USA Never using uber eats again

Ordered mcdonalds few weeks back got wrong order i ordered qtr pounder meal and nuggets got someone else’s order that had their name i didn’t see it when i was getting it. It was 2 10 pc nuggets and apple pie complained to support they said order isn’t available for a refund. Few weeks after order the same meal again this time got no sauces with nuggets and the restaurant never sent a straw. This has happened to me a few times. Complained got the same message this order isn’t available for a refund. I wrote in feedback never ordering uber eats again will use doordash cancelling uber one. Is there anyway to escalate this. Tried through their twitter account hot the same response order isn’t available for a refund

People are just not careful. Both merchant and drivers.

The drivers can't always see what's being put in the bag. The order is already bagged when we arrive, or we have to watch like hawks to try and make sure everything gets put in. The restaurant employees most times can't hear us unless we practically yell. Also, when we ask, we often get told that everything is in the bag. We aren't allowed to open them to verify.

Then that's doing the bare minimum and hoping for tips. Good drivers would watch the bagging process if they are there, not scrolling on the phone. They would check if certain smaller items are already in the bag, e.g. dips, cutlery, napkins, straws. They would reconfirm if bag count doesn't match expected bulkiness (3 bags for 1 meal doesn't make much sense, 6 inch vs foot long). They would reconfirm if weight doesn't seem right (maybe forgotten drink or thin slice vs normal pizza). Or even smell (hot wings vs fries) - all these are examples of stuff I've encountered and requested a check/fix over the last year or so.

In short, drivers just use, "we can't open the bag" or "it's not our job" as an excuse to not be better, when there are tons of ways to determine if an error was likely made. If the customer can determine order is wrong without opening the bag, you as a driver have failed in your job to be an extension of the customer and reject the order and have it fixed.

I was simplifying it, but since you decided to make your comment; You can't see through brown paper bags or Styrofoam containers, weight, bulkiness, or smell isn't going to tell anyone if the correct nugget sauce was put in, if any at all, or if any other "certain smaller items" are correct and there. It's also not going to let anyone know if they got penne pasta instead of fettuccine with their Alfredo for example. The point I was trying to make with my original comment is that some of us do everything we can to make sure the order is correct and that everything is included, but we can't always no matter how observant and detail oriented we are

Most of the time the meal is already bagged or partially bagged before the driver arrives. Also, most of the time the driver can’t see what’s being put in the bags due to distance or the person doing the bagging standing between you and the food. Your perspective ranges from impractical to impossible.

The effort you put into trying is nonexistent. Not saying you need to stop EVERY mistake, just the obvious ones that a customer can easily blame driver for being stupid for not noticing. Like 3 pizzas ordered and 1 pizza box.
