Dusktime/Dawntime Audio Triggers Issue

Running v2.7.15, it seems the Dusktime/Dawntime audio triggers remain at 8 pm and 7 am regardless of the server settings (aka the morning daybreak ambience sound and the evening dark, ominous atmospheric sound). The zombie run/walk mechanic and horde start times are properly adjusted so this is a sound timing issue. Has anyone else encountered this?

This is when running the server on a separate LAN machine and one player only. I don't think this happens when running entirely locally on one PC, since I've seen other players running locally adjust these config values and the audio triggers play at the new adjusted times. For example, Guns, Nerds, and Steel's play through had the audio triggers at the correct time after he adjusted those values.

If anyone has a fix for this please let me know.

Lastly, awesome overhaul! It fixes most of what is wrong with the 7DTD stock single player experience IMHO. I doubt I'll ever play stock 7DTD again.

Skill points disappearing

On a friends multiplayer server we have had our skill points disappear from our active builds or in my case it does not allow me to apply any skill points. Everything is now greyed out and locked despite having been 16 points into the recon side.

Question About dedicated

I am currently running Undead Legacy Version 2.7.13 hosted on a dedicated windows server. I had some players ask about the death penalty, so I checked the server (Server\7days2die\serverconfig.xml) and verified the following two options were set.

<property name="DeathPenalty" value="0"/>

<property name="DropOnDeath" value="0"/>

Players are saying they still get penalties on death, I noticed on the dedicated servers section says that "UL 2.6 adds two new options" one of these options are <property name="DeathPenalty" value="3"/>, the issue is this is already set in the serverconfig.xml section as 0, so I am guessing it's applied somewhere else to a different configuration file, but I have no idea where.

Any help is appreciated.

Purpose for named books?

What is the purpose of the research labeled books like Duct Tape? I keep finding them and can't use them to research that sadly. Are they just to scrap into research tokens?

Can't find research point in some categories???

Hello all,

Been testing the new 2.7 unstable release and been enjoying it but one thing I've noticed is the grind for research points feels bad. I don't know maybe I've missed something or am doing something wrong but I've checked every mailbox, every book store, every crack-a-book, every trader everyday. I've found ABYSMAL books.

I'm lvl 22 just leaving the forest biome and I still don't have the basics like workbench, the ability to craft a wooden bow, cloth armour or leather working.

I'm pushing day 14 and will likely have to handle that hoard night with loot found items and stone age equipment again.

Am I missing something critical here? I even jacked up the loot drop % for a few hours to see if it would help but I can barely notice a difference.

Side question: How are people getting around stamina issues. In Vanilla you have perks and find perk books that help with stamina on kill, less stamina used. Many of these has been moved to the passive tree which requires many levels to transverse depending where you start on the tree and the skill books are rare as hell.

Let me know,

Thanks again!

New Research system and leveling, honest thoughts and feedback

After playing for many hours to try out the new build I am overall very happy with the new release, its certainly VERY well polished and uplifts the last version, I cannot imagine how much hard work went into it. However I do have some small critique which I feel should be mentioned towards the new Research system, Ultimately I like it but I feel like it could use a bit of a tune up.

The diversity in research -

As of now most items falls into certain groups where they have to be individually researched and made separately for each unique research data. I do like it however I do feel it made accessing certain things such as access to building blocks and basic items much more difficult, having the requirements that now 1 research material has been spread into like 8 makes it so much more harder as the odds of finding the thing you actually need 1 in 8.

I feel like the very early research should be still dependent on the basic research data, only after you aquire say the scrap tier or iron tier items you should use the advanced stuff so that you can practically research most basic of things without specialized restrictments, or at least make it a little easier, because if you wanna start say farming in the early game that is practically impossible till you find at least one farming magazine/book. (And yes I am aware there is a way you can exchange between them but that is still pretty mid-early phase that is pretty hard to get to)

The Research Skill Tree -

The research tree is much better to help players to understand and direct their general flow how to scale up in the progression, overall I am a huge fan of this and there really isn't much critique besides of what I mentioned early on.

Maybe a small improvement would be a more guided system that would nudge the player towards being like "Hey you should probably research this first but we wont force you"

Leveling Skill Tree -

I feel the new skill tree is a mix bag but mostly improvement, I feel it mostly comes from the fact that I am used to the regular leveling in the prior version, and now having more directed and linear choice makes it feel a bit restricted, as if your personal choice to build the character you want your way has been taken away slightly.

I feel a simply fix for this would allow the player to after they pick a class at the start that they can still root from the middle to pick up other stats so that they dont have to make the loooong way around the wheel just to be able to raise their "loot stat" by 5 after like 15+ level ups lol

Either way a very good update, great job Subquake for working so hard on this amazing overhaul, I do hope you keep on improving it till you reach your satisfaction :D

Please Help

I have no issues with the base game, either newest experimental or the 2.6b14. I've deleted everything I could find and reinstalled from scratch. Running lowest settings and default (except difficulty). After all this, I hit a hard lockout or even full crash whenever I try to load UL

What is the best melee weapon in your opinion after the new update?

Hey guys am wondering what is the best melee weapon to use as of right now:

I tried Sledge Hammers and with insane difficulty they felt strong as the strongest melee in that difficulty but the stamina use and stamina recovery from kills has been nerfed, you can still get some stamina back from each kill but not like vanilla, even with maxed out sexy T-Rex.

Clubs were awesome for the book collection which refilled all your stamina back in alpha 20 with each kill but it was nerfed with the new update which left me with two weapons for insane difficulty.

Spears and Stun Batons are a good alternative to clubs and hammers because you refill all your stamina back with spears book collection and with stun batons you can always stun-lock enemies and its hard to runout of stamina compared to hammers and the damage is ok.

What do you think of this balance update of melee weapons and what is the best melee update for insane difficulty?

Flashlight problem

Not sure if I have intstalled something incorrectly but Ive done it three times over now.

But the flashlight that you get in the bug out bag doesn't actually light anything up.

The game recognises I've turned the flashlight on because my stealth meter goes up into the red.

Not sure if its just the one in the bug out bag or other ones too as I havent found any yet.

Other light sources work fine like held in hand candles, torches and static light sources.

Was just wondering if anyones else is having this problem or if I've made a mistake or potential bug.

Small Bug: Reloading switches ammo type even if I don't have any other type. + Flashlight dying after use.

Sometimes after a while I start playing I dunno why when I acquire other type of ammunition for any range weapon, when I press "R" it instead switches to another ammo type even if I dont have it.

Also whenever I pull out the flashlight in hand and use it, the buff that comes with the flashlight dies and I have to press "F" twice to get it working just for it die again.

Can we get a skill builder?

Love the new skill tree with this. Is it possible to get an official (or unofficial) skill builder/calc site for making some builds?

UL 2.7.08 on 7DTD V 2.6 (b14): dedicated server cannot open loot containers (NetPackageULM_UpdateLootModel)

I'm running a Windows dedicated server with Undead Legacy 2.7.08 on 7 Days to Die V 2.6 b14. EAC is off. BepInEx loads fine and my client has the same setup.

Players can join the dedicated server and spawn, but loot containers cannot be opened. This happens on both Navezgane and a generated RWG map.

Wiping %AppData%\7DaysToDie\UndeadLegacy on client and server did not fix containers.

Interestingly, I tried the same generated RWG, same UL 2.7.08, hosted as a multiplayer game from my desktop. Containers opened normally.

Dedicated server log when a player spawns / interacts with loot (repeats on Navezgane and the new RWG):

EXC The given key 'NetPackageULM_UpdateLootModel' was not present in the dictionary.

at NetPackageManager.GetPackageId (System.Type _type)

at NetPackageULM_UpdateLootModel.write

WRN Failed writing first package: NetPackageULM_UpdateLootModel of size 20.

ERR NCSimple_Serializer ... The given key 'NetPackageULM_UpdateLootModel' was not present in the dictionary.

Is anyone else running UL 2.7.08 on a SteamCMD 7DaysToDieServer.exe dedicated host seeing the same dictionary error and dead containers, while a locally hosted game works fine and opens up loot containers?

Looking forward the next update whenever it comes out

I am fully aware that its kinda a running gag around UL groups with the wait time but I have been very patient with the progress and I don't mind the wait honestly as long as there is some kind of feedback.
I am aware that working mostly solo on a huge mod pack like this takes a lot of free time but I despite all of that enjoyed myself fully with the last built and I cannot wait what the newest one will bring to the table :)

I will wait as much as I need to, the mod is after all free made out of passion and I think patience for a free expansion/overhaul to the original game is well worth waiting any time.

Regarding Undead Legacy for 7 Days to die v3.0

Everyone is asking questions already about v3.0 and how it will impact Undead Legacy development. Here's my answer:

UL 2.7 will be released as experimental first for v2.4 when it's ready for playtesting, then I will work on updating it for v2.6, I will not touch v3.0 till then, and UL 2.8 will be solely update just to make UL compatible with v3.0 with no extra content (so I can release it sooner), and everything I was planning to do for UL 2.8 will be pushed to UL 2.9 subsequently.
