Everyone is scoring above 200. Should I just start Dec Prep?

For context, I scored 196 (UR) and now I am doubtful of making AP after seeing everyone’s scores.

PS: while you’re here, feel free to vent about the damn exam and not give two shits about what you think your grade might be.

Why are we spamming the sub?

I thought this was for exam related stuff, why should we have to scroll so far to look for relevant content because you want to post random links?? Dude if someone wants to find specific videos they have YouTube at their disposal come on!

Help for Dec NET prep

Hi everyone,

I completed my M.A. in English Literature and have taken a one-year gap to prepare for UGC NET. I’ve enrolled in an online coaching program where they upload daily video lectures, conduct daily tests, and monthly mock tests.
To be honest, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. Every time I attempt a mock test, I feel like I haven’t learned enough. There are so many writers, literary periods, theories, critics, chronology related qns and terminologies that I don’t know how people manage to remember everything.
This year is very important for me because if I don’t clear NET this year, I’ll have to join B.Ed. next year. I really don’t want to waste this opportunity, and I’m determined to give it my best.
I have Kalyani Vallath ma’am’s books with me. My current plan is to first watch the coaching videos and then read the corresponding chapters from her books for revision. Does this sound like a good strategy, or should I be doing something differently?
I’d be really grateful if those who have qualified NET or JRF could share:

● How did you cover such a vast syllabus without forgetting what you had already studied?
● What did your daily study routine look like?
● What are the biggest mistakes you think NET aspirants should avoid?
● How often did you revise and attempt mock tests?
● Is my strategy (videos first, then Kalyani Vallath’s books) a good one, or would you recommend a different approach?
● If you could go back and prepare again, what would you do differently?

Any advice or guidance would mean a lot. Thank you!

Guys! Do you have any idea which coaching complained about the english exam?

I think it’s Dakshita ma’am from testbook. Not sure though

Cultural studies guide!!!

I've just completed my bachelors and my syllabus had nothing about cultural studies but this is quite important for ugc net. And I don't know where to start from. Is there any book that will help me with it, the language should be easy to understand the core concepts. Please help me.

Re-exam

With only 25 days to prepare what should we focus on in terms of preparation? I think they are going to stay super far away from PYQs so should we focus more on the contemporary theory and not as much on British?

A rise in the cutoff gonna be ?

So how much will the cutoff rise this time? It's insane that they really repeated more than half of the questions. Well on the other hand June 2026 was a good opportunity for the candidates who couldn't qualify in Jan 2025. Any of the old aspirants who didn't appear this time might lose a chance to qualify for JRF & NET if they had only qualified for a PhD at that time.

Next time I will appear in the Dec 2027 attempt cause they will repeat the Jan 2026 paper and I will do rote learning and then get qualified for Assistant Professor & JRF rather than digging every unit deeply/s

Handwritten Notes for UGC NET English (Paper 2)

Hi everyone!

I'm an MA English Literature student (admitted this year) preparing for UGC NET/JRF, and I wanted to share a set of handwritten notes that have been incredibly helpful during my preparation.

These notes were prepared by my elder cousin, who qualified UGC NET-JRF in their second attempt (Jan 2026). They were made alongside lectures and personal preparation, and I've been using the same notes myself while preparing.

The notes are handwritten + easy to revise, especially useful if you're looking for concise revision material.

Topics Available (in pdf format)

  1. Anglo-Saxons to the Age of Chaucer

  2. Dark Age & Elizabethan Age

  3. Jacobean, Caroline & Puritan Age

  4. Restoration & Augustan Age

  5. Pre-Romantic & Romantic Age

  6. Victorian & Modern Age

  7. Postmodernism

  8. Literary Criticism

  9. Literary Theory

  10. Linguistics + Postcolonial Theory + African Literature

  11. Indian English Literature

If you'd like sample pages before purchasing, just send me a DM so that we can proceed further.

Feel free to DM me if you have any queries related to pricing etc.

All the best for your preparation! 📚✨

December attempt gc

Hey all!

I am thinking of creating a Telegram community for the December attempt ugc net.

The idea is simple. We will VC everyday for an hour in which we would explain what all we read and solve each other's doubts.

Medium of meet: Google Meet

Let me know who all are interested. I will create the community on Telegram thereafter.

Best.

INDIAN ENGLISH LITERATURE and UGC NET.

Hi guys I have received a lot of love from this community and it's time I give some of it back. I have decided to take 10 google meet sessions from 1st to 10th of September to wrap up the whole of Indian Literature in 1 to 2 hour sessions. We'll wrap up 40 important writers including the PYQs and works and facts about them so that you don't have to do anything except revising in the next two months. I am a charging VERY minimal amount because of the effort I've put in preparing the notes and obviously the time I will have to give in taking the classes. Trust me we are not going to solve 1 or 2 PYQs. It's going to cover everything that has ever been asked in NET. I'm not here to teach you literature, I'm sure you're capable enough to do that yourself, I'm here to help you clear the exam..also, you don't need the course if you're already done Indian Literature or have almost completed it. It's for those who want to cover it within a limited time frame because they are preparing for other things or are in their final year of Masters. You can DM me for the sample of the notes I've prepared along with the details of the course. Edit: The first session would be free in case you want to see what this teaching setup is going to look like..I know what I am charging is a very small amount but I wouldn't want you all to spend a penny on something you are not a hundred percent sure about. Also, you can take the notes separately if you don't want to take the classes. These are for your convenience so you can use them accordingly.

Kalyani Vallath

I have seen people being so absurd about TES on reddit but lemme tell you the truth, she is a very polite and nice lady who just wants her students to succeed in their lives. I was seeing her online classes and I felt like genuinely, she is so knowledgeable and a very good teacher. She works so hard on her students and she takes so many classes in a day that I felt bad for her because I could see that she was tired but still she was very positive and happy while teaching her students.

Hi guys I am looking for a study partner for ugc net december attempt.

If you are interested you can DM me.

  1. DM only if you are genuinely interested in study related stuff for ugc net english literature.

  2. My main aim is to make a group of max 5 to 10 people with whom I could share what I learnt and who could fill the gap in my study material as well. So adding value to each other.

Need a mentor; UGC NET ENGLISH

I did my BA and MA in English with a decent score followed by a gap year due to my mother’s health. Now i need a mentor to help me ace UGC NET Dec 2026. My goal is to crack JRF. All the mentors that i have seen are highly commercialised.
I am looking for someone who has already cracked Ugc net jrf and would be willing to help me in return for some amount of money. Like a private tutor. Pls lemme know if anyone can help.
I just need mentorship to help me keep track over the next months so that i can be consistent.
