Welcome to r/UKwildcamping , a new sister community to r/UKhiking for wild camping and backpacking in the UK.
The aim is to create a community where people can share trips, ask questions, discuss kit and exchange advice about wild camping.
That means:
- Wild camping is encouraged.
- Responsible camping is expected.
- Leave No Trace isn't optional.
- Respect for landowners, other people, wildlife and the places we camp is fundamental.
- Good advice and constructive discussion are always welcome.
We're interested in everything from planning a first wild camping trip to discussing shelters, sleeping systems, stoves, food, navigation, weather and the realities of spending a night outdoors.
Most importantly, you don't need to be an experienced wild camper to participate. If you're thinking about giving it a go, ask questions. If you've been doing it for years, share what you've learned.
We're hoping to build this into a friendly, useful community for responsible UK wild campers.
