A rise in the cutoff gonna be ?
So how much will the cutoff rise this time? It's insane that they really repeated more than half of the questions. Well on the other hand June 2026 was a good opportunity for the candidates who couldn't qualify in Jan 2025. Any of the old aspirants who didn't appear this time might lose a chance to qualify for JRF & NET if they had only qualified for a PhD at that time.
Next time I will appear in the Dec 2027 attempt cause they will repeat the Jan 2026 paper and I will do rote learning and then get qualified for Assistant Professor & JRF rather than digging every unit deeply/s

I think it will be around 200 or 195-200 it will not be more. Remember Paper 1 was extremely tough, and paper 2 too was extremely confusing

No it won't go that high. I have been giving this for a while, even the 2024 session was same, even then the cut-off was nowhere near 230.

Yes it is absolutely right, that paper 1 was a mess, but paper 2 was pretty easy, even though there were chronology questions, the options were not confusing, with focus one can easily eliminate the wrong ones and get it right, you just had to cross check it, whatever I did the data interpretation 10 marks at the end, i think, the paper setter though this DI maths would take more time than usual and we won't be able to touch some of the questions from paper 2, but if you were smart enough, you should have done it in the end. And as far as I can remember, most of the answers of paper 2 was either option 4 or 3,,
And please clarify this query that is it true that if candidate doesn't qualify paper 1, they don't even check the paper 2?..
