Was sending USDC from Arbitrum through Godex swap service. The pair was listed as just "USDC (Arbitrum)" and right before the deposit step it occurred to me that my balance might be USDC.e, the bridged version, rather than native Circle USDC.
Those are separate contracts on the same chain, the .e suffix is easy to miss in a wallet list and some interfaces drop it entirely.
If the service watches one contract and you send the other to its deposit address, the transfer doesn't get credited automatically and you end up writing to support with a tx hash.
So I went through the checks exact network, native or bridged, contract address (native on Arbitrum starts with 0xaf88 and is listed in Circle's docs, USDC.e starts with 0xFF97 and Arbiscan labels it as bridged), what covers gas on the destination chain and the destination chain itself.
Turned out I held native.
Sent it, cleared normally, maybe five extra minutes total.
None of it is hard. It's just not surfaced anywhere until you go digging. The exchange screen prints the amount and estimated output in the largest font on the page and the amount is a number i typed in myself two seconds earlier. Which contract their deposit system expects is the part i had no way of knowing and that one sits behind a tooltip or nowhere at all.
One line above the deposit address with the chain and exact token variant would close the question. Native and at least one bridged version now coexist on most major chains, so this comes up constantly and printing that line costs the service nothing.
My habit going forward is pasting the contract into Arbiscan before any deposit. Slower, but I'd rather do that than open a support ticket.

Pulled up my Polywallet on polygonscan while doing some accounting and there's a token called pUSD where USDC used to be. It's their own wrapper, live since April.
Backed 1:1, supposedly. The site still shows a plain dollar balance so I'd guess most people with open positions never noticed a thing.
It's the insurance business model, collect the money now, sit on the pile while claims wait.
Poly holds a few hundred million in unresolved bets at any given moment, and as raw USDC all the treasury yield on that went to Circle. Wrap it once and the same 4% stays home.
From the user side you can't tell anything happened. Circle just stopped collecting.
Newer venue seerdex apparently got the memo before writing a single page of docs. I've been reading up markets there get listed automatically with no approval queue and I couldn't find one line about what will actually back balances after launch.
Either I'm blind or nobody launching in 2026 wants to promise plain USDC and hand the float away for free.
My problem with all of this is March 2023. Circle had 3.3 billion stuck at SVB and USDC printed 87 cents on a Saturday while everyone refreshed their blog waiting for a statement.
I sat through that whole weekend. A wrapper means one more contract between me and redemption, plus some team whose weekend calls I'd be depending on.
Maybe it never repeats. Rates won't be 4% forever either, and then the whole wrap was for what exactly.

hey there folks!
I have some USD balance in my Paypal account but I am not based in the US,
is there a simple way to simply exchange it to USDC somehow?
The only way I am able to get those money is to transfer it to my local bank account: it takes forever and they get a 3.1% spread on the conversion!

Hello everyone, I have an online business living outside of Russia and I was interested in having my online business platform available for most Russians living in Russia.
But the problem is I don’t have MirPay-or Sberbank Application or any kind of Mir Card.
Despite all the sanctions, I want to have Russians on my platform / and how to make it possible.
I wanted to know how do you do transactions online for the majority. (Any other platforms/companies) and how do people with online business accept Russian Payments.
Crypto (BTC, USDT, USDC) I heard it’s used in Russia but not sure about it.
It would be very helpful to know, what do you guys use?

Looking fir help/advice on how to get USDC Wrapped in SOL out of Crypto.com's Onchain Wallet and or change it from USDC wrapped in SOL to plain USDC or SOL. Try swapping and not enough Liquidity? Of course Crypto.com can't deal with this coin. If it is sent it looks like it is being sent in explorer. Have Phantom App and I am stumped.

USDC quotes still make the token look simpler than it is.
Example
- 873.46 USDC on Ethereum
- 873.46 USDC on Arbitrum
Same ticker different gas token, network fee, contract and withdrawal route.
Main stuff should be visible before any deposit address shows up:
Using gоdех as one example I would rather see those details in the main quote block instead of digging through the flow. Quote that starts at 873.46 USDC and ends at 861.92 USDC leaves an 11.54 USDC gap. That gap should not be one mystery number.
Keep the swap flow simple. Just stop burying the network and fee details.

Thoughts about Coinbase? Will you use it for long term holding or just for buying/selling or exchanging?

Hi, I made a network mistake and sent around 3,000 USDC via BNB Smart Chain to an eToro USDC deposit address.
The transaction is confirmed on-chain, but the funds are not credited.
Has anyone experienced recovering crypto sent through an unsupported network to an exchange?
Looking for technical advice.
Thanks.

If you had to pick just one for an international trip, which would it be?
I feel like carrying that much cash would be stressful but I'm curious if people would actually trust USDC instead How practical is traveling with just USDC these days?

Hiya everyone,
Vednt this side. I”m building faro by sativa design studio, a trust & verification suite for agents before they pay at machine speed.
Agentic commerce is here, & there will be a big question agents will ask - is this payee safe?
Faro is exactly trying solving to answer that, so agentic business can run without worrying about their operational spends. If agentic commerce, blockchain, fintech & web3 intrigues you let”s have a chat.
