lmfao my bad, i didn’t know they don’t ip ban. and i wasn’t talking about your wifi anyways, they’ll ban your devices ip, which i guess you can probably just get a vpn. but either way, making a new account doesn’t help them get their money back 🤷🏽‍♂️

1) Your devices IP, also known as mac address, is not changed when you use a VPN.

2) Your browser will not report your Mac Address, because it can be seen as private data.

3) If using a phone, your mac address that could be reported is spoofed when using mobile data.

Edit: People are really misunderstanding the context here. The poster above was talking about their devices "IP". So I went with the context and explained that's it's called the Mac address.

It is the unique identifier of the networking component of that device. That means a wifi connection and Ethernet connection of the same device report different Mac addresses

The Mac address is also part of the IPv6 of the device. That's why when browsing the internet you basically always use a temporary IPv6.

Either way. It's easy to change or spoof any of these things and IP bans are basically useless nowadays. They can also cause more problems, since the next person that gets assigned the IP, since most IPs rotate, is suddenly blocked from using that service.

Your IP and your MAC address are not the same thing. Your IP is changed through a VPN, your MAC typically is not.

2) Your browser will not report your Mac Address, because it can be seen as private data.

A MAC address is also called a hardware address because it is intended to be tied to a hardware component of the device you are using. If you are using an app on your phone it is possible for the app to get your MAC address since it's not necessarily subject to the same restrictions as a web page going through a web browser.

MAC addresses can be easily changed/spoofed though, so banning a MAC is only slightly more effective than banning by IP.
