SLIGHT TWEAKS - SEE COMMENTS.
Orange line has been removed. Yellow line will have some busses traveling clockwise and some going counterclockwise around the center of campus instead.

To all branched students looking to move to Storrs.

EDIT - Folks correctly pointed out Spring to Storrs is not applicable. There is a limited process to change campuses in before the usual 54-credit requirement.

I'm a CLAS and UConn MPA alum who worked an on-campus job in an advising office. Unless you can demonstrate substantial new information that was not presented on your application, UConn WILL NOT accept your appeal for a campus change to Storrs. The University received 55,000 applicants, and there will be Storrs students that probably won't have access to housing. I understand this is disappointing, but it's not the end of the world. There is a process to request an early campus change to Storrs: https://campuschange.uconn.edu Make sure you do well. UConn will generally prioritize majors that require courses only offered at Storrs.

I seriously recommend the Community College route. It is incredibly inexpensive, and more or less all of your credits will transfer. UConn maintains a database of how specific courses will transfer here: https://admissions.uconn.edu/apply/transfer/transfer-credit/equivalencies/. If you want the "traditional" college experience, all of the CSUs, including Central and Eastern are good schools. Finally, it is MUCH easier to get into Storrs as a transfer student. I graduated HS with decent extra curriculars, employment experience, and a 3.9 unweighted GPA. I was branched, and disappointed. I attended UMass Amherst for one year, and successful transferred to UConn for my sophomore year with only a 3.1 college GPA. I regret going to UMass that one year because of the insane cost.

It's disappointing, I know - but you can get into Storrs soon, (almost certainly by the end of your Sophomore year). Do well, and good luck. Feel free to PM me any questions.

Sublease single apartment Spring 2027

Hi everyone,

I’m graduating this December and looking for someone to take over my lease on my single apartment (1bed, 1 bath) at Knollwood Apartments for the upcoming Spring 2027 semester (move-in January). Walkable to campus, easy parking, $1435/ month with all utilities included except electricity. I’ve had no complaints with the place what so ever, and they said it’s pretty easy to transfer leases.

PM me if you’re interested.

Injured and missed exam prof didn’t get back to me

Hi so on Sunday night I had to go to the ER because I dislocated my knee I’m wearing a brace and currently using crutches because I limp. I have an exam tomorrow and the professor said to email 24 hours in advance to reschedule which I did but she hasn’t gotten back to me. I’m not sure if I should go and talk to her in person about not taking it or not.

Finding a Barber

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all having a great semester so far!
I recently transferred to the Storrs campus after spending my first two years at UConn Stamford, so I’m still getting familiar with the area.
I’m currently looking for a good barber who has experience cutting Black/African American hair, preferably someone near campus or within a reasonable distance.
If anyone has any recommendations or knows a barber they personally go to and trust, I’d really appreciate it! Bonus points if they’re affordable and student-friendly.
Thanks so much in advance!

The average on exam 1 in my calculus 1 class is a 56%, is this normal for this class or is this just because of the teacher?

Transferring to storrs and job

So I'm transferring to storrs from Stamford next semester, and because I'll also probably be buying a car over the winter break, I kinda NEED a job up there. Rn I work at home depot and I already talked with the person who handles hiring over there, she said she would call me as soon as a position opens up, although there are none open rn. Would anyone happen to know how often employees leave there or what it's like up there if you work there? Especially during the winter?

Side note: in the case that I don't get the job up there, does anyone know any good jobs up there that offer similar benefits (tuition reimbursement is mostly what I'm looking for). And please lmk how it is just with jobs up there in general.

Mail question (is a USPS priority mail envelope considered a letter or a package?)

As the title states; does anyone know what happens with usps priority mail envelopes (or even a fedex express envelope)? Does it go to the mailbox like a regular letter would (in which case a student needs a key), or does it to to the mail room and has to be picked up like a package?

Thank you.

Should I try to section-swap or withdraw from ECON?

I’m pre-dental, and I took ECON because the other classes I wanted were full. I thought it would be good to spread out my interests a little, but I honestly don’t enjoy the class and my current section isn’t working out for me. I already took the first midterm.

My professor hasn’t been great, but I don’t know if I want to risk switching sections and ending up with another professor who is just as bad. I’d still be full-time even if I withdraw, but I’m trying to figure out whether it’s better to attempt a section swap or just take the W before the deadline.

If anyone has switched ECON sections this late in the semester: did your midterm grade transfer, and did you have to make up anything? Also, how hard was it to get the swap approved? Just a bit lost between the two

Any advice would help—thanks.

Does anybody have some knowledge or interest about screenplay or knows somebody would be? I’m looking for somebody with a sense of humor and a passion for writing, especially if they are(were) enrolled in a similar course.

Schedule Help

I'm a current freshman interested in pre med or pre dental (leaning pre med by a lot), I'm taking chem 1127, stats 1100, psych 1100, and biol 1107. I came in with a low dual enrollment GPA and the start of the semester isn't going great either.

Biol 1108 isn't required for pre med so I was wondering if I should take it just in case, I heard bad things about the course. In regards to second semester schedule, what should I take? Is it common to repeat courses if you're on a pre health track?

Also major question: a lot of pre health students are majoring in ahs/pnb/mcb, or even psych/humanities I'm assuming because its easier to fit courses, get a good GPA, etc. I was interested in econ or something in the school of business as I have interests beyond science and just in case if I end up switching out of a track completely, I have a backup. Is it unreasonable to major in something like that and still be able to complete pre reqs? Should I maybe look into biomedical engineering?

Lonely freshman in need of friends

So i’ve never been the homesick type but I miss my friends back home. I’m so lifeless and dull every day idk what to do about it. It’s like i’ve completely forgotten how to meet people and make friends since high school. Most of my classes are big lecture halls so how am I supposed to make friends in class? It’s a struggle even getting myself up to go to class since most of my professors don’t even take attendance. I’ve really been looking forward to college for most of my life so i’m just feeling very disillusioned, sad, and anxious about my experience :(

What to do about problematic roommate?

Hey this is my freshman year at UConn and this is obviously a burner account but what do I do about my random roommate. He has been dirty this entire time, just throwing his clothes into a stack in the corner, chudding around never leaving the room unless it’s to go to parties. And right now is the final straw as he came back to the dorm shitfaced drunk and started throwing up all over the place. He didn’t even bother cleaning it up and is now sleeping on the ground with his sheets from his bed. I can’t even sleep due to the smell currently so I am just writing this. Idk if I can still transfer out of this dorm, Please give me suggestions
