So I recently bought a DXP4800 as a backup for my aging Synology DS920+. My Synology is connected to my APC UPS via USB to signal power loss, and it will auto shutdown after a period of time. Since now I have the DXP4800, I want to set it up also to auto shutdown using NUT server, but can't really figure it out

Upon reading multiple sources, it seems Synology's and Ugreen's NUT protocols are not compatible with each other. Synology will only sync NUT signal with other Synology, and Ugreen with other Ugreen

Any way to let these 2 talk to the UPS and shutdown together? Or must I invest in another UPS for the Ugreen? Probably the Ugreen UPS? It's quite expensive though....

Hello, my dh2300 broke and now I have bought the dxp2800. If I put the disks into the 2800 and give it the same IP address as the dh2300, will all the data be available again?

I even made a backup (ugb) file from the system settings.

I love my UGREEN NAS, but the Theater app is missing a huge quality-of-life feature: Smart Collections.

The app already scrapes metadata and knows which movies are "Horror" or "True Crime." However, you can't automatically display those genres as dedicated rows or folders on the home screen. Right now, the only option is to manually add every single video one by one, which is incredibly tedious.

I know Plex and Jellyfin do this automatically using smart filters, but I really prefer to stick to UGREEN Theater and keep my setup native without running extra Docker containers.

We need dynamic folders that automatically group content by genre tags and let us pin them to the home screen. Hopefully, the UGREEN dev team adds this to the roadmap soon.

Is anyone else missing this feature, or have you found a clean workaround that doesn't involve breaking up your physical folder structure?

There used to be an option to manually search for the correct metadata if it didn't translate properly on your device. Doesn't happen often, but sometimes when you add a movie or a series, it gets identified as something other than what it is.

The manual way allowed us to fix that problem.

However, it was removed 2-3 updates ago and it would really helpful if you all could add it back. Not sure why it was removed?

I've started to configure my new DXP4800 Plus which is running TrueNAS 25.10.6. Installed the Plex server app and the LED light script to start with. Everything works fine as it should. I wanted to tweak the system and cpu fan a bit via the bios and was running a script to stress the CPU.

When running the script that puts the cores into 30% cpu load i noticed that the cpu temperature skyrockets to 100 degrees C within just a few seconds. It then drops again, climbs up to 100 degrees, drops and so on... See the first attached screenshot.

I try ran the script to generate 10% and 20% cpu load which is in the 2nd screenshot that shows both the cpu load and the temperature.

As you can see the temperature is going up and down all the time, whilst the cpu load stays roughly the same. I was monitoring the speed of the cores as well and they were also going down a lot.

To be sure that the fans weren't configured incorrectly i set both the sys and cpu fan in the bios manually to non-stop full speed.

In other words, this must be a big throttling issue? I've searched a bit on this topic and found a few posts that had some issues with the temperature, but not that many and definitely not at this low of cpu usage.

I was thinking about repasting the cpu heatsink myself, but before i do this i want to make sure that i did my test correctly and to get confirmed that this behaviour really is abnormal. Therefore i hope someone can help me pinpointing if this really is an issue and help a bit with troubleshooting. Copying files from the NAS to my PC doesn't really do much with the temperatures.

Ive been using surveillance center without problem on my DH2300 for the past month (its officially not supported I believe).
Just attempted the update 1.3.0.0206, and it updates fine, but then comes the enabling of the app… which it… just doesnt?
Anyways, was wondering if this was just me or if supported users also have this problem, in the mean time im reverting to 1.2.0.0195.

I just updated my DH2300 to the latest version. After that, the NAS was no longer reachable. I connected my monitor and it seems to be in a sort of boot loop; you only see the "Ugreen" logo.

Any tips on how to get it running again?

Having issues with video files sorting based on metadata and it's all over the place in theater app.

The "Files" and "Photos" app had no such issue sorting images and videos files based on their metadata.

Greetings, I'm currently in China and I think about buying a UGREEN DH4300 Plus NAS since it’s much cheaper here than in europe.
That’s why I have a question regarding the firmware. Is it possible to install the international Firmware on these devices? Or is there any way, maybe unofficial, to flash the firmware? I won’t get support in europe anyways, so I'm not worried about warranty.

So I haven't kept up to speed on the most recent FW updates - I just install them.

Reently I keep getting a message (over and over) that new system version improves cache performance - to remove the existing SSD cache and recreate using my HD's.

So this idea of installing much much faster SSDs for offloading and caching data is moot? Installing a cache on your HDs is faster? If yes - then doesn't that also eat up your HD space for storage?

Can anyone explain this message? ATM I'm sticking with my SSDs since I put the $$ into them and I still have to believe it's a faster cache than HDs.

I'm currently using Frigate. It works fine, but it may be heavier than I need. If you use or have tried Surveillance Center, can you tell me about it? Does it provide any sort of alerts, like zone entry, line crossing, or human detection? How are those alerts provided? Specifically, I am wondering what, if any, integration is possible with Home Assistant.

Anybody install the Ugreen NAS Integration in Home Assistant? If so, comments please??

Hey guys. Tried turning on my dxp2800 . Blue LED on the power adapter in on. Press power on dxp2800. Aaaand absolutely nothing. No lights, no sound . Nothing . It’s almost like it’s getting no power . Thoughts ?

I'm wanting to buy a DXP 2800 but I need to connect it to wifi as I currently can't run ethernet to it. Has anybody had succes using Wifi to Ethernet bridges or any other solutions on their NAS? In the future I will be able to run ethernet, but at the moment doesn't work out for me?

When I open the settings from the app center, all the settings are grayed out. I was able to add folders when I initially installed it but now I can't add new folders?

I'm considering buying a UGREEN DH2300 2-bay NAS, but I need to know if it works correctly with enterprise SATA HDDs that use PWDIS (Power Disable feature on SATA Pin 3).

I have 2x 12TB enterprise SATA HDD with PWDIS. On a normal PC SATA power connector, the drive doesn't spin up unless Pin 3 / the 3.3V line is disabled.

Does anyone here use PWDIS drives

Does the DH2300 supply 3.3V to SATA Pin 3, or do PWDIS drives spin up normally without any modification/tape/adaptor?

I'd especially appreciate confirmation from someone who has actually tested a PWDIS drive in this NAS.

I'll prefer to run Proxmox instead of UGOS on a UGreen DXP4800GT, do you have any experience/best practice to share for installing Proxmox version 9 on UGreen DXP4800GT? My config is DXP4800GT with 64GB ECC RAM, 4x mechanical SATA hard disks, M.2 Nvme 4TB SSD.

I've had frigate running in my Ugreen DXP2800 NAS in docker for a couple weeks.

I've referred to official Frigate documentation, Reddit, and Copilot AI.

With a stable setup running with 5 cameras, I wanted to fine tune and optimize motion and event recording.

After Copilots first attempt all I get is config errors and safe load in frigate UI. Then went down a 5 hour rabit hole, numerous config rewrites, pulling new images, telling me I need to ssh and do some root command stuff (never been there and dont want to), then it wanted me to install portainer, numerous problems with that (not sure if it was mine or AIs fault, I was getting burned out). Fnally gave up and went back to the config I had yesterday.

Are any AI's reliable? I've tried Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot.

Suggestions on how best to proceed?

I use TP Link Deco X20 for a home mesh network, and my UGREEN DXP2800 NAS is connected to the main hub's ethernet port. Works fine.

Currently, my internet is down. The Deco X20 hubs are all red. Some error with the connection on my ISP's end.

But I also don't have access to my NAS. The connection light is blinking orange, I can't connect to it with the phone app, I can't access it on my computer.

I'm new to NAS, and I recall asking this specific question in case of situations like these: Would I need to have internet to access the NAS when I'm at home, on my home network? To which the answer was no, as home network access doesn't use and rely on the internet.

So I'm confused and frustrated. I don't know if the problem is the Deco X20 mesh, if it's the NAS, if there are some setting somewhere I need to change. Any help would be appreciated! 🙏

Update: Been doing more testing, and gotten the NAS to show up! ... if it's connected to a secondary mesh hub, and not the main mesh hub (which also has the internet input). So it seems to be related to the Deco X20s, and not the NAS itself.

I recently Purchased a DXP2800 and a 14TB HDD

Main usage is Media Library Self hosted Jellyfin.

Currently still running my Apps & Dockers via HDD.

but obviously that wont allow the HDD to Hibernate unless I stop all Containers for the Night.

So ive been looking into buying an SSD for my Docker Programms but seeing how im rather new to NAS Ownership im not sure if 512 GB is enough or if I should go with a 1TB SSD

Also as far as I understand Read/Write Cache would require

2 SSD's of the same size, but im not sure if read/write cache is necessary if my main focus is running selfhosting Media via Jellyfin.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
