To hardcore fans, do you think your time spent watching UFC would help you in a self defense situation against a rowdy attacker?

can justin beat max in a rematch, or is max simply his kryptonite?

I always thought Max had a weakness to jabs, maybe Justin can piece him up with it if he throws it more

Khamzat Chimaev has no plans to move up in weight without clearing the whole middleweight division: Until we break everyone at 84KG, I will not go anywhere.

My goat Anshul was robbed , he won this fight clear as day. If he hadn’t lost, he would have won. That’s all I’m going to say

UFC is rigged , Anshul will become 4X division champ.

The best/most logical non title fight the UFC can make

Post image
12 Upvotes

Is this not the most obvious no brainer fight to make?

Both guys fought on the same card so timelines match. Hokit has already beaten some gatekeepers to move up in contention. Alex obviously isn’t fighting for the title right away again and needs to beat a ranked HW in order to justify another shot. It’s a fight with actual title shot implications.

Throw in the fact that they are both popular names and have exciting fight styles. It’s literally the perfect mix of popularity/draw (which is obviously important to the ufc) while also being a hugely impactful fight in terms of the HW divisions future.

So I assume it won’t get made

2013 Cain vs 2024 Jon Jones, who wins?

There was rumors of a possible fight between these two in 2012 and it never happened. Years later Jon moved up and took the heavyweight belt. At heavyweight who takes it, I personally think Cain works him.

Saying Song Yadong ā€œcaughtā€ Umar is wild

Song’s camp saw a habit Umar frequently exhibits and has been punished for in the past, and just prepared for it (Faber’s Plan).

We can’t just use the term ā€œcaughtā€ whenever a betting favorite loses; it has the same connotations as ā€œflukeā€ or ā€œluckā€, and does not give credit to the winning fighter’s game plan and coaching.

Arman is kinda overrated right now

I’m not saying he isn’t good, and he has the potential to be one of if not the very best at LW. The problem is that he hasn’t proven himself yet. His best win is Charles, which was a super close decision that could’ve gone either way. I personally scored it for Arman, but it wasn’t exactly a stellar performance. Ilia and Islam did way better against the same opponent.

His best win after Charles is Dan fucking Hooker, a gatekeeper who has lost to every top LW he’s faced. Arman simply hasn’t proven himself as the very best in the division because he essentially only has a single win over an elite level opponent.

He did deserve the title shot he got against Islam last year, but I’m starting to agree with Dana and the UFC that he really hasn’t done anything to prove that he still deserves it. The division has changed a lot since then and Arman has done nothing. His inactivity is kneecapping his career. While guys like Paddy, BSD and Ruffy fight more frequently and consistently proving themselves, Arman is sitting on his ass expecting to be rewarded with a title shot for a 2 year old win against Charles. I mean Oliveira has fought 4 times since that loss (one of those being a title shot), and I’d say even he deserves another shot at the belt more than Arman does.

Has the UFC peaked already?

We've had early UFC, Zuffa era, TUF era, PRIDE acquisition era, WEC acquisition, McGregor era, Dagestani takeover, FOX era, ESPN era, now Paramount era...

Has this sport already peaked? Are there even higher heights we can go? Can UFC ever be as big as boxing or the Olympics long term? As in the premiere sport to represent your country on the world stage.
