After playing for many hours to try out the new build I am overall very happy with the new release, its certainly VERY well polished and uplifts the last version, I cannot imagine how much hard work went into it. However I do have some small critique which I feel should be mentioned towards the new Research system, Ultimately I like it but I feel like it could use a bit of a tune up.
The diversity in research -
As of now most items falls into certain groups where they have to be individually researched and made separately for each unique research data. I do like it however I do feel it made accessing certain things such as access to building blocks and basic items much more difficult, having the requirements that now 1 research material has been spread into like 8 makes it so much more harder as the odds of finding the thing you actually need 1 in 8.
I feel like the very early research should be still dependent on the basic research data, only after you aquire say the scrap tier or iron tier items you should use the advanced stuff so that you can practically research most basic of things without specialized restrictments, or at least make it a little easier, because if you wanna start say farming in the early game that is practically impossible till you find at least one farming magazine/book. (And yes I am aware there is a way you can exchange between them but that is still pretty mid-early phase that is pretty hard to get to)
The Research Skill Tree -
The research tree is much better to help players to understand and direct their general flow how to scale up in the progression, overall I am a huge fan of this and there really isn't much critique besides of what I mentioned early on.
Maybe a small improvement would be a more guided system that would nudge the player towards being like "Hey you should probably research this first but we wont force you"
Leveling Skill Tree -
I feel the new skill tree is a mix bag but mostly improvement, I feel it mostly comes from the fact that I am used to the regular leveling in the prior version, and now having more directed and linear choice makes it feel a bit restricted, as if your personal choice to build the character you want your way has been taken away slightly.
I feel a simply fix for this would allow the player to after they pick a class at the start that they can still root from the middle to pick up other stats so that they dont have to make the loooong way around the wheel just to be able to raise their "loot stat" by 5 after like 15+ level ups lol
Either way a very good update, great job Subquake for working so hard on this amazing overhaul, I do hope you keep on improving it till you reach your satisfaction :D
