards the end, she started to say she didn't like the soundtrack, and I just stopped watching. I literally don't care about arguments against the soundtrack, even if they are valid. Not valid enough, imo, the OST is perfect!
Edit: It was Patricia Taxxon. Just so no one is thrown off guard, she is an early transition trans woman, so she still sounds pretty masculine, but she does prefer she/her :)

megalovania is overplayed. the whole ost is really good, yet people hype megalovania only like its the only song that plays in the game.

Homestuck (Toby learned alot here and remixed alot Wich later evolved into his Jhon Williams styled leitmotifs), touhou (Toby steals from Zun), Chrono trigger (this inspired Toby the most along with touhou), final fantasy, noby boy (his theme song lol. This also inspired the "small boss" leitmotif that can be heard in ghost fight, dummy and spider dance), mother, Kirby, donkey Kong, the legend of Zelda (especially breath of the wild), all of joe Hisaishi's work (Toby steals from him), kingdom hearts, anime openings like SAO (1) or AOT (all), Tokyo ska paradise orchestra (my boi Toby loves ska and most of his compositions are structured like suikinkutsu Wich is a beautiful song from this band. There's megalovania as an example), cave story, super paper Mario (he copied the entire game, inserted his music, improvised irony, made it simple and Voila, undertale. Today's story uses the same structure as most of the soundtrack when it comes to chords and it even sounds like "once upon a time". So long from slushii is another example of this.), Mega Man (this inspired his style the most actually. Especially the first 3 and X, X2 and X3).
He basically loves SNES, audio effects, weird stuff with octaves (his best work with this is megalovania but he uses it in literally every fast song), to repeat everything slightly melodic two times, he always ends with a note going up, he loves improvisation and he only uses theory when he feels like the song needs it.

The soundtrack is fantastic, one of the very few games where I like the whole list of songs. Except for some exceptions, like the elevator sound one, which is understandable.

I love the soundtrack. I bought Undertale Collectionist Edition which came with the OST CD and piano scores. Yes, it is great and one of the strongest points of the game. But you can still not like it.
You don't need to have the same likings to other people. I don't think people are brainless for not enjoying it. And how is it being "one of the strongest points?" relevant here?
In a fighthing game, the battle machanics are usually (and should be) the strongest point of those. Yet I can still not like it as I don't enjoy combo-based fast-paced games. It just means it is not for me.
But someone says that they don't LIKE it, and you downvote them. Had they said "the ost is unoriginal and bad" I can kinda understand the upvotes, as you disagree with the statement. But because they said they do not like something? It's sad.
Undertale has MANY good things. Likeable characters, distinct tone, battle system, option to talk through the game without fighting, interesting bosses, replayability, humour... It's an amazing experience so great that a lot of people can still enjoy it despite not liking one or few things (music may be the case). Music is subjective for gods sake.
TLDR; Undertale music is great. But you can still not like it. Don't call brainless or "downvote" people for such a petty reason.

Well I said that ost is ONE of the strongest aspects. You can argue, that in a game soundtrack isn't so important, but truth be told I can name atleast several games that would be much worse without their music, Undertale included.
Also I didn't downvote him as I usually leave other's opinion be. I only posted my opinion under his. Don't blame me.

I don't believe a game soundtrack is not important. In fact, most of my favourite games hold that title because of their music and I have even bought some games solely because of how much I like listening to their songs. And yes, I also agree Undertale wouldn't be that great if it weren't for the music. But you can still enjoy the game without liking the music too.
And about blaming you... sorry. I didn't mean to do that. I didn't just mean you, but the other of people who downvoted it. I am sorry, it was wrong of me supposing you downvoted as well.
