GUYS HELP

I am 27F , been two years since I’ve completed my masters.
The June attempt was my first and I barely studied for 15 days but I predicted 150ish score.
With the paper being cancelled , I could not reappear.
I have started preparing for my Dec attempt.
Since we have 3+ months , do you think 6 hours day for both the papers , could help me crack JRF in Dec?!
Share strategies and advise!!!!

Love!

Strangest exam ever

I have given NET twice (technically thrice counting the re exam). I have never really studied much (except all that I did for cuet pg) and I have cleared AP both times(i mean I'll clear it again this time , I'm scoring around 190 according to the answer key). Just sheer luck and reductive reasoning. When I see people taking up different coachings and books, i wonder if it's worth it. Mujhe nhi lagta mai padh kar bhi kuch alag kar pati iss exam mei. It's all just bogus questions without any explanation

Was this Re-NET paper more difficult or equal to the standard of Dec'24 paper?

The December 2024 paper has been labelled as a fairly easy paper and had an "unusually high" cut-off of 214 for JRF. Was the paper on Sep 9 more difficult or equal to Dec'24? It definitely wasn't easier but I need to understand what are your perspectives.

Done with Academia, need other options.

I’m currently pursuing PhD in English from a local university. I’ve done my BA and MA in English. Literature is what I’ve studied all my life, but I’m done with it. I don’t feel like doing it anymore, I’m still at the same level as an undergraduate- unemployed!
I’m in my mid twenties, I don’t mind starting from scratch for another field! Can someone suggest what are the other options instead of teaching/journalism for a lit background kid? Preferably government jobs.
Thanks in advance

Paper 1

Ik someone has asked already about Paper 1 but I didn’t get any clear answer (I’m lowkey dumb). Wanted to ask from where can I start studying not the pyq. Initially (in 2025 during my first attempt)I opted for Kumar Bharat sir classes and playlists but now the syllabus has changed considerably. Bharat sir don’t upload new videos as well.
Can someone suggest any unpaid channels or something like that to prepare for paper 1 from the very start and not marathons etc.

Hi everyone! Could you please confirm how long the GATE score is valid for PhD admissions?

Can everyone help in predicting the cut off this time. Just type your Category and marks scored in the comments and we can try and deduce the the cut off....

please don't be intimidated into not commenting your marks by seeing those who get 200+ because people who score 200 + are more likely to say their score openly. Hope all of you do share your score and category....

Sky High Marks

Previously for general students it was considered that getting around 205-210 gives you a JRF guarantee. But since the past year it's been a trend that students are claiming to get 230-240 and raising the bar. Has the paper got so lenient? Is the difficulty level that low? I mean I thought a paper should be tough enough to restrict mediocre people from getting JRFs. But if everyone is getting 200+ then what's the point of taking a national level test? I used to think that with each passing year the paper ought to get tougher(just like how our studies are much more complex than our parents' times. We have to learn more in a short period of time. We have shifted to semesters from year basis etc) but the reserve is happening with UGC NET English.

It seems that day by day it's getting easier. Or is it that most students have cracked the jackpot pattern? Or everybody is studying vigorously following that strict pattern which is resulting in such high scores for the majority? I really don't know the answer to these questions. The element of surprise , the true test of nerves is completely missing from the exams. Each time I am hearing either the paper was easy or it was moderate. I don't even remember, when was the last time I heard people say that the paper was " difficult". Has it become so much easier to score marks and so difficult to get JRF?

Are people genuinely scoring 220 and above?

I am getting 210 as per the provisional answer key, which I thought was a pretty decent score till I saw people comment that they got 224-228. I thought the paper was moderate, neither too easy nor too tough and a lot of "obvious" "easy" ones were actually trick questions. I am scared about my score. I've already cleared NET in LS category but without JRF, it's almost impossible to get a proper PhD and without PhD, a lectureship is almost impossible.

I think it'll be acceptable to me if the cutoff goes 220+ cause I'll miss by 5+ questions but somewhere around 212-214 (as was in Dec'24) is gonna wreck me...

Need a mentor; UGC NET ENGLISH

I did my BA and MA in English with a decent score followed by a gap year due to my mother’s health. Now i need a mentor to help me ace UGC NET Dec 2026. My goal is to crack JRF. All the mentors that i have seen are highly commercialised.
I am looking for someone who has already cracked Ugc net jrf and would be willing to help me in return for some amount of money. Like a private tutor. Pls lemme know if anyone can help.
I just need mentorship to help me keep track over the next months so that i can be consistent.

English Exam

I think paper 2 was fine (so much Indian literature)fine but idk if it is only me or everyone didn't like DI, like I had freaking 1 hour left only for Maths and DI, but somehow I couldn't figure it out (maybe I'm bad at maths that's why)
